Theory Citations Notes
Elle is the daughter of Meredith. None. + Meredith, Elle, and Claire resemble each other.

- It is noted here that Elle was originally meant to be Meredith's daughter. However, the writers dropped it due to plot holes.
Little is known about Meredith's affairs to previously meeting Nathan.
- It is unlikely that, upon meeting her long-lost daughter, Meredith would not tell her about her sister.
+ Meredith did not tell Claire who her father was, so it is quite unlikely that she would of told her about her sister.
- Unlike Claire and Meredith, Elle does not have an ability that would help her survive the fire.

+ Meredith could have conceived Elle a year or two before the fire making Elle slightly older than Claire which in reality is plausible. Claire and Elle may battle each other at some point and the cause of this battle may have to do with something happening to Meredith.

+ Kristen Bell has stated that Elle and Claire share a deep relationship.
Kristen has also let slip that she and Hayden joke about being sisters.

+ It can also be a reference to an adoption from someone in the Company: Claire was adopted by Noah, Elle could be adopted too. Perhaps they share familiar feelings about adoption.
+ Elle stated in "Four Months Ago" that at age six, she burned her mother's house down. Claire's house burned down when she was a baby.
- In Hell's Angel, Meredith clearly lived in an apartment not a house.
- Elle said she had burned down her grandmother's house, not mother's.
- Elle is 24 years old, and Claire is 16-17 years old, so if Elle burned the house at the age of six, Claire wouldn't have been born yet.
+ Elle being 24 makes the fire happen 18 years ago, if Claire was 17 last year then she will be 18 this year, making the timeline fit.
Claire's age has been varied throughout, her actual age is not certain unlike Elle's.

Her power is similar to pyrokinesis, but so far evolved human families rarely share powers.

+ Maury and Matt share the same level of powers due to Matt's rapid ability development.
+ Meredith may have caused the fire in the house, and not known it. If this is true, then it is plausible that Elle was born a few years before Claire.

- Elle stated that she is 24. Meredith is known to be 35. For Elle to be Meredith's daughter she would have been concieved when Meredith was 11, which is highly unlikely and probably too unsavory for a TV show.

Elle is Matt Parkman's sister. None. + Matt's father has powers and abandoned him.

+ Matt's father is/was in the company.
- The Parkman family seems to be one of the few examples of similar abilities being passed down, as both father and son share variations of telepathy.

Elle is related to Niki somehow. None. + Just like Claire and Meridith, they all share some resemblance.
- They all have blond hair, but there are a lot of blond women in the world.
Elle is the sister of another evolved human with the same ability. None. + Many characters with electromagnetic powers are twins, sisters, or something else, representing a positive or a negative energy charge.
+ There are at least two other evolved humans with this power or something similar.
Elle is the sister of the future agent with a similar ability. None. + He would fit as the polar opposite for Elle personality.

+ Both work for an organization that deals with evolved humans.
Given the five year difference, they may be close in age.

Elle is the sister of the teenage patient with a similar ability. None. + The patient had the power to absorb electricity, while Elle seems to create it. Making their powers fit if they are twins/siblings.
Elle started the fire that Meredith and Claire supposedly died in. None. + In Four Months Ago..., Elle told Peter that she started a fire at her grandmother's house when she was 6. Elle also said that she was 24, making the incident 18 years ago. This comes within a year of Claire's birth timeline, possible overlapping it if facts are slightly inaccurate. Meredith would have been a reasonably young mother (around 20), and as stated in the graphic novel Hell's Angel she was living in an apartment complex, where many members of the same family can live. If this was Elle's grandmother's residence, Claire and Elle would at least be cousins, if not sisters.
- Hell's Angel heavily implies that Meredith started the fire. As Claude said, "the bitch blew up!"

+ Kristen Bell has stated that Elle and Claire share a deep relationship.
Claire's grandmother is Angela. If Elle is a sister or cousin to Claire who is Meredith's daughter, then one of the Petrelli's must of fathered Elle.
- If Elle is Meredith's daughter or niece then she could be referring to her grandmother on Meredith's side of the family, not the Petrellis.
- The character with pyrokinesis is more likely to cause a fire than the character with induced lightning.

- Lightning may cause electrical fires (Example: Peter's shirt ignites as Elle blasts him. (Four Months Ago))

- Elle says that she set her grandmother's house on fire (Four Months Ago...). Meredith was Claire's mother, but Elle is older than Claire is.

