Tokyo, Japan is the capital of and the largest prefecture in the nation, with a population of over twelve million. Although severely damaged during World War II, Tokyo has risen to become the technological, cultural, and economic center of modern Japanese society. It is the home of Hiro Nakamura and Ando Masahashi.

Genesis
While at his job, Hiro, using his power, stops time for a second. He excitedly tells this to his friend Ando, who shrugs him off. Hiro is dragged back to his office by his ear by his boss. Hiro speculates about his new-found power to Ando at a karaoke bar. Ando is still not amused, telling Hiro that if he can teleport, why doesn't he teleport into the women's bathroom. As Ando goes to get drinks, Hiro focuses and succeeds at the dare. Being thrown out of the bar, Hiro and Ando continue talking. Hiro wants to be special, but Ando doesn't see why. They depart. Hiro is on the subway as he sees an advertisement for New York City. He concentrates and finds himself there.
Don't Look Back
In the future timeline, after being found with a murdered Isaac in his apartment, the police question Hiro. They call Ando in Toyko, who says Hiro has been missing for five weeks. After witnessing the explosion, Hiro teleports back to the Tokyo subway.
Graphic Novel:The Crane
Back into the Tokyo subway, after the explosion, Hiro visits his apartment, thinking about what he had witnessed and decides what he must do. He visits the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, leaving a origami crane there in the memory of his grandfather.
One Giant Leap
To convince Ando about his powers, Hiro shows him the 9th Wonders! comic book he brought back from the future and saves a schoolgirl from a bus. This convinces Ando and they leave Tokyo.
Six Months Ago
Hiro, realizing he teleported too far back in time in his effort to save Charlie, calls Ando at Yamagato Industries. Ando is out sick, so Hiro from the past picks up for him. Present Hiro hangs up quickly before creating a space and time paradox. Later, as Charlie and Hiro attempt to kiss, Hiro is teleported to the roof of the Yamagato Industries building where there is an calisthenics class going on.
The Fix
Kaito's assistant offers Hiro and Ando first-class airline tickets back to Tokyo, but they refuse.

- Scenes that take place in Tokyo are filmed primarily in Los Angeles's "Little Tokyo", around Astronaut Ellison South Onizuka Street and 1st Street.
