Since there is quite a while until the episodes return the novel writers come up with unrelated story lines. This is what happened with the season 1-2 break. - Even if Linda survived, she would be a little bit old to be Adam's newest wife. + Adam is 400 years old. He's been with dozens of women young and old. + During those 40-odd years, she could have gained a power that slowed her aging.
Linda Tavara may have had an ability that helped her survive the fire. Just because Linda can take abilities by killing, it doesn't mean she kills only people with abilities.
