Akira is a 1988 Japanese animated film by Katsuhiro Otomo, based on his manga.

About

Set in a future Tokyo, the film depicts a nuclear bomb that begins World War III. The focus of the movie is a gang of bikers led by the teenage Kaneda. Some relevant key elements inherent to the story are evolution, custom-designed motorcycles, the relationships developed by young men, and the presence of a boy (Akira) with the power to emit radiation.
