Talk:Season Five
Yuck
I don't like the volume name. I liked how they were doing it up until now: one word volumes. Now they have a volume name with three short words, and it's the same name as a season finale. I guess it fits, but they can't come up with something better? "Revelations" maybe. I don't know, I just hope this name doesn't stick... --Skullman1392 23:43, 8 February 2010 (EST)
- I like it. I think it's a good idea for NBC/the producers to really try and pull a CHANGE here- and the name infers that. I think they should do a 24 and lay off a lot of these characters and bring in a whole load of new people. New characters, new abilities, new in general. You look at the main cast for this last season, and I say that maybe 3 of them still have milage in their characters: Sylar (who is such a conflicted character any "freshening up" is feasible, like now), Peter (who has been on both sides of power and is even now finding his feet) and Samuel (who is still fresh, and a conflicted villain). Maybe, possibly Claire at a stretch. Nathan and Suresh we both know are gone, and I think Matt, Hiro, Ando, Angela, Tracy and even Noah have been exausted and "ran their courses" as characters. I'd personally off all of those and bring in fresh faces to stimulate new interest. IF they get the renewal that is...--Evil Maldini 13:08, 9 February 2010 (EST)
- Yeah, I think they've realised that some of the characters' storylines can only go so far, which is why for the ones like Tracy and Matt, we've been seeing less of them. I mean, for ages we all wondered where Mohinder was, yet lots of us "don't like him". But we still wanted to know what was up. The less we see, the more we want. If I were one of the writers, I'd advise a fresh cast, with the old cast as guest stars, and less importance in the storylines, with them all getting on with their lives, Sylar the "superman", Claire at college, Noah with the company, Tracy the X-men house, angela a retired life, matt a fatherhood etc etc, you get the picture. --mc_hammark 14:05, 9 February 2010 (EST)
- I actually disagree. Call my sentimental, but I’ve invested four years in these characters. To me, Heroes isn’t a television show about superpowers or action scenes (although I love those too); it’s always been a show chronicling the lives of profound characters. It’s not the characters who are run down, it’s the writers, unfortunately. Our characters are all we’ve got, at this point. I’m all for new characters, but don’t get rid of the old ones! I’m still mourning over the death of Isaac in the first season! --LynnDOLYN | talk 00:02, 10 February 2010 (EST)

- Skullman, your objection is the name? I don't really mind the name. In fact, I think it's quite nice. And it's not the first time that the name of volume has been the same as the name of an episode. In fact, there are three volumes that share names with episodes, and three that don't. And personally, I like the name of the volume--it's a nice reference to Claude's line in Company Man. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:04, 10 February 2010 (EST)
- If Brave New World were the name of a full episode within the volume, that's fine, its just weird that a season volume has its name because of the next volume. Does that make sense? I worded it kind of weird... Anyways, I think the name of it fits extremely nicely for what they plan to do with Volume Six, I just don't like the fact that we've had five one-worded volumes, and all of a sudden we have a three-worded one. I kinda feel like it's a tradition being broken... --Skullman1392 20:44, 10 February 2010 (EST)
- That's what I felt too, and there's always been that feel to it where it could read as the title of a book in the bible (I know Genesis is...) you know? --mc_hammark 20:47, 10 February 2010 (EST)
- You know, I didn't really think of it that way, but now that you mention it, I completely see that. --Skullman1392 21:02, 10 February 2010 (EST)
- Consider "Brave New World" to be the "Song of Solomon" of volume titles. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:01, 10 February 2010 (EST)

- Actually, this title suddenly makes a lot more sense to me. Samuel tried to create a brave new world by destroying New York City and bringing evolved humans into the limelight. When he was foiled, Claire actually did create a brave new world by revealing her ability to the world. Two distinct ideas, thus it makes sense to separate them. --Ricard Desi (t,c) 22:12, 10 February 2010 (EST)
- Just as a side note, it also could be referring to the Aldous Huxley novel Brave New World, and its themes. Not necessarily the story, but the idea of classes of people, cloning, and/or dystopia versus utopia. Just an opinion, but it could fit well I think. --Persephone 22:40, 10 February 2010 (EST)
Greg Grunberg
Greg Grunberg seems to think that there'll be a new season. See here. Side note: Anyone else know he was in a band with Hugh Laurie?--PJDEP - Need further explanation? 00:08, 11 February 2010 (EST)
- I keep meaning to check out The Band from TV. Anyone know if they're any good? --Ricard Desi (t,c) 01:38, 11 February 2010 (EST)
What are they going to do with sylar?
Personally... I think this:
with the S for Sylar. --Mc hammark
- Sylar is the best villian ever made in my oppinion, in season 4 (except Let It Bleed), they screwed him up real bad and I think that season 5 is just going to get worse. Sometimes Sylar was the only reason I watched Heroes.-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 11:14, 14 February 2010 (EST)
Volume 1: On his full potential
Volume 2: Kind of powerless (but wants to get his powers back)
Volume 3: He goes on a killing spree, but some emotions get involved
Volume 4: Still on a killing spree, but again there are some emotions getting involved
Volume 5: What can I say, he is Nathan Peterelli for a while, he wants to get rid of his powers, and is a hero?
