Sendhil's family comes from India, and his ethnicity plays an important part in his life, and in his acting career. He has made appearances in many television shows, including Psych, Grey's Anatomy, and Numb3rs.

Sendhil has appeared alongside Jayma Mays, Ossie Mair, and Stephen Tobolowsky in Blind Dating.

  • Sendhil Ramamurthy is married to Olga Sosnovska.
  • In an interview on The Megan Mullally Show (December 4th 2006), Sendhil said, "all the kids used to call me 'sandal'." Greg Grunberg then revealed that Sendhil's on-set nickname on Heroes is "flip-flop".
  • In an interview, casting director Jason La Padura said the part of Mohinder was originally conceived to be a much older character. However, because Sendhil has "this beautiful voice and he's beautiful to look at" and "he seems like he belongs on TV", the producers decided to change the concept of the character so they could cast Sendhil in the role.
