Mason Storm is the Owner and CEO of Tomorrow Tech. A leading edge technology firm specializing in electronic communications. Leader of The Circle, an organization of evolved humans. He uses Tomorrow Tech and The Circle to further his aim for total world domination. He is bigoted towards normal humans and is determined to put them in their place. The weak and ordinary are meant to serve the next rung in the human evolutionary ladder. He sees himself at the top of that ladder, leading the righteous gifted humans that serve The Circle. He does not tolerate disobedience or opposition whether it come from a normal or an evolved human. All will bow down before him, or they will be removed, permanently.


Character History

§ Tomorrow Tech

There is very little known about Mason Storm since 2005 and nothing before then. It is possible that this is an alias. Since becoming active in 2005, he has created a giant in the electronic communications field, Tomorrow Tech. He created it with the help of two other evolved humans, a hacker that goes by Xer0, gifted with Technopathy (w/Electronic Communication byproduct) and Selene Taylor (aka Circe), gifted with Transmutation. Under Mason's direction the company is currently at the forefront of their field. Thanks in no small part to their gifts but also to the vision and drive of Mason who sees this as a stepping stone to his ultimate goal. Nothing is known of how these three came together in the first place.

§ The Circle

These three also formed a clandestine organization to further their goals, The Circle. The realized that they could not be the only evolved humans in the world. They decided that they would actively pursue any leads they could come up with to increase their ranks. Mason knew that raw power was not way enduring power would last, but he was not ignorant, there is strength in numbers after all. While they would find a place for all that they found, the truly beneficial would be privy to so much more. They believe in a caste system. Everyone has a station and they cannot move higher or lower only laterally withing the benefits of each.

§ 5 Year Plan

The core developed a five year plan to develop the basis for the world to be. They have diversified their assets and are a force in the financial community. Money is not really an issue thanks to Circe, but the power that it brings cannot be overlooked. As far as finding other specials that was a little more challenging until Xer0 came across information regarding Building 26. The gathered information on over fifty specials (little information remained, the government was thorough). Of all profiled to see if they would fit in, most were of no real use with limited abilities (Betas). The four Alphas that they did find favorable were prizes one and all.

The first alpha recruited was am exceptionally powerful teleporter named Tisha Reynolds (aka FedEx). She had been earning a living as a thief. She would teleport into a bank, loot what she could and teleport out (this is how she came to the attention of Building 26). Xer0 tracked her down and they offered her a job to see what she could do. She completed the assignment and they revealed their own talents to her. She did not believe so Mason arranged for a demonstration. He had Xer0 take clean out all of the accounts that she kept under aliases all over the world. She was freaked. When she calmed down she was told that it was only a demonstration and all of her monies would be returned if she heard them out. She listened and liked what she heard. They told her she would be a cut above the norm and lead not follow. The world was theirs.

The second alpha was a very dangerous special. A gestalt being going by the moniker Double Trouble. DoubleTrouble is composed of twins, Jayne and Jayna Roberts. A telepath of the first order and a telekinetic respectively. They relied on themselves from an early age and were small time until they attempted to toy with a person with a very dangerous ability of his own. They were merged and upon realizing what happened, killed the person responsible in haste (not realizing he may have been able to restore them). Their joint minds make them immune to other telepaths but also prevented them from being an Omega level evolved human because they shared control over their single body. They are regularly in agreement but have been known to fight amongst themselves (a funny sight to say the least). They were captured by The Circle (using foot soldiers because of the danger involved). Mason mimicked their abilities and had her wakened. They were not pleased but Mason promised them that they would find someone to split them. They did not have to think very long seeing as they had few options and joined. They have grown to enjoy the promise of what The Circle offers and are completely loyal.

The third alpha was thought to be a shape shifter but was actually something more. He has the ability to morph into anything he had sampled by physical contact (even if the item was incomplete or all he had of the organism was some DNA). Rene Pascale (aka Changeling) was by far the easiest addition. He came looking for The Circle. He never mentioned how he found out about the organization but petitioned to Mason himself. Elaborately stating the benefits someone of his talent would be to the organization.

