Hey Miami, is there any way to know exactly how many mainspace edits you've done? I know that if you go to you preferences tab it lists how many overall edits you've done, but I was wondering if there is any way to know about just a specific tab, without having to go to Special:Contributions/Leckie and counting exactly how many. If you can help, thanks! :) -- 15:39, 28 December 2009 (EST)

* Not for Heroes Wiki. It's a feature that was considered for DPL, but isn't in the version we used and it isn't implemented yet in the newer version that's at X-files wiki. If you're asking for X-files wiki, have the Admin there check out Extension:Usage Statistics. That seems to me the most stable extension out there that does what you want.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:58, 28 December 2009 (EST)

Turns out it is a vandal, and one that doesn't like you very much. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 16:14, 4 December 2009 (EST)

  • Thanks, I've blocked him and left a comment on his user page.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:02, 4 December 2009 (EST)

Howie Kaplan and DPL

Hey, Miami. Would you mind checking out the discussion at Talk:Howie Kaplan (crew) when you get a chance? Maybe with some of your DPL expertise, you could come up with another solution... :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:05, 4 December 2009 (EST)

  • Sure; taken care of by altering the NovelsCreated template to accept a name. Presto. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:08, 4 December 2009 (EST)
    • Awesome. You are Da Man, with a capital D. While we're on the subject of DPL issues, Antonio Fabela's name is not showing up. He colored Almost Famous with Edgar Delgado, and DPL is only recognizing one of the colorists. I chose Edgar to be the one recognized because he has so many credits, whereas Antonio only has one. Right now Antonio's page is crediting him manually. Any chance you can work your magic? :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:15, 4 December 2009 (EST)
      • Nope, still not working. Check out Edgar Delgado's page. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:26, 4 December 2009 (EST)
        • Well, the extra stuff we can filter out, I think. At least Antonio's page works now. Now to fix Edgar's page.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:28, 4 December 2009 (EST)
        • Ok, Edgar's page looks good now. If Edgar is missing any other novels, let me know. I fixed Almost Famous by using comments to make the DPL think there were two colorsby sections.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:44, 4 December 2009 (EST)
          • Unfortunately, that created another issue. All the novels Edgar colored after Almost Famous are now missing. There are nine missing altogether. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:56, 4 December 2009 (EST)
            • Yeah, I thought it had looked shorter than normal. Anyways, that's fixed too now. I ended up just filtering out the extra text on Edgar's page using the substring function and removing the commented stuff from Almost Famous. That seems to work. Not sure there's any cleaner way to fix it until DPL is upgraded.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:46, 5 December 2009 (EST)
              • Very clever! I knew you'd figure something out. Nicely done! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:33, 5 December 2009 (EST)

Double Redirects

Hey Miami, can you possibly tell me how double redirects can be avoided please? I just made a page, with a notice saying I would move it into my namespace, as the only way to make it was to have it as a mainspace page first. But I realised I moved it to the wrong name. I moved it again and checked if there was a double redirect, which there now is :/ Help me please? -- Leckie -- Talk 16:53, 17 December 2009 (EST)

  • I'll go ahead and delete the unneeded pages for you. In the future, just edit the unneeded pages to remove the redirect and mark them with an afd tag so they can be deleted.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:55, 17 December 2009 (EST)
    • Thanks! :) -- Leckie -- Talk 16:59, 17 December 2009 (EST)

Image sources

Got your message. Is that just something I add in the summary? I didn't put them in because how to do that wasn't really clear. :)--Saberproductions (talk) 07:54, 18 December 2009 (EST)

  • Yes, just add them to the summaries for the image articles. Also, when you comment on talk pages, you should add --~~~~ at the end of your comment (or click the javascript signature button) such that a signature appears when you save the article, enabling others to know the message was from you.--MiamiVolts (talk) 08:27, 18 December 2009 (EST)

User talk:I.absorb.abilities

I.absorb.abilities keeps on wiping his talk page, Radicell has already told him that he shouldn't but he is keeping on doing it -- Leckie -- Talk 14:10, 18 December 2009 (EST)

  • Well, although it's not polite to just clear the comments left for him, it is his talk page, so I think it's okay if he does that that.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:34, 18 December 2009 (EST)

Forgive me Miami...

