Talk:Invisibility Series (painting)

This is a really cool page, but I'm not too sure about the image map. With the Homecoming paintings, the characters themselves said the paintings could be arranged like a comic. I'm afraid the image map here might be implying the same thing about these paintings, and that's speculation.--Hardvice (talk) 20:57, 15 February 2007 (EST)

  • I agree. I'm kind of ambivalent about the image map. I don't think it serves any purpose, but I don't think it's hurting anything. They're laid out in the order they appeared, so it's not really speculation, but you're right, there's a misleading implication. Plus, the order really doesn't have anything to do with the story, as opposed to the Homecoming Series. But again, I don't really mind the map. I do agree, though, that the realizations either needs to be laid out differently or scrapped altogether in favor of the prophecy page. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:23, 15 February 2007 (EST)
    • On top of that, since the prophecy section is in chronological order anyway, the chronology seems kind of superfluous. And that is what makes me think it draws attention to the chronological order and the way they're fitted together, as though it Means Something.--Hardvice (talk) 23:31, 15 February 2007 (EST)
      • You know, the more I look at it, the more it bugs me -- it seems to imply something, which is a bit too much. I hate to get rid of it because it looks really nice, but it's just not right.         • Feel free to ax it.. I only created it to make it consistent with the homecoming series in terms of looks, and I thought it was more attractive and more space efficient than just putting all 5 of the images one after the other. :) --Frantik (Talk) 23:12, 18 February 2007 (EST)
  • I like the idea of making it more Prophecy-like, with painting and realization, and keeping the order in chronological order. Plus, we get more usage out of those Templates. There really wasn't any sense from the show that the paintings were another "comic page". Seventh Invisibility prophecy

I'm pretty sure the image Isaac paints at the end of Unexpected is part of this series. Right before Peter shows up, there's a shot of Isaac going from white eyes to normal eyes. Behind him is where Peter is standing, but you don't see him because he's invisible. Sure he's actually visible to Isaac when the painting is realized to us in the audience, but Peter was standing there a second before while invisible as well. --Frantik (Talk) 09:20, 20 February 2007 (EST)

  • iawtc -- we don't know if Peter was invisible or not when he showed up at Isaac's. Regardless, all the other paintings are of invisible people, so it would be odd to show one of a closeup of Peter's face.
