About

Genesis

In his late father's apartment in Chennai, India, Mohinder discovers Mr. Bennet's horn-rimmed glasses. While Bennet is in Mohinder's taxi, his face is cloaked in shadow, but his glasses stick out. Later on, he returns home and is greeted by his daughter while wearing his glasses.

Company Man

In 2003, Mr. Bennet needs glasses. With his Claire's advice, he rejects a pair of "grandpa" glasses and "grandma" glasses. Claire finally chooses a pair of horn-rimmed glasses for her father. When he asks how he looks in the new pair, she tells him she looks like "my dad".

Memorable Quotes

"The man with the horn-rimmed glasses. He chased me around the world -- Madras, Manhattan, this very apartment -- looking for it. But this isn't anything."

- Mohinder (to Eden) (One Giant Leap)

"The one who did all the talking had these horn-rimmed glasses. The other guy was a spooky euro dude. He didn't say a word."

- Nathan (to Peter) (Nothing to Hide)

"Try these on."

- Claire (to Mr. Bennet) (Company Man)

"Glasses, tall fella?"

- Thompson (to Mohinder) (.07%)

Notes

  • When asked if there is any real significance to Mr. Bennet's glasses, Tim Kring responded, "Because his character had very few lines in the pilot, and needed to be recognizable, we gave him a distinct pair of glasses. I also liked that they had a distinct early days of the CIA look to them. Very "Company Man"."

Trivia

  • According to Greg Beeman's blog, the over-the-shoulder point-of-view shots through Mr. Bennet's glasses started as "just a fun shot that occurred in the pilot and we try to have fun within the episodes. The directors try to out "HRG" each other."
