  • Hey, welcome to the wiki. :) It's always great to see people from the UK here looking for info, too. Saw two of your last discussions on the talk pages and wanted to let you know that new discussions go at the bottom of the talk page rather than the top. In fact there's a + tab at the top of any talk page that you can click to start a new discussion that will automatically take care of adding it to the bottom of the page. Thanks and welcome again! :) (Admin 11:35, 28 May 2008 (EDT))
    • Thanks, that's all good to know! Just one thing - is there any way you can automatically add the (Admin 11:35, 28 May 2008 (EDT)) to the end of a post? I'm sure this has something to do with signature but I haven't yet figured out how to do it... -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 11:36, 13 June 2008 (EDT)
      • Check out Help:Signatures. That question was answered by the welcome message on your talk page you deleted a little while ago. ;) (Admin 12:02, 28 May 2008 (EDT))

Most recent UK episode

  • Sometimes we forget to update the UK episode of the week on the main page quickly enough, so if you happen to be around here after Heroes airs and want to update it, feel free. The template to update is here and you just replace the old episode name with the new episode name where it appears in the template. The template shouldn't be updated until after the episode has finished airing in the UK. (Admin 16:27, 28 May 2008 (EDT))
    • Sure thing, I'll certainly be on here when the UK episode airs so I'll update as soon as it finishes airing on BBC. I'll update the latest Heroes Unmasked as well on the HU page :) -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 11:36, 13 June 2008 (EDT)
      • That'd be fantastic! Thanks! (Admin 16:36, 28 May 2008 (EDT))
        • No worries! I'm in the middle of updating the Unmasked page at the moment actually, it hasn't been edited since the first episode about a month back so it needed one :P -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 11:36, 13 June 2008 (EDT)

GN checklist

Hi Friskymuffin, the instant messaging article isn't complete until it gets a related image in the gallery from R&B, part 2. That's why I undid your mark. You might also want to check Special:Recentchanges to see if there's any comments left as to why one of your changes is undone.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:47, 10 June 2008 (EDT)

  • Before adding a large number of redirects like that, it's a good idea to discuss it first just to make sure it's necessary and people are in agreement. Otherwise they may get deleted and it only wasted your time. :) For instance I don't think we need those redirects nor should we ever use them. We refer to episodes by their name for clarity; referring to an episode by "season 1 episode 3" makes it more difficult to identify the episode. I'm definitely interested in hearing other opinions, though. :) (Admin 12:43, 12 June 2008 (EDT))
    • Yeah I agree that they may never be linked like that in an article, but I think it makes it easier for people who don't know the name of an episode to find it, rather than going to the season page then finding the episode. Then again, maybe that's just me :P -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 11:36, 13 June 2008 (EDT)
      • Hmm... that's an interesting point. :) (Admin 13:34, 12 June 2008 (EDT))
        • I just noticed they did it on Lostpedia, when I want to find an episode I search like that, and thought it could come in handy here. At least its there if needed. If it gets deleted, then no hard feelings! -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 11:36, 13 June 2008 (EDT)

Hey, FM--you've been working hard today! :) Here's a quick tip for your signature, though it's in no way mandatory. You might want to consider making an "autosig" page in addition to your sig page. All you would do is place {{User:Friskymuffin/Sig}} on the page, and then change your preferences so your nickname says {{SUBST:User:Friskymuffin/Autosig}}. This would prevent having all that code on the talk pages every time you sign your name. Let me know if you'd like more info about it... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:37, 12 June 2008 (EDT)

  • I've just done that, thanks! I've always wondered what autosig pages were for, guess I know now! :) -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 18:44, 12 June 2008 (EDT)

If this ain't the fanciest userpage system I've seen... Impressive work! --SacValleyDweller (talk) 00:20, 17 June 2008 (EDT)

  • Thanks! :D I just wanted something a little unique, so I had a look at loads of other userpages for inspiration and set about making it look a bit nicer :) -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 06:49, 17 June 2008 (EDT)
    • A little unique? You bought out the whole Uniqueness store! LOL. nice work! --SacValleyDweller (talk) 00:27, 19 June 2008 (EDT)

