Talk:Pyrokinesis
- Could the fire that she created have been her first time using her powers? Claire also survived the fire because of her power. --Jnezon
- Very possibly - she was young. I wouldn't add that though, since it's speculation, and we still know very little about the fire 14 years ago. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:38, 30 January 2007 (EST)
- The fire was definitely part of a deliberate conspiracy. Her comment to Claire's bio-father in the preview for next week gave that away.--E rowe 11:48, 30 January 2007 (EST)
Things to add
This article needs the name of the town where Meredith Gordon lives; I couldn't recall it when I wrote the article. --Ted C 10:41, 30 January 2007 (EST)
- Kermit! :) (Admin 10:42, 30 January 2007 (EST))
- Seriously? --Ted C 10:45, 30 January 2007 (EST)
- Check out the synopse for last night's show! --Yoshie 10:49, 30 January 2007 (EST)

Control
So far it isn't much to go on, but when she lights the cigarette, you will notice that the flames don't move naturally. They are pulled towards the tip of the cigarette. Weather this means she is a living flamethrower or not remains to be seen, but she can direct fire at least a bit. -- Cuardin
- It definitely looks like something's up, but it also might just be the visual effects not quite simulating reality: when one lights a cigarette, the flame often is drawn to the tip as the smoker inhales, just not so dramatically.--Hardvice (talk) 03:03, 2 February 2007 (EST)
- Agreed. It is a bit thin ATM. -- Cuardin 20:35, 2 February 2007 (EST)
- According to what we saw in Distractions, Meredith doesn't appear to require a source of fire in order to create it. She also appears immune to at least the fire which she creates (she neither showed signs of burns on her hand nor any notice of the heat that the fire would have been giving off). It's still unclear if she can "control" fire.. but she can definetly "create" it from nothing. --Yoshie (talk) 12:10, 2 February 2007 (EST)

Just adding it here for future reference. Meredith apparently thought Claire died in the fire. Assuming she would have wanted to save her daughter, Meredith must not have been able to survive the flames of the house to go rescue Claire, or at least not known she could. Of course, we may learn later that she had other reasons for not going to her daughter's rescue. At present, we haven't seen any ability to control/resist fire that she isn't producing herself. --Ted C 12:03, 6 February 2007 (EST)
Haha oh man.
Well this IS discussion... I had a dream last night I had Pyrokinesis... and I must say, it was the coolest dream EVER. Just snapping with the effect of a lighter. It was awesome. I definatley think this is the power I would want.--Riddler 23:14, 6 February 2007 (EST)
Five Years Gone
Are we sure Peter uses pyrokinesis and not Ted's power to induce radioactivity. Ok ze clearly see fire but is it sufficient to assume it's pyrokinesis as we know it from Claire's mom ?? -- FrenchFlo (talk) 03:31, 2 May 2007 (EDT)
- I am confused on that point as well. Tfo 03:37, 2 May 2007 (EDT)
- In my opinion, I think it's Ted's powers... Just look at the new comic... How could he melt the [don't know the name] of the door to break Niki out? Fire can't melt it fast enough, radiation can... --Densus 05:20, 2 May 2007 (EDT)
- Actually there is already is a discussion about that here. -- FrenchFlo (talk) 06:04, 2 May 2007 (EDT)
- Having Ted's power doesn't mean he doesn't have pyrokinesis. He could easily have both.--Hardvice (talk) 16:06, 2 May 2007 (EDT)
- In the latest Graphic Novel Peter absorbed it from one of the members of Matt's team./ Guy 11:56, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
- Peter absorbed Electromagnetism and Enhanced speed --Densus 12:02, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
- Oh that scene makes alot more sense now --- he was talking about Enhanced Speed

Future absorptions
So some of our powers pages (like this one) show that Future Sylar or Future Peter have absorbed powers. Others don't. We should really do all or nothing. I don't really have an opinion one way or the other. Any thoughts? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:28, 11 May 2007 (EDT)
I have teh phire.
Haha, long time no see, guys. Just wanted to share, this little test is Heroes inspired. Ive always though Pyrokinesis to be one of the coolest powers. http://youtube.com/watch?v=ui06TZnmw30 --Riddler 23:23, 4 September 2007 (EDT)
-Ahw, no love.--Riddler 14:48, 5 September 2007 (EDT)
- Nice effect... ok, here's a tip: change the color scheme on the flames...you could make it appear greenish-blue like if you were looking through night-vision goggles.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:34, 5 September 2007 (EDT)
- Not bad. What did you use to make it? I know there are some nice tools on my MacBook, but I've never checked them out... might be possible to do something like that on there, too. Only tip I have would be to make the fire track the fingers when they move (like near the end) before its blown out. Actually, maybe you could make a "Sylar Collection" with you demonstrating all different powers. That might be neat. (Admin 16:03, 5 September 2007 (EDT))
- Did it with Vegas and premade effects. I wanna go on to learn how to do some of my own. I can try a Sylar type thing but it'll be fairly limited. The video was much brighter until I uploaded it to youtube, it was weird. I'm just learning effects, so I know they need work =P I did a flamethrower today, not really heroes based this time but it still works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3tP0p7YZFA--Riddler 16:37, 5 September 2007 (EDT)
- To quote Mr. Bennet, "Good luck with that." Though while Bennet was being sarcastic, I'm being serious. :) Maybe you'll be the next Masi Oka doing visual effects and then getting into acting. :) (Admin 16:39, 5 September 2007 (EDT))
- Haha, I don't think I'll take that path. I just like video editing, me and my friends film (well, did, we haven't in a while) - so now I'm learning effects in case we do any movies. I wanna try electricity next though.--Riddler 16:45, 5 September 2007 (EDT)
- I really like your videos, they're fun. They kind of remind me of some of the videos from Ryan Wieber's website. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:06, 5 September 2007 (EDT)
