Kanyakumari is a town at the very southern tip of the Indian subcontinent.

Mohinder Suresh travels to Kanyakumari to scatter his father's ashes. Also at the funeral are his mother, his colleague Nirand, and his former lover Mira Shenoy.

Later, Charlie identifies Kanyakumari as an answer to Sheriff Davidson's crossword puzzle.

Kanyakumari was incorrectly identified in the crossword puzzle clue as the burial place of Mahatma Ghandi. He was actually cremated and memorialized at Raj Ghat on the banks of the river Yamuna in Delhi, India.