You can check Heroes_Wiki:Current_events#Articles_for_deletion for a list of the articles up for deletion.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:26, 4 July 2008 (EDT)

  • Yeah, I noticed that, it's just that most have been marked for months without being deleted, so I thought I'd give them a bump and let the admins do their thing. Most are useless and should be deleted without discussion anyhow, it just seems like they're going unnoticed. -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 14:30, 4 July 2008 (EDT)
    • I guess most of the administrators are busy with other things now. BTW, if you're going through all the theory pages can you fix the br (new line) tags? They should all be closed with a space and / to be w3c compliant. (i.e. use <br /> and not <br>).--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:40, 4 July 2008 (EDT)
      • I've gone through far too many to back through those now, but for the rest (I've only gone through about a third) I'll make sure I change the tags. -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 14:41, 4 July 2008 (EDT)

Hi, thanks for welcoming me. I did think of the possibility that telekinesis caused the slicing. But I thought there wasn't as much evidence in favor of it rather than the possibilities of it being a separate ability. I should've known that there'd be a discussion on new pages, can I ask where this section is? Again thank you and sorry. Rybo

  • I can see where you're coming from, and I partly agree, but like I said I think for now we have to accept that the show points to telekinesis being the weapon of choice for brain removal. There isn't a specific page for discussing new pages (as far as I know), but if you thought we should have a slicing page, you could comment on the telekinesis talk page, Sylar talk page, brain removal talk page, or even create a talk page for slicing by creating the page Talk:Slicing. I wouldn't do this now seeing as slicing isn't a confirmed ability, but in future one of these methods would be the best for creating a new page you think we might need, if you see what I mean.
    • No reason to apologise, we all make mistakes! We're glad to have you here! Also another thing to note, when you write a talk page message, you should include your signature (you can find instructions and help on signatures on your talk page in the big welcome box). If you have any other questions feel free to contact me. -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 18:36, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
      • I don't have a signature though, so surely I need to make one first?
        • Also I posted 'Slicing' under the 'ability theft' page, I will go remove it if you haven't already. Rybo
          • four squiggly things? that's it isn't it? Rybo5000 19:16, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
        • I went ahead and removed that after Admin deleted the slicing page, seeing as it's no longer relevant. You don't need to make a signature because it will automatically appear as it has above, with a link to your page. But you can custom make one, if you need more help with that then I can give you some tips, it is rather nice to have a unique signature! Also, when you add a comment to a talk page, make sure you add a little star (*) so that it indents your comment. Each star is the number of replies, so if you leave the third comment (as above) go ahead and put two stars before your message. I've edited your reply so you can see what it should look like in future. But looks like you're getting the grip of the site pretty quickly! -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 19:25, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
          • Okay I think I'm getting everything now, thanks for all your help and I'll be sure to bear you in mind if I have any future problems. Thanks for everything. Rybo5000 06:07, 7 July 2008 (EDT)

Abilities with multiple users

I'm pretty sure this list is about abilities with multiple users that appeared naturally, not abilities that were repeated due to power mimicking/absorption (in fact, the article mentions "Aside from abilities which are mimicked or stolen..."), otherwise we would have to add melting, phasing, space-time manipulation, enhanced hearing, etc to the list. But I don't want to start an edit war over it.--Referos 20:36, 7 July 2008 (EDT)

  • Ahh I see what you mean. To be honest I hadn't seen that notice before, and I presumed that because it showed abilities that Peter and Sylar had absorbed, it meant any ability that more than one person could use. I haven't ever really looked at that article closely. My mistake, I do apologise! -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 06:40, 8 July 2008 (EDT)

  • I love Faraday, too. I didn't realize until pretty recently that he was the squirrely guy in Saving Private Ryan. Faraday is awesome because he helps reveal some of the odd secrets about the island. With the exception of the Dharma scientists I don't know who else would understand it as well as he. Maybe Whitmore... but Faraday knows the scientific reasons. (Admin 23:17, 11 July 2008 (EDT))
    • Oh i didn't know that either! But I haven't seen that film in a while. Yeah I like him 'cause he seems really intelligent and he does reveal a lot of secrets and stuff, and he also seems rather unusual and eccentric, I don't know what it is, but I just can't help but love him. The Constant was one of my favourite episodes because it was mostly about him, I loved all the stuff about his experiments at Oxford. -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 05:38, 12 July 2008 (EDT)

