Evs Dropper
After reading this week's Graphic Novel I'm starting to think that Evs Dropper is Brian --Dman dustin 04:43, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
Oh, Heroes
Even in graphic novels, the stereotypes appear in the form of the angry black chick. :) --NellaBishop 06:13, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
- The sad thing is in average about half the population of any given ethnic group at least partially ties into a stereotype. --PeterDawson 09:44, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
- I hope they don't resort to using a ditzy blonde who is prone to accidents. --DocM 12:13, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
- Or a struggling black single parent with a criminal record. Or a fat cop who loves doughnuts.--Hardvice (talk) 13:01, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
- I doubt Matt can be considered a stereotype when the only reason he ate those doughnuts was because of Eden. --Dman dustin 16:11, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
- Or a serial killer who just had a bad childhood. Or a Japanese geek. Or a woman in a bad relationship. Or a hottie. --DocM 16:15, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
- Stereotypes exist for a reason. They are generally based somewhat on truth, not that it is right to make blanket statements about a people, but there are negative, neutral, and positive stereotypes. I'm sorry, but all of these things you people have listed exist, and they do so in great numbers. I can name hundreds of people i know that are just like these stereotypes. So I don't see what the problem with fiction using this as a starting ground is. it is the other stuff that makes the character (or person) special. Sure D.L. is a divorced black male w/ an arrest record, but he is also a hero, a firefighter, a loving father. Claire is the popular klutzy blonde, but she is also a girl willing to do anything to save her family and has learned what a true friend is. ~Action Figure

Pension
I really liked this novel, especially with the comment Noah made to Donna, "There's a reason why there's no pension plan", heh...I've been waiting for a line like that to turn up ever since Golden Handshake, Part 4 so kudos to Chuck Kim on the good dialogue this time around and the interesting storyline. Also, I thought Peter Steigerwald did good on the artwork and likenesses, except the Noah he drew seemed to me to look about 20 years too young. Maybe Peter just used the wrong reference? :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:15, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
- I agree w/ you there, MV. It took me a second and third look to realize it was HRG. The face looked kinda long and oval-shaped, but I'm not criticizing - if I tried to do better you'd be lucky to get a stick man w/ glasses. --Yamawhata? 19:24, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
