Character History
Five Years Gone
Claire Bennet, living as Sandra, is living in Midland, TX as a waitress. She is engaged to Andy. She watches a clip of the president on television, and when Andy teases her about him, she says that the president is old enough to be her father. Afterwards, Mr. Bennet shows up and informs Claire that someone knows about her and she needs to leave as soon as possible. Claire says she is tired of moving around again-from California to Nevada and back to Texas- and doesn't want to leave Andy. Later, Claire asks Andy if they can go off and elope. He agrees and goes off to get his things. Matt Parkman, sitting at a booth watching the whole thing, confronts Claire and takes her. Afterwards, in the Petrelli Mansion, Nathan and Claire talk. He says that all this time he thought she was dead and says that she has no idea how important she is to him. She counters saying that she's not important and is just a waitress. Claire accuses Nathan of making everyone afraid of the evolved humans. Nathan says that he made everyone aware of them. He says that the humans are naturally afraid because the evolved humans are stronger and more special. Claire fires back the response that Nathan does not have the right to decide who is special and who is not. Nathan responds that he is the leader of the free world and that he could be the most special person there is, but he says that he doesn't need anymore power. Claire turns to leave, but Nathan stops her with telekinesis. He starts to slice her head open. Claire whispers, "Sylar" and then he drops the illusion to show that he truly is Sylar.
Powers
