Synopsis

What the-? Isn't Admin supposed to write the synopsis? Heroe 22:08, 19 February 2007 (EST)

I am sorry. I was a little overzealous on this one. I am also a newbie on this wiki. I will delete it. Japanimation14 20:11, 19 February 2007 (EST)

It doesn't really matter who writes the synopsis. I write most of them just out of habit. The only suggestion I have concerning them is to check out the previous synopses for an example of the level of detail and other formatting we use for the synopsis. This way the synopses all look somewhat standard. But as for who writes them, it doesn't really matter so if someone else wants to write one in the same format as the others, they're more than welcome to. :) (Admin 22:15, 19 February 2007 (EST))

This episode was INCREDIBLE!!! Sorry, had to express that. Bob 22:15, 19 Feb 2007 (EST)

  • I'm with you Bob. Wow...Wow...Wow!!!! 3 times more cool than then next best episode. Wow, was Peter cool doing Sylar and Hiro's powers tonight?

--HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 23:03, 19 February 2007 (EST)

If you aren't already writing the synopsis would it be alright to restore my synopsis and then edit the details. That would make me feel like I belong. I will try to leave the Synopsis open for your writings the next time. Japanimation14 20:22, 19 February 2007 (EST)
  • Unless I'm doing this wrong, I marked off what I've done so far: Enhanced Hearing, Dale, and Power Theft.

Footsteps

I know this isn't a theories page. But why weren't there footsteps when Sylar snuck up on Dale? What power could he have used? Not flight, not teleportation...Can he liquify the ground under him and slide like Iceman? Can he keep himself off the ground with his telekinesis? Did he intuit the art of slithering from a worm? The suspense is killing me!--E rowe 22:28, 19 February 2007 (EST)

Simply put, Sylar was using his telekinesis to levitate himself off the ground. He's used it to lift himself up before (as seen in the "Road Kill" graphic novel) as well as to slow a steep fall ("Homecoming").--Paronine 22:48, 19 February 2007

Agreed. He used TK. -- ZachsMind 01:11, 20 February 2007 (EST)

Messing with us?

I tried making out the doctor's name on her nametag. The best I could get was "D R E" which would make her "Dr. Dre" :-) --Fcphantom 23:23, 19 February 2007 (EST)

  • I read it, but I forgot to write it down. I'll get it on the second pass.--Hardvice (talk) 23:40, 19 February 2007 (EST)

Episode screencap

I suggest Peter and Claude flying (you know, when they look like Superman and Lois Lane) for the episode screencap. There were lots of "unexpected" moments, but that's the only one I can remember when somebody said "unexpected". Plus, it's not too spoilerish. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:04, 20 February 2007 (EST)

Actually, the best picture will probably be as Claude says "Do. Something. Unexpected!", he brings the pole down at Peter's head and Peter TK's it. It's a really nice two-shot. --Fcphantom 00:16, 20 February 2007 (EST)
  • I like the present cap of the pole. That was very cool when it happened, because it suprised us, and it showed that Peter could tap into Sylar's bag of tricks, and even more importantly, that Peter can absorb a second-handed power (TK came from Brian Davis, through Silar to Peter), so it doesn't matter if it is a person's primary power or not; just that Peter is present when 'the power' is manifested. (BTW, the best 1 hour TV episode ever...
    • better than the original BSG Pegasus/Lloyd Bridges episode,
    • better than the SMDM/BW-Bigfoot episode,
    • better than the Firefly episode where Shepherd is killed,
    • better than S1999 when the moon leaves orbit,
    • better than the Logan's Run pilot with FFM,
    • better than when the Robot turned evil in LIS,
    • better than when Kato and GH guest-starred on B&R,
    • better than the Grumpy vs Alice LOTL episode,
    • better than the Scotty TNG NC1701 holodeck Bridge episode,
    • even better than the ST TOS Doomesday Machine (planet-eater) episode)--HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 10:03, 20 February 2007 (EST)

Lost reference?

  • When Nathan mentioned that if people found out about their abilities that they'd stick them in a lab somewhere in the middle of the ocean, did anyone else immediately think of Lost? :) (Admin 09:21, 20 February 2007 (EST))
    • Yes! I was hopeing someone else would catch that. I think it's cool that there are little refrences to Lost here and there. --Parlemer 10:36, 20 February 2007 (EST)

Peter powerfull than Sylar?

As shown in "unexpected"; peter uses TK he picked up from sylar. Now, peter has met more heroes than sylar and if they meet ever again; peter can pick up all the abilities sylar is picking up now (by killing other hereos) too. So essentially; peter is more powerful than sylar. Also, Do I see a -ve side of peter in ending scenes of "unexpected" ?

Peter stopping time

  • When The Haitian tries to shoot Peter with the Tazer, there is the frequently used sound of time stopping. The clicking of the Tazer also stops. Plus Peter remains in motion as he looks at the darts. The Haitian and Mr. Bennet remain motionless. Then when time restarts the clicking of the Tazer is heard again. Whether the darts fall as some effect of stopping time, or whether it's telekinesis isn't exactly clear, but in any event it is clear that he stops time. (Admin 11:51, 20 February 2007 (EST))
    • Well, I'll argue briefly, then let it go. As I remember it, the darts were moving the whole time, drifting up and down, even though their forward motion stopped. I wouldn't expect to be seeing that motion if time were stopped (although it could still be slowed, I suppose). Also, when Hiro uses the power, the momentum/motion of objects generally doesn't change unless he physically interacts with them during the time-stop; the darts falling to the ground is simply not an effect consistent with the use of space-time manipulation. We might be seeing both powers in effect, but that would be an altogether different precedent. I'd suggest we keep the text ambiguous for the moment, have several people who recorded the ep look over the scene a few times and discuss it, then make a final update. --Ted C 12:01, 20 February 2007 (EST)
      • I do see the bouncing effect you refer to and noticed it originally as well. Watching it several times I can't decide for certain if the bouncing is the result of the way they shot the scene or whether, after he stops the probes, it's caused by him telekinetically throwing the probes to the ground. In any event you can tell from the sound alone that he does indeed stop time. The clicking sound of the Tazer slows down, stops, and then resumes once the probes fall to the ground. This is the exact same effect used whenever Hiro stops time. The only question to me is whether he uses telekinesis in addition to stopping time. That I don't have a definitive answer for.