The next target was acquired only temporarily. Zhang Zhi (aka Shaolin). He was recruited for his ability even though he did not fit the profile they were looking for. He needed a nudge and DoubleTrouble provided it. He was held under their sway until he was freed by Paul Horatius (aka Chronos). The Circle realizes they have a pair of dangerous evolved humans gunning for them. They are currently trying to arrange their removal from the game.

Their fourth alpha acquisition is an evolved human that presents the same threat an absorber or deactivator poses to other evolved humans, Aaron Beesly (aka TheSiphon). This was a difficult process because while Aaron had no desire to damage Mason, he had no reason to join. He felt his gift of Ability Transference a waste because he could not keep or access any of the abilities he would take. Mason convinced him to return to one of their facilities with the promise of giving him something to make him more than what he was. He returned and Mason guided him to a holding facility where three young children were. There were curious triplets, two identical boys and a fraternal girl. Mason mimicked Aarons's ability and then used it on one of the boys. He then gave Aaron what he took, the ability of Mental Manipulation. Aaron was overjoyed and inquired about the other children. Mason informed them that those abilities were meant for others. Mason had made him better as promised. This earned Aaron's trust and loyalty. He did not have any feelings for the child whose power he now held. It was just a stepping stone to a brighter future for him.

§ The Triplets

The children were captured in Argentina. They had no idea what was going on and were slightly drugged for the most part. Mason had kept them for himself. He mimicked their abilities of Intuitive Aptitude and Rapid Cellular Regeneration. He realized that these abilities were powerful as was the one he sacrificed to Aaron. He would love to have kept them all but thought Aaron needed something to convince him to join. After he mimicked the abilities, he used ability transference to remove the abilities and let them lapse. They were to tempting as far as he was concerned, so he removed the temptation and then, he removed the children.

§ Acquisitions

Upon obtaining the ability to circumvent the limitation of his power, he embarked on collecting as much power as he could. This would be the initial manifestation of the "Hunger" for more. He used the information available and obtained several abilities before learning the consequence of taking too much too fast. He would hunt them down, stop time, mimic there abilities and dispose of them. He managed to acquire Phasing, Laser Emission and Enhanced Strength. Things were going well until he ran into a couple in Peru. He froze time and attempted to mimic their abilities simultaneously. As soon as he finished mimicking he double over in pain and time began to flow like normal. He managed to pull himself together enough to teleport home. He felt like his brain was on fire and quickly passed out. As soon as he came too, he realized something was wrong. He did not feel complete. He lost several of his favorite (and powerful) abilities, including STM, Telepathy and TK. After Double Trouble chose not to let him mimic them again, he retreated into himself and the rest of The Circle is concerned. They are seldom all in complete unison but they do agree that Double Trouble's abilities are theirs and they are free to decline loaning them to Mason.

Evolved Human Abilities

Mason is able to mimic the abilities of other evolved humans by physical touch. Originally he was able to mimic up to three abilities. He developed control over his ability to be able to retain up to five abilities. He has made it known to the upper members of The Circle, that five is his current limit. Unbeknownst to anyone, his newly acquired Intuitive Aptitude has removed this limitation. He is currently able to retain an unlimited amount of abilities. He cannot mimic more than one ability every seven days or risk overloading his system resulting in a random loss of thirty percent of all mimicked abilities (rounding up). He is currently not aware of this limitation. If this happens and he retains Intuitive Aptitude, he will learn of this limitation. If he does not retain Intuitive Aptitude, he will be left wondering what happened. He still has the capability of discarding abilities. With his increased control via Intuitive Aptitude, if confronted with a situation were he will lose abilities because of an overload he has a ninety percent chance of retaining RCR. There is nothing he fears more than not being alive to realize his desire for absolute control on Earth.

  • After losing STM he has become quick to anger. He is becoming obsessed with finding another special with the ability of STM to the exclusion of many of his other plans. This coupled with the fact that Double Trouble will not allow him to mimic either of their gifts (telepathy or {Telekinesis|TK]] has put him on edge). His IA couple with the amount of abilities he possesses has so far shielded him from her/their telepathic probe. He feels that they are becoming a liability that will need to be addressed.
  • Due to the combination of and his unrestricted ability to mimic, he is one of the most dangerous of all the evolved humans. Even though he is currently immortal, he is not willing to wait forever to achieve his goals.
