Since there is quite a while until the episodes return the novel writers come up with unrelated story lines. This is what happened with the season 1-2 break. - Even if Linda survived, she would be a little bit old to be Adam's newest wife. + Adam is 400 years old. He's been with dozens of women young and old. + During those 40-odd years, she could have gained a power that slowed her aging.

Just because Linda can take abilities by killing, it doesn't mean she kills only people with abilities.
