In the year 2001, Meredith and her partner, Tina Bui, present some files to Angela Petrelli in the hopes that she will recognise the dangers that people with abilities pose. However, Angela dismisses them and Meredith leaves with her partner.
Following one of Angela's dreams, Meredith and Tina are sent to Pinehearst to destroy the dangerous Company. While there, Meredith fights Mary Griffin. The two shoot flames at each other until Meredith finally shoots Mary in the head with a gun. After a momentary lapse in concentration, Meredith is attacked by Lois Freeman, who amplifies her ability 100 times over. Unable to control herself, Meredith explodes and destroys Pinehearst.
Evolved Human Abilities
Meredith possessed the ability to generate and manipulate fire. With this power, she was able to shoot concentrated streams of fire as well as generate large flames in and around her hands.
