- Tim Sale will continue to be involved with Heroes. "The idea of the paintings is going to have a clever reentry into the show."
- The first few episodes will reveal a "tremendous mystery [that] happened in those four months" after the events of How to Stop an Exploding Man.
- In discussing the characters of Angela Petrelli, Charles Deveaux, Kaito Nakamura, and Mr. Linderman, Tim Kring said "This season, one of those themes that we're going to talk about is the sins of the parents being visited upon the children. This idea of how generationally we are left with problems that we have to fix."
- Kaito is an evolved human and his power will be revealed.

- Barry Shabaka Henley will portray Detective Fuller, a police officer with the NYPD.
- Holt McCallany will portray Ricky, the ringleader of a group of Irish thugs.
- David Anders will portray either Kane or Kensei (reports have been unclear). His character is described as being "one thousand years old".
- Eriko Tamura will portray the princess.
- Lyndsy Fonseca will portray April, a sweet cheerleader from Southern California who will come into contact with Claire.
- Dianna Agron will portray Debbie, a mean cheerleader from Southern California who will come into contact with Claire.
- 6/18 -- According to Hayden Panettiere (and reported by HeroesNBC.net), Season Two will take place in March, 2007.

- 6/16 -- On the rumor side of things, David Anders of Alias fame is all but confirmed to play the part of next season’s central villain Kane. Kane is apparently over a thousand years old and has a lust for power that is a little more elegant than Sylar. - 6/14 -- Aishwarya Rai the Bollywood actress and former Miss World, will appear in 8 episodes. It has been reported that Aishwarya Rai will play the role of Dr. Mohinder Suresh’s elder sister Shanti Suresh, and will have a super-power of her own, something which has not yet been disclosed. - 6/13 -- TV Crunch falsely confirms that Riyo Mori will indeed play Yaeko. Mori did, indeed, audition for the role, but she lost out to Eriko Tamura, as reported in The Hollywood Reporter.
- 6/12 -- They're welcoming a new recurring character named Will, aka Blackie, an Irish mobster who's mixed up in small-time crime. I'm hearing we'll meet a new character who's been alive for 1,000 years. Source: Kristin on E!Online

- 6/4 -- Kristin Veitch "reveals" that Takezo Kensei's princess is named Princess Keriyama. A "sexy little Japanese thing," she will be a recurring character who will premiere in the first episode of Season Two. Kristin also reports that Nathan will return--Adrian Pasdar says his character will have a "journey of redemption for the sins of past."
- 5/31 -- "I tried to get an answer out of Greg (about whether he will return next season to the show), but he's not budging. All he'll say is the audience shouldn't "assume anything" about Matt's fate. He then added, "This will be the hardest secret I have ever had to keep during a hiatus." -Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
- 5/27 -- Several new characters will be introduced in the season premiere including:
- Maya, a Hispanic woman in her mid 20s.
- Kane, a recurring character who may become a possible regular. He is a man in his late 20s, referred to as an ageless American with a European feel. He is said to be a charming womanizer who has a soul that seems to be older than he appears to be.
- Princess Keriyama, a recurring Japanese female character.
- April, a gay cheerleader.
- West, a charming 18-year-old who doesn't fit in much.
- May, a mean high school cheerleader.
- Georgie and Blackie, two Irish thieves/mobsters.
- Ricky, the thief ringleader who is about 45 years old.
- Bob, a friendly 40-year-old mild-mannered man, who is said to be the "unassuming face of a very powerful organization".
- Kincaid, a NYPD detective.
- The second episode will introduce a new regular, Monica, a beautiful 28-year-old African-American. She is very kind to people and always thinks of others before taking care of herself. She will act as a surrogate for Niki's son.
- Claire will be getting a sexy new boyfriend.
- It is believed that most of these characters will only do arcs on the show rather than become regulars.

- 5/21 -- Among other hints of what's to come in the "frikkin’ train ride" that is Season Two, a Q&A session with writers Aron Coleite and Joe Pokaski reveals that we will learn more about Shanti's illness, the nature of the Haitian's power, and history about the Nakamuras.
- 5/14 With "Heroes" its only new hit of the season, struggling NBC announced a fall schedule Monday that includes a spinoff and three other dramas also trading on supernatural themes. To stretch the normal 22-episode season of "Heroes," which faltered after its long hiatus this year, NBC will add "Heroes: Origins." The spinoff will introduce a new character each week, and viewers will select which one stays for the following season. The two series will have 30 new episodes combined. (The Associated Press)

- According to Kristin Veitch, season two will be titled "Volume Two: Generations" and will focus more on our current character's ancestors.
- According to Entertainment Weekly issue #933, more episodes will focus on a single character, like Season One's Company Man. Additionally, the season will have fewer hiatuses than Season One. In fact, it seems there will be only one hiatus which will coincide with "a Big Twist". By Season Three, the producers hope to not have any breaks between episodes.
