Notes
- Nichelle Nichols tells TV Guide that "Nana is tough and undaunted and--like the blues--she just keeps rising to the occasion." The woman, in "financial straits", moves into her flood-ravished house after her daughter dies, and cares for her two grandchildren, one of whom is Monica.
- When asked if Nana has a special ability, Nichols said, "Well, that remains to be seen, now doesn't it?"
- Nana is the great-aunt of Micah Sanders. Since Nana probably isn't related to Niki, that would make Nana the sister or sister-in-law of Paulette Hawkins.
