Sylar's victims
As Sylar moves across the country, he is leaving a growing number of victims.
List of Presumed Victims
- Molly Walker's parents are found dead in their home. (Don't Look Back)
- Hiro discovers Isaac's corpse in the future. (Don't Look Back)
- Sylar also killed an FBI agent who was guarding Molly at headquarters. (One Giant Leap)
- Isaac and Peter paint a picture of Claire dead at Sylar's feet. (Hiros)
- Charlie is killed in the back of Burnt Toast Diner (Seven Minutes to Midnight)
- In a dream, Mohinder sees Chandra killed by an unseen figure wearing Sylar's watch, presumably Sylar himself, in a cab. (Seven Minutes to Midnight)
Methods
Sylar's victims have been killed by several methods:
- Freezing them
- Impaling them with objects via Telekinesis
Additionally, some victims have the top of their skulls cut off, and their brains removed. The purpose for this act is currently unknown.
- Mohinder Suresh discovers that Sylar owns an extensive collection of autopsy books in his apartment. It is implied that Sylar is perfecting his technique.
- Not every victim is killed in this manner, possibly indicating Sylar is targeting evolved humans for brain removal.
Notes
- Audrey Hanson had mistakenly attributed the death of Dr. Robert Fresco to Sylar in "Nothing to Hide".
- Technically, the FBI Agent is correct: It's not conclusively established as a fact that any of these victims were killed by a man named "Sylar", or that the man that Audrey and Matt confronted was Sylar. Only Audrey's say-so ties the victims to Sylar, and her rush to judgment of Ted Sprague shows that Sylar is a bit of a white whale for her.
- Sylar is seen wearing the same broken wristwatch as Chandra's killer in Mohinder's dream. Assuming the dream is accurate, Chandra Suresh is likely another of Sylar's victims. If so, then why he was killed in such a different fashion from the others likely has some significance.
Memorable Quotes
There isn't a Sylar. Last words of a dying victim, it didn't mean anything.
We've pieced a trail across a dozen states. All people impaled by household objects. Bones broken. All without any traceable sign of physical contact. But only some of them involve any mutilation of the head or neck, so they don't see the connections.

Fan Theories
- Sylar also possesses the power of cryokinetics (the ability to control temperature) and is using it to kill by freezing his victims.
- If true, then he is the only evolved human that has been shown to have more than one major power.
- Sylar is stealing the brains of evolved humans in order to incorporate their abilities into himself.
