Talk:Evan
Cellular Regeneration? or something else?
The true nature of Evan's ability seemed a little vague to me in the graphic novel, like Adam was jumping to the conclusion that Evan can heal. My first thought was that Evan is a sort of Multiple Man and can duplicate himself or something like that. It would explain how the army came out of nowhere. I wouldn't be surprised if in the next part of the novel, Adam is faced by an entire army of Evans. Anticrash 01:48, 22 November 2007 (EST)
- That's an interesting theory, but it sounds like you're jumping to conclusions, too. :) I'd say being stabbed multiple times and still being able to fight seems like it could very well be the same power Adam has. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:00, 22 November 2007 (EST)
- I immediately came to the same conclusion as anticrash. Regeneration doesn't really account for laying waste to a whole port town in an hour. -- Ewreck27 02:00, 22 November 2007 (EST)
- I agree, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see something not quite the same as Adam's ability.--Hardvice (talk) 02:24, 22 November 2007 (EST)
- Wagers? :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:46, 22 November 2007 (EST)
- I too believe that his power isn't P.C.R and i think Adam knew this aswell if he thought that Evan's Power was R.C.R then he wouldn't have stabbed him in the stomach, he would have stabbed him in the head. (by the way i'm new and this is my first ever edit :D) 6:11, 22 November 2007 (GMT) - knook
- can we deleate the bit about his ablity for now? -- Rbfskywalker 09:31, 24 November 2007
- *sigh* I suppose. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:55, 24 November 2007 (EST)
- Lol that's funny I also thought we were rash to call it Regeneration, and it is cloning, I think this is a good example that we should be careful, and not jump to conclusions in the future unless it's defnitive Dman dustin

Considering he was an adult in 1777, shouldn't we list him as deceased even though we don't have a date of death? Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 12:10, 18 December 2008 (EST)

- No, we only mark those deceased that we know are dead. Besides not knowing whether his ability lets him escape aging, there's also suspended animation or time travel as possibilities.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:03, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- Exactly right, Miami. Not only do we not have confirmation of a death (that's why Yaeko is not listed as dead), it's quite speculative to say that this particular guy is dead. Adam was never able to kill him, and we have no idea whether or not his clones exist today. It doesn't seem like there's a "root" like Julien, and we know from an interview that any of the Evan clones can clone themselves. That seems a bit like immortality to me, provided they're not all killed at the same time. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:45, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- As far as they were shown, clones are about the same age as the one they originate from, in a sense, they're all the same age, and they'd die of old age no matter how much they cloned themselves. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 17:15, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- Since we don't know how old Evan was is the story, and all the Evans shown were about the same age, that isn't proof that he would age normally. At the same time, there is no proof that he wouldn't age normally either, but unless we know for sure someone is dead, we don't mark them deceased.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:25, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- IE, logically, your point makes sense. But nevertheless, it is still speculative to supply a death date. There are alot of people who are probably and logically dead (Yaeko, Yumi, Swordsmith, Whitebeard, Journal female 3, etc...but it would be speculative for us to list them as dead, since we have no confirming information on their deaths. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 01/12/2009 17:32 (EST)

User:Shadowulf1 15:54, 20 April 2009 (EDT) Do the duplicates jump out of Evan's body? Then, the ability should be called Replication, not cloning; Cloning implies that the process happens by biological processes that Julien used, while Evan's just "jump" out of his body. They're doing the same thing (creating copies) but not by the same means. I recommend they be separated.
I think it'll be like Niki and Knox, there are some differences, but in the end, it's treated as the same ability. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 20:24, 20 April 2009 (EDT)
