Cole came to Lyneboro, along with twin sister, Mykah, searching for his cousin Amber.

The Civilian

In chapter 4 of The Civilian, Cole is first introduced sleeping in the yard of Rachel Mills house with his twin sister Mykah. Leona says they are friends of hers, and that she helped them out when Building 26 became interested in them. The teenagers followed the bikers to Lyneboro, in search of their cousin Amber, who they think might be traveling with that group.

Cole gives a tiny diamond to Rachel to give to Amber, telling Rachel, "She'll know who it came from". Later, Rachel finds Amber at the Capfield Memorial Park, and gives her the diamond, who she immediately recognizes as being from Cole. They then go to Mable's Diner, and the two are reunited.

Evolved Human Abilities

Cole has the ability to isolate carbon, which he generally obtains from carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Cole can create a few different forms of carbon, like graphite, layers of graphene, and sometimes nanotubes. When he concentrates, Cole can also create small flawless diamonds that are less than half a carat.

  • As an homage to Taylor Cole, HERO named Cole after the actress. He also used her likeness as Mykah's avatar.
