Talk:List of references to Heroes
These are just the references I can come up with off the top of my head (the Kyle XY reference I saw tonight was totally original, and practically forced me to make this page)... I'm sure there are a bunch more. If anybody can remember any others, or if you spot any new ones, feel free to add it to the page. I think after we have it organized, we could probably move it into the mainspace. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:34, 27 August 2007 (EDT)
- This page is cool. :) --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 22:41, 28 August 2007 (EDT)
- Glad you like it. I'm sure there's more to add, though. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:38, 29 August 2007 (EDT)
- On Pulp Sport they had an episode "Save the Cheerleaders, Save the show" where they set off to get cheerleaders from a high-school English lesson, in order to save the show from falling off-air from not having a supermodel on anymore. The main cast somehow develop powers for the episode, Bill gains telepathy, Ben gains the "ability to find the end of a sellotape roll instantly". The 'Spray-and-walk-away-guy' acts as Hiro, but leaves because he hates pulp sport, returns to put Bill's Hand on Ben's groin and leaves again. noone here seems to be from New Zealand but me, so it isn't on the article. I'm not really wanting to find all the information and put it on the article due to chronic apathy, so anyone else who can find the information (or the episode itself.) is welcome to --Max 21:30, 16 December 2008 (EST)

Main article
- I suggest this be moved into the main article namespace. It's got some good information in it. (Admin 20:18, 1 September 2007 (EDT))
- I'll get on that soon. I'm wondering how to categorize it. It doesn't belong in Category:References because it's not a reference made in Heroes. Looking at Memory Alpha, they've categorized their counterpart page (actually they have quite a few, broken down by medium) in "Category:Star Trek". I guess that would make the most sense, to place it under Category:Heroes. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:51, 1 September 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah, Category:Heroes does make sense and fits in with the other articles in the category. (Admin 01:32, 2 September 2007 (EDT))

Portal / Lead pic
So I was wondering where to link this page for a portal, and if so, it'd be nice to have a lead pic. Any suggestions for either?--Bob (talk) 17:45, 20 October 2007 (EDT)
- I actually want to add a bunch of pictures to this page à la Memory Alpha. We could choose one of those images as a lead. I would imagine it'll be one of the many STCSTW parodies. Maybe the Family Guy one, or the one from The Simpsons? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:00, 20 October 2007 (EDT)
- I'd like to get a shot of Stewie as a cheerleader for Portal:Lists, but I can't find a live link to the video.--Hardvice (talk) 03:38, 21 October 2007 (EDT)
MadTV Parodies
MadTV has spoofed Heroes twice. Once was simply a reference [1] while the other [2] was a full-on parody. I'm not sure of the original airdates of the two segments, so I wasn't sure whether to add them yet. -- Paronine 20:44, 20 October 2007 (EDT)
Gallery?
Does anyone like the idea of adding a gallery to this page? --Ice Vision (talk) 16:22, 7 January 2008 (EST)
- Yes. Good luck finding pics. Most of the YouTube videos have been pulled. Mere mentions (like Kyle XY) do not make very good images. There are copyright issues with duplicating entire comic strips. If any images can be found, it might be better to right-float a thumbnail in the appropriate section rather than making a gallery. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:44, 7 January 2008 (EST)
- I took two screencaps (here and here). How do you think they should be set up? --Ice Vision (talk) 23:09, 7 January 2008 (EST)
- If they are standard 450x350px format, just place [[Image:<imagename>|<right or left>|225px]] where you want each image on the article (it should be placed above the text you want to float next to.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:12, 7 January 2008 (EST)
- I wouldn't force the width on any thumbnails. Actually, what I would do in this case (since there are two pictures and since the toc gets in the way) is make a small gallery within the Batman section, but beneath the text. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:54, 7 January 2008 (EST)

Uncyclopedia?
Maybe We Should Add This. http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Heroes Caleb234 22:28, 8 September 2008 (EDT)
Sarah Silverman quote
Sarah Silverman was on Real Time with Bill Maher awhile back, and she did this video thing (I never watch the show, but I think this may be a ref to Heroes). Her solution to end world hunger: "Sell the Vatican, Feed the World" and her build up to it: "Think about it, we need a hero, and who is more primed to be our hero than the Pope?"
Too broad? Maybe. Too indirect? Possibly. NBC gonna sue someone? Naw...... What do you guys think?
Let me just say, I find Silverman obnoxious and annoying, and needs to DIE. --Punxas 12:53, 15 November 2009 (EST)
- It's a great example of a reference to Heroes. Be sure that when you add it, you include information like the date of the episode. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:07, 15 November 2009 (EST)
Chuck
Chuck Versus the Pink Slip - Cautionary Tales
Agent of a nefarious organization kills an ambiguous character by shooting him through the glasses, followed by a close-up on the bloody bullet hole in said glasses.
Rapid Cell Regeneration in Chuck Versus the Subway
Was the abiltity even referred to as such before Heroes?
Both of these are obvious references (especially the first) and are just as credible as all the "<verb> the <noun>, <verb> the <noun>" references.
The one where Emmet gets killed, yes, I agree, it is a reference (unless NBC used the same guy as director?) but not so much the RCR. I think from now on, that's what the ability will be known as in most comic book shows, including chuck. I wouldn't say this was a direct reference to it. --mc_hammark 11:36, 18 June 2010 (EDT)
- Different directors, same network. --Boycool Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned. The second mouse wouldn't quit. He struggled so hard that eventually he churned that cream into butter and crawled out. Amen. 19:30, 18 June 2010 (EDT)
- Does RGS have a say in this? --Boycool Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned. The second mouse wouldn't quit. He struggled so hard that eventually he churned that cream into butter and crawled out. Amen. 19:54, 19 June 2010 (EDT)
- He can if he wants to, yes. --mc_hammark 20:49, 19 June 2010 (EDT)
- No, I mean does he have an opinion on this matter, since he's the one who removed the references. I'm not questioning his authority. --Boycool Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned. The second mouse wouldn't quit. He struggled so hard that eventually he churned that cream into butter and crawled out. Amen. 20:51, 19 June 2010 (EDT)
- This page is not a page to list similarities to Heroes. It is a page to list references in other works to Heroes. All the references on this page are either obvious references, mention the show or something from the universe of Heroes (like a character or catchphrase), or are confirmed to be references by authorities. The two references above are not obvious. If they are truly referring to Heroes (and not just a similar storyline or using the same borrowed name that Heroes uses), then they will need to be confirmed. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:16, 20 June 2010 (EDT)
- I think we can all agree the RCR reference is out. But the reference to Cautionary Tales is much more obvious than many of the references on this page (Many of which, by the way, are just similarities). If I need to confirm the reference, how do you suggest I do that? --Boycool Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned. The second mouse wouldn't quit. He struggled so hard that eventually he churned that cream into butter and crawled out. Amen. 13:33, 20 June 2010 (EDT)
- Let me also point out that Chuck is known to reference Heroes, and it is very likely they did it this time. By the way, the director's address is rdm@robertduncanmcneill.net. --Boycool Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned. The second mouse wouldn't quit. Captain America: The First Avenger
In the movie, Steve Rogers/Captain America tests and explains the eternal sobriety aspect of rapid cell regeneration. Does anyone know if that ability originated in Marvel Comics or on Heroes? --Boycool Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned. The second mouse wouldn't quit. He struggled so hard that eventually he churned that cream into butter and crawled out. Amen. 09:30, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- That's an old, old ability that Heroes reused and put their own little twist on. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:23, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- So comic book characters with RCR have unsuccessfully tried to get drunk? Ok. --Boycool Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned.
