On our handling of the upcoming webisodes...

Through various grape vines, they are set to start airing on the 14th of July. How are we going to handle them? Are we going to make a namespace for them, and handle them like Lospedia did their Missing Pieces (there is a page for each webisode there) or are we going to do like we did for Sword Saint and Global News Interactive? --SacValleyDweller (talk) 16:02, 7 July 2008 (EDT)

  • Do you know how long they're each going to be? I'm inclined to create a Webisode namespace so we can have articles for each one. (Admin 16:15, 7 July 2008 (EDT))
    • dunno, I just get some message board hits and a few two bit entertainment sites and blogs from a Google search --SacValleyDweller (talk) 16:41, 7 July 2008 (EDT)
    • I'd like articles for each one. There's no harm in that. --DocM 16:35, 7 July 2008 (EDT)
      • Me too --SacValleyDweller (talk) 16:41, 7 July 2008 (EDT)
        • I setup a Webisode namespace earlier that we can use. If for some reason we decide later on that it's not really appropriate we can move them out easily, though I suspect a separate namespace will be the way we want to go. (Admin 16:46, 7 July 2008 (EDT))
          • Sounds good to me, I think they'll need their own namespace. -- Friskymuffin - (talk) 16:52, 7 July 2008 (EDT)
          • cool! B) --SacValleyDweller (talk) 17:20, 7 July 2008 (EDT)
            • If the webisodes are going to be what I think they are (and if there is going to be more than, say, five), then a webisode namespace is the best idea, just as we have a graphic novel namespace and an episode namespace. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:29, 7 July 2008 (EDT)
  • That's great that the namespace is already set up. Since we already know the name of the first webisode, would it be okay to begin templates and a draft article for it before its release?--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:46, 7 July 2008 (EDT)
    • Regarding the main page, I think we're better off using something like "Webisodes Edition One: Going Postal" since "Going Postal" only applies to the first three webisodes. Also, we don't do "Heroes: Graphic Novels" or "Heroes: Episodes" as articles, so I think the actual webisodes should be in "Portal:Webisodes" with "Heroes: Going Postal" as a redirect. PS: According to NBC's new Heroes webisodes portal, the first Webisode has been renamed to "A Nifty Trick".--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:27, 7 July 2008 (EDT)
      • As an alternative (and at this point, I'm fine with whatever we go with), reflecting these new developments, how about we do this: the page name is "Webisode: Going Postal". Then, we format the page thusly:
==Part One: "A Nifty Trick"==
==Part Two: "title"==
==Part Three: "title"==

--SacValleyDweller (talk) 00:57, 8 July 2008 (EDT)

  • That initially sounds like a good idea. This is my speculation, but the preview has so many scenes that I think each part will be running at least 20 minutes. That would make the entire thing 1 hour combined and equivalent to one episode. They'll be advance-screening part 3 in it's entirety at Comi-con, so I doubt any part would be much longer than that due to time constraints, but I'd love to be wrong. :) However, with that unknown and the hassle of messing with the includes, and having multiple checklists on the same talk page, it may be easier to do them as separate pages. Perhaps we should do: Webisode:Going Postal, Part 1; and then use "A Nifty Trick" as the subtitle for that part. That's the way we do the multi-part graphic novels that have their own title and I think the same could work here.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:53, 8 July 2008 (EDT)

  • Could someone possibly include links for the webisode that people outside of the US can use. I'm from the UK and i know it would be greatly appreciated by the fan community out here. User:LilRebel616
    • This should help you out. (Admin 13:06, 16 July 2008 (EDT))

New Look

I saw this mentioned a while ago, why don't we go for a comic theme for the whole site? Intead of boxes have pannels on a comic?--Skywalkerrbf 13:26, 9 July 2008 (EDT)

  • I brought Talk:Main_Page#possible_look_change?something like this up once before (maybe that's where you saw it), though not the kind of look you're proposing. --SacValleyDweller (talk) 14:06, 9 July 2008 (EDT)
    • Yer that is what gave me the idea. --Skywalkerrbf 07:03, 10 July 2008 (EDT)
      • If this could be carried out in a simple, professional looking way I think it's a great idea. -- Friskymuffin - (talk) 16:46, 12 July 2008 (EDT)
        • I visit random wikis of shows I don't even watch just to see how good they are and [ some] have very nice looks. I'd be cool for HW to look like that but with a comic theme. Maybe something special for s3?--Citizen 20:22, 12 July 2008 (EDT)
  • The main promlem would of course be, how? --Skywalkerrbf 09:39, 13 July 2008 (EDT)

Hayden Ventimiglia? What do you guys think?--Riddler 16:42, 12 July 2008 (EDT)

  • Looks like just speculation for now.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:54, 12 July 2008 (EDT)

Chuck comics

DC Comics are doing online graphic novels for NBC's Chuck. Sadly, the PDF version is not available, but you can view them here in Interactive format.--MiamiVolts (talk) 05:01, 15 July 2008 (EDT)

Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Webisode

Act I of III is up now at, and very cool and funny... I recommend taking a look at it if you haven't already.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:49, 16 July 2008 (EDT)

HeroesWiki vs Lostpedia

Hey I am over here and on here and I think that we are doing rather well. We have half the pages they do and no I'm not saying that to get us down, think, Lost has had twice the series, so realy we're right on the ball :) I think that the site is doing really well and I am sure that it will grow a lot through the next series. --Skywalkerrbf 13:26, 17 July 2008 (EDT)

Character Histories Round 2

Season Three is getting near and I was wondering if anyone else was thinking about condensing the character histories like we did for Season One? I vote we nip it in the butt now before we have new episodes to worry about. ---- Ohmyn0.jpgOhmyn0talk.jpg 19:17, 30 July 2008 (EDT)

  • There is no reason what so ever not to :) we should get along to do it as soon as possible, just as you suggest. Pierre 19:24, 30 July 2008 (EDT)
    • While I think this is a good Idea, I also think that, when it comes to putting the Season 2 summary on the page, we ought to do that during the last week before Season 3 starts. Lat I checked, according to unwriten policy, the GNs coming out up until then count as Season 2. I sugest it be done this way: go ahead and put the Season 2 history on the subpages, adding any GN developments there and on the actual page. Then, somebody writes the summaries, but stores them at home until the last week before the premiere. At that time, the summaries get posted.--SacValleyDweller (talk) 00:03, 31 July 2008 (EDT)
      • Agree. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:11, 31 July 2008 (EDT)
        • Also agree. I'm sure Bennet and Elle will get more information. --DocM 09:24, 31 July 2008 (EDT)