Thanks! I really enjoy doing it tbh i could do it all day. I have sent off about 12 emails and have had 3 back already, I've only been doing this two days! Thanks again. --Skywalkerrbf 17:08, 14 July 2008 (EDT)

  • Yeah it's great, you're doing a great job! Are you on lostpedia as well? -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 17:10, 14 July 2008 (EDT)
    • Yer I am but I have only done one interview over there, they didn't want me to help lol. I have now sent off 40 emails and have had 10 back. --Skywalkerrbf 08:14, 18 July 2008 (EDT)
      • That's really great, you're doing a good job! Like Admin said, if you space them out a bit, maybe submitting one a week or so, it could make the interviews last until Volume Three starts up again, so people will keep coming back during the hiatus :) -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 14:00, 18 July 2008 (EDT)

Spoilers in theory pages...

I believe anything in a preview clip or elsewhere is a spoiler. Official policy, last I checked, is to confine all spoiler material, discussion of it, and specualtion on it (including previews) to the Spoiler namespace and only there. I know that you have modified spoiler stuff at Theory:Peter Petrelli. Spoilers in the theory space is one of the things I dread when I'm patrolling. In your future browsings at the theory space, would you mind clearing all spoilers and speculation based on previews out of there, please. Thanks. --SacValleyDweller (talk) 18:55, 17 July 2008 (EDT)

  • Yeah of course, that's my mistake, I thought officially released trailers (NBC videos) were not spoilers because they were meant to be released by NBC, and not just rumours and inside sources and stuff. Thanks for the heads up though, and since I mostly modify theory stuff, I'll be sure to get rid of anything else I see. Sorry SVD! -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 19:00, 17 July 2008 (EDT)
    • Forgiven, FM :), though the damage is done :(. For future reference, take a look at Help:Spoilers. --SacValleyDweller (talk) 20:13, 17 July 2008 (EDT)
      • Thanks, I'll take a look now. I hope your anticipation of Volume Three isn't too spoiled :( -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 06:39, 18 July 2008 (EDT)

Thanks for your help. I have only just got back today from my holiday after a 23 hour delay so updating everything is going to take some time. I have 3 new people agreeing to interviews to post and 3 people to get questions together for and send off, so your help has really helped me a lot. --Skywalkerrbf 07:33, 10 August 2008 (EDT)

  • No problem :) I think you're doing a great job getting all the interviews, and I think you've spread them out quite well now, so don't be afraid to ask if you need me to copy them up/edit them or whatever, cos I'm always happy to help :) -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 12:49, 10 August 2008 (EDT)
    • Thanks. I think I should be ok from now on, but what would help is submitting questions to any of the interviews. --Skywalkerrbf 12:54, 10 August 2008 (EDT)
      • Okay, I'll try and get some questions together for the interviews :) -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 12:56, 10 August 2008 (EDT)
        • Thanks. I am sending off Mark Steger, Brian Prescott and Yule Caise tomorrow so if you could submit any questions to them then that would be great. --Skywalkerrbf 17:53, 10 August 2008 (EDT)
          • I'm done for the night actually, so I can't submit any questions for those unfortunately. When I'm all up to date on my to do list I'll make sure I take a look at all your other upcoming interviewees. -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 17:51, 10 August 2008 (EDT)

Manon Dave

Hello, Friskymuffin. I am a Wikipedia editor who while recently doing a little research noted an article that you created here. The article in question is Manon Dave, who the article credits as the Season 2 Composer for Heroes. The correct composer credits for the series are Lisa Coleman and Wendy Melvoin- Manon Dave appears to be a musician on Myspace attempting to pad his resume by falsifying articles on sites with user-submitted content. If you would like to correct the information and/or delete the page, or alternately if you can find any corroborating information to show that Manon Dave is indeed associated with the show, please let me know, as it means that I would be in error. Thank you for your time! --SRadnan121 15:30, 12 August 2008 (EDT)