...for I have vandalized. This is my first confession.--PUSHPIPE 17:50, 18 December 2009 (EST)

  • It's okay. Just please don't do it again or you may be blocked permanently.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:05, 18 December 2009 (EST)

Mulligan

How do we know Mulligan is John? I think I may have missed that connection... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:39, 18 December 2009 (EST)

  • Well, it's for a HSG message, and in the HSG, there is a character with nickname 'Mulligan' that I assume the latest event message is referring to since his power is temporal rewind and the character has been around a while. Perhaps you can confirm that assumption? In any case, the character has a first name of 'John', the profile photo is the same as John, and the bio seems to fit John's history, so that's the connection. I'll note it in John's page so there isn't any confusion.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:03, 18 December 2009 (EST)
    • Ah, I see. I think Zach was referring to this mulligan...but I'll double check with him. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:40, 18 December 2009 (EST)
      • Yeah, it would be good to check with him. Though since the info. about Mulligan is from Zach, I think it probable this is the character in Heroes: Survival he was referring to that had already appeared in the iStory. (See this related thread on 9th Wonders)--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:50, 18 December 2009 (EST)
        • Yep! There's not much more I'm allowed to say about it at this point...but you are completely on the right track. Only difference is "Mulligan" isn't a nickname. It's a last name. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:04, 19 December 2009 (EST)

Image deletion

Hey there, I recently had a brief image uploading conflict which resulted in two versions of the same image being uploaded. I was told that I needed an admin to delete one of them and I was wondering if you could? Image is Milo-ventimiglia-heroes-01-nc.jpg. Sorry for the inconvenience--PJDEP 18:12, 21 December 2009 (EST)

  • Sure, I'll delete that for you. In the future, you need only add afd in the article, and if it's an image you uploaded it should get deleted.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:08, 21 December 2009 (EST)

Thanks

  • No problem. What's with all the tongue-smilies lately? ;)--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:10, 23 December 2009 (EST)
    • I don't know, they just keep coming out. It's like part of my signature. : ) - Jenx222 | U / T / C | <inlcudeonly>08:00, 7 January 2012 (EST) 04:13, 23 December 2009 (EST)

Gulp Ninja Series

Hi Miami, I have a fan series (The Gulp-Ninja Series) and I was wondering if it could have its own account like Cockney Heroes? ~~IHHTalk 10:03, 26 December 2009 (EST)

  • Hey IHH, you need to ask Admin about that. Thats what we did for Cockney Heroes--Leckie -- Talk 10:05, 26 December 2009 (EST)
    • Well he is never on, so I thought another reliable admin could be fine. But I guess I will ask him! ~~IHHTalk 10:24, 26 December 2009 (EST)
  • Leckie is correct that you need to have Admin's permission for that. You might try sending him an e-mail.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:30, 26 December 2009 (EST)

Victims pages

Hey Miami, can you check out this page and this page for me please, and tell me what you think? -- Leckie -- Talk 13:27, 26 December 2009 (EST)

  • And this one as well please? -- Leckie -- Talk 13:31, 26 December 2009 (EST)
    • The galleries all need to have the header "Gallery", and the images need credits following the explanations (see Echo's victims for a good example). Other than that, they look good. Nice work. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:41, 26 December 2009 (EST)
      • Thanks Miami :) -- Leckie -- Talk 14:47, 26 December 2009 (EST)
        • They indeed look good leckie but i dont think that you can move it to main space because they need more victims. (atleast thats what they told me when i wanted to make one for Becky)-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 14:50, 26 December 2009 (EST)
          • Lol, and I'm the one who actually made the Becky's victims page xD -- Leckie -- Talk 14:59, 26 December 2009 (EST)

Templates

Hey Miami, I've set up a few templates for the X-Files wiki but there's a load more that need to be created. If you could help out, that would be great. It will give me much more time to sort out the hundreds of articles that need updating, thanks - Jenx222 | U / T / C | <inlcudeonly>08:00, 7 January 2012 (EST) 15:22, 28 December 2009 (EST)
