Historical figure deaths

  • Yamagatofellowship confirms Benjamin Franklin's death, but not any of the rest of his family so I undid their deaths in the portal. Since this is fiction, real-life history is not necessarily Heroes history and rule of thumb has been if we don't have any confirmation of their death, we don't mark them dead, but it is fine to put the information in trivia.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:26, 5 March 2008 (EST)
  • But if Benjamin Franklin is dead, then why havnt we put his wife and his son as it was a few hundred years ago --(. .') 05:21, 5 March 2008 (EST)
    • This is the first time we've ever really had a real life historical figure featured in Heroes without their death being confirmed within the show or the auxiliary websites. Miami is right, though, the only one who is confirmed dead is Ben--and that's using yamagatofellowship, not Wikipedia. As for marking people dead just because they lived hundreds of years ago, we have an unwritten policy against it since their death simply isn't confirmed. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:55, 5 March 2008 (EST)

Suggestion: Portal:Sanjog-Related Graphic Novel Characters

I'd like to propose the creation of a portal for characters created for GN where Sanjog Iyer plays a central role (currently this include Different and the Same, Pieces of Me and History of a Secret. Although the stories isn't told from Sanjog's POV, these novels clearly have as much in common - if not more - as the novel written from Noah's POV.

Affected characters would include:

The HoaS and PoM characters are currently listed in this portal (Portal:Miscellaneous Graphic Novel Characters), while the DatS characters are listed in Portal:Noah-Related Graphic Novel Characters, which is rather odd, since Noah only appears briefly in the novel. Alright if I make this change? (which of course also would include the creation of Template:GN Sanjog, following the model of Template:GN Noah etc. Pierre 08:33, 9 July 2008 (EDT)

  • It sounds logical to me, and I personally like the idea. Good thinking! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:34, 9 July 2008 (EDT)
    • I guess this is okay, but please move back the characters from "The Kill Squad" back to the Miscellaneous graphic novels portal and template. As has been already mentioned once, they don't belong in the evsdropr-related portal and template.--MiamiVolts (talk) 10:00, 9 July 2008 (EDT)
      • Huh?? What? Why? The Kill Squad is an Evs Dropr novel.. ??? Pierre 11:36, 9 July 2008 (EDT)
        • Evsdropr isn't even mentioned in the novel, if anything it's Thompson Jr. related or Company related. But under the categories we have, they are miscellaneous. -- Friskymuffin - (talk) 11:57, 9 July 2008 (EDT)
          • As long as we got a category for Evs characters, every character appearing in the novels included in the Evs storyline ought to be included - otherwise the category doesn't have any significance. If we come to an agreement to delete Portal:evsdropr-Related Graphic Novel Characters, then I agree with you, but with the current model there are no other possible place to put the characters appearing in the Evs storyline novels, than in the Evs portal. Pierre 12:08, 9 July 2008 (EDT)
            • This isn't a novel in the Evs storyline.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:47, 9 July 2008 (EDT)
              • Right. As much as this seems like it's going to be an evs story (and I have a feeling it will), it's not at the moment. If that changes next week, then so does the designation. But this isn't a conversation about where The Kill Squad characters belong, but about the creation of a Sanjog-related portal. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:28, 9 July 2008 (EDT)

Shouldn't the upper row contain more characters? All other portals have their upper side fuller. Intuitive Empath 13:30, 22 November 2008 (EST)

  • Which ones? The standard for character portals (with very few exceptions, like Portal:Theories about Evolved Humans) is to have five portal cells. The last row can have anywhere from two to six. When the last row hits seven, we break it into five and two again. But I think all the other character portals have five in the top row. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:41, 22 November 2008 (EST)
    • I thought the number of characters per row was the same for all the portals, like if there are 16 characters, rows would be 5, 5, 5 and 1, not 5, 5 and 6. Intuitive Empath 13:49, 22 November 2008 (EST)