  • Hey there, thanks for your message :) I never actually found out that Dave was part of the Heroes team, I saw we needed a page doing for him here so I created one based on any information I could find. He was already credited with being composer for Season Two, I simply made the page. It's an interesting query though, having checked around the net I've found snippets suggesting a couple of his songs have been on the show, and one unverified claim that he was indeed the composer. I'll have to check where we got the information from in the first place, to see if he was in fact a composer for Season Two or not. Thanks for bringing this to my attention! -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 15:43, 12 August 2008 (EDT)
    • Thanks for the quick response! I appreciate your effort- I copied the message to another logged-in editor that had contributed to the page in hopes that he might be able to turn something up, as well. Thanks again! --SRadnan121 15:46, 12 August 2008 (EDT)
      • You're welcome! I'd never considered whether he was legit, but I guess it's worth looking into. Either way, thanks for letting us know and being so helpful! -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 15:48, 12 August 2008 (EDT)

To Do list

Hey Bob, I noticed on your to do list you say you need help with the timeline. I'd be help with that or anything else on the list if you like? No obligation of course, just thought I'd mention it. -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 18:32, 12 August 2008 (EDT)

  • Thanks for the help. I think it's archived by now, but there's a small discrepancy with the dates and difference in time during the first season's timeline. It's a pain, but in Five Years Gone, Mohinder gives a date when Peter met Future Hiro. However, the date doesn't correspond with some other dates that are concrete. The main reason for this is the assumption that all events in an episode are happening simultaneously and in the same day. It's just me being nit-picky, but it's nothing too bad. It's been resolved for the most part, so it's not pertinent. The things on my to-do list that need help anytime soon are season two summaries (see some of the season one summaries for examples) and cleaning up all the theory pages (a lot of them are pretty bad). Thanks for the help!--Bob (talk) 18:36, 12 August 2008 (EDT)
  • Okay, I see - in fact I saw that episode the other day and did notice the date didn't seem quite right. I'll give some of the season two summaries a go when I have chance though, so I'll check out some examples and do what I can. A few weeks ago I went through all the theory pages and gave them a (albeit not very thorough) clean up, fixing the <br> tags to <br /> and adding punctuation and correcting links and spelling where needed. But I didn't really look through much of the content, so that will probably need going over again. I'd be happy to do bits of that as well. With two of us it'll take half the time I guess! -- Friskymuffin - (new comment) 18:51, 12 August 2008 (EDT)
    • Sounds good. The cleanup in the theories pages was what I was talking about. Misspellings, grammar, punctuation and br tags (thanks for that btw). As for content, the one thing that appears a lot is debates, which belong on the talk page. If there's point/counterpoint over and over, but neither is a note to the theory, then it should be removed. I'll probably hit up some of the season two summaries as well. Peter's season one summary is a great example, but it's also a long one. Angela's could use some cleaning up. Thanks again.--Bob (talk) 19:28, 12 August 2008 (EDT)

British Flag?

Hi, this is SAMANTHA486e61, but you can call me Hana. I was wondering how you put the "I am from the United Kingdom" icon on your user page. By the way, I love Daniel Faraday too! The Constant was a great episode! Hey, did you know that Michael Faraday (the dude Dan Faraay was named for) was born n September 22, the day Oceanic 815 crashed?! You can reply to my user page. Thanks, SAMANTHA486e61

Thanks from Samantha486e61!

Thanks for the info on the British flag! I read on your page that you live in England. I live in London. Where do you live? I also love England (yes, even the weather). it can be rainy sometimes, but I love it anyway. I'm looking forward to 2009, when Lost premires again. Wonder what happened to Dan Faraday. He was in the middle of the ocean in the Zodic raft with a couple other redshirts. I think the island has a wide perimeter, so it's possible he traveled with it. I'm waiting for Daniel and Charlotte to get back together! I hope Faraday's okay. Anyway, Thanks again for the help.

Kissing Guy screen cap

I can provide the Unaired Pilot screen cap that you requested in July (sorry it's taken this long), but I need a little more information on where this Kissing Guy is. I flipped through the episode and didn't see any kissing guys in the likely spots (the park etc)...--Falcomadol 01:01, 28 October 2008 (EDT)
