Karen is a professor of literature at the University of Cambridge and documents the legend of Takezo Kensei in the documentary Sword Saint.

In Chapter 2, “The Trial of the Fire Scroll”, Professor Karen Chamberlin documents that legend states anyone who tried to steal the Fire Scroll, the ninety angry ronin would eat that someone.
In Chapter 3, “The Trial of the Hidden Fortress”, Karen documents that Takezo Kensei must find the missing piece to White Beard’s map, which the Black Bear of Sakashita is guarding.
In Chapter 4, Part 1, “Kensei and the Dragon”, Karen comments that the Dragon agrees to help Takezo Kensei as long as he gives up what he most loves in life. Kensei agrees and is able to then defeat White Beard. Kensei requests marriage to the princess and she agrees. Karen Chamberlin comments that their wedding was the most beautiful wedding in Japanese history.
In Chapter 4, Part 2, “Kensei and the Dragon”, Karen documents that Takezo Kensei died in the arms of his princess.
In Chapter 5, “The Mystery of Kensei”, Karen adds to Professor Donna Dorn’s comment by saying that Kensei and his sword are much like King Arthur and his Excalibur; Kensei had to pull the sword from a field of solid ice.