Elle has the ability to emit electromagnetic pulses. None. + Noah Bennet was able to describe to Ted Sprague the way to emit an EMP from the perspective of an evolved human.
Elle Bishop is the mother of Sylar's son from the future. None. - No mention of the identity of Noah's mother was made. Also, Sylar killed Elle's father, so it is unlikely she'd forgive him enough to have sex with him, much less give birth to his son.
+ Bob treated Elle horribly and Sylar really saved her from having to suffer under her father's wing any longer. Elle seams to have a lot of inner conflict and her and Sylar could relate on their troubles involving bad parenting.
- This seems more like fan fiction than a realistic story line. Elle still seemed to care about her father even though he was harsh on her. In fact he seemed to be the only person she didn't question and sought the approval of.

- It's likely that Sylar's son will play no further role in the show. As that possible future will be prevented in some way.
+ Zachary Quinto has said that the person he has a son with is a character that has already appeared on Heroes. I doubt the writers would ever have it be Claire since they are smart enough not to do an uncle niece relationship like that. Tracy is with Nathan. Maya is currently with Mohinder. Kimiko isn't in it enough, and I highly doubt that it will be her. Also Barbara might be with Adam Monroe, and I just don't see it. So that leaves Elle, who may have had scrapes with Sylar in the past, but it is a TV show and they could have them be together if they found an understanding. I know Sylar killed her father but he did do experiments on her which took a toll on her sanity. It has also been revealed that Sylar and Elle will have a story-arch with each other in a few episodes. Zachary Quinto also said that the character has a silver-tongue. I think the creators also know how popular that pairing is to several fans. Hopefully it is so.
+ Noah had much lighter hair than his father, indicating that Noah's mother may have had blond hair, not unlike Elle.
+ Elle seems to trust HRG - enough to go looking for him to help her get control over her powers. In the wake of her father's death, Elle may see HRG as a new father figure and may have been the person who named Noah in his honor.
+ In Villains, it is revealed that Elle and Sylar have history together. She blames herself for him becoming a serial killer; now that he has started to redeem himself (and they are both at Pinehearst) they may conceive a child.

Elle will become Claire's main enemy. None. + They already have a strong dislike for each other.

+ Other heroes have nemesises such as Hiro vs Daphne, Peter vs Sylar.
+ In many ways, their personalities and lifestyles have been polar opposites.
- In the episode Eris Quod Sum, Elle and Claire seem to be developing at least a little bit of mutual respect.

Elle is currently pregnant. None. + Being pregnant may be what is causing her to lose control over her powers.
- Claire and Elle seem to think that the reason for Elle's powers going out of control is directly related to Claire's lack of pain. So, unless they're both pregnant...
- Elle's grasping her stomach because she's in agonizing pain from shocking herself.

- As far as we know, Elle hasn't had sexual relations with anyone within the past three months. Though she may have had sexual contact with Peter, it's highly unlikely that he would actually have sex with her, given that he was just using her to escape.
+ Adam was locked up by the Company for a long time and was likely more willing to have sexual relations with Elle.

Elle's loss of control over her own powers could be related to Peter's loss of his powers. None. + Elle's infatuation with Peter and his ability to use her powers (which appears to be his favorite for fighting) could have caused her to inadvertently sync her electrical abilities with his making him the plus to her minus. When he lost his powers, hers went haywire.
- Claire's powers began to malfunction way before Peter lost his powers.
- Elle doesn't seem to be infatuated with Peter anymore. They haven't seen each other for months, and when Elle saw Peter fall out of the building, she just ran off instead of helping him.
- Elle's loss of control seemed to begin after Sylar's attack on her at Primatech Research.
Elle's loss of control over her own powers could be related to Sylar's attack on her. None. + Elle's didn't start to lose her powers until after the fight. Maybe Sylar trying to remove her skull caused her ability to somehow leak out of her.

+ Claire's powers also began to malfunction immediately after Sylar attacked her.

- Claire's power isn't malfunctioning, but allowing her not to feel pain. It's just a new found addition to the ability.

+ Elle has been through many emotional experiences, this could cause her to loose control of her ability.

Elle's power is synthetic and her sudden loss of control is due to the fact that she was injected with an imperfect version of the formula none

+ Elle said they did testing on her, also HRG said when she was brought in she was a just a normal girl.

- By normal he meant happy, not a psychopath, he also mentioned them wanting to know how much electricity she could generate, implying she manifested an ability quite early in life.

- Elle's ability manifested during her childhood, all characters confirmed to have synthetic abilities manifested only in adulthood.

+ This could only be because Elle was forced to manifest her ability by her father when he did testing on her.
