Hiro, just a young boy, believed that Tami was in love with Kozumi, who was bigger and meaner than Hiro, and could drive Tami places in his battered van. Hiro hated Kozumi. (Chapter 25)
While traveling through time uncontrollably, Hiro watches 15 years earlier when Tami clambered into Kozumi's front seat, breaking Hiro's heart. (Chapter 45)
