Isaac Mendez creates a series of six prophetic paintings that depicts the events of Homecoming at Union Wells High School.
Paintings as Ordered by Peter Petrelli

In Hiros, Isaac Mendez and Peter Petrelli are working together to find out the meaning of "Save the cheerleader, save the world". They discover that Isaac's paintings can be arranged to tell a story like a comic book. Once this is done, there is a missing piece in the upper-left corner of the full picture. Isaac recalls that he painted a picture the correct size, but Simone has taken that painting to her gallery.
Although Peter correctly guesses that the paintings represent future events, he incorrectly orders the paintings.
Paintings Ordered Chronologically
The proper sequence of events are:
- Sylar confronts Claire Bennet and Jackie Wilcox in the locker room, and murders Jackie.
- Claire escapes, and runs down the school hallway
- Claire runs into Peter Petrelli in the main foyer. Sylar proceeds to use his telekinesis to throw locker doors at Peter.
- Claire runs out to the auditorium steps, where she is covered by a menacing shadow.
- Peter and Sylar wrestle at the top of the steps, and fall. Peter is mangled, and "dies" as the school clock strikes 8:12pm.
- The next day, Hiro and Ando visit the school, and stand under the bloody banner.
Notes
- In an interview at the Comic Reel, Heroes writers Joe Pokaski and Aron Coleite stated the proper chronological order of the paintings.
Trivia
- In a forum post, Tim Sale said he went to Union Wells filming location and "climbed around on rooftops" as he sketched.
- In an interview, Tim Sale noted that he made two versions of the painting with Sylar standing over a cheerleader: one that was unfinished and one that was finished. Tim said that Milo Ventimiglia is "kind of just painting red on an area that’s already red. [He] didn’t actually paint any of the figure, that’s all me. But they cropped it really low-down on the painting, I imagine because they wanted to have actual paint dripping off the edge of the canvas. The figure of the cheerleader is much further down on the canvas than on my original composition, so it looks more awkward and funny than the original does. But I like the figure of Sylar, I like the shadow being cast that way."
- According to corinthianlasvegas.com, a copy of the painting of Hiro and Ando under the Homecoming banner is kept in Linderman's archives. The painting is titled Tourists. This painting has not been seen in the archives outside of Heroes 360. Isaac claims to have stopped selling his prophetic paintings once he realized what they were (One Giant Leap), and the only painting from this period seen to date in the archive is a reproduction of the explosion painted on the floor.
