Feeling

I have a good feeling about this episode, I just hope it isn't going to be the last ever one. - Jenx222 | U / T / C | <inlcudeonly>08:00, 7 January 2012 (EST) 19:01, 8 December 2009 (EST)

  • Why do so many people think that? i mean there is SOOOOOOO much left to explain and it's impossible to do that in just 10(could be 8 dont really now) episodes.-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 19:04, 8 December 2009 (EST)
    • Actually there are only "7" episodes left. But with the 13 and 14 airing the same day, It's pretty sure they will fuse them into one like the two first episodes. The finale will probably be a two hour long episode too. So actually that leaves us with 5.--Kleith 19:08, 8 December 2009 (EST)
      • Actually, I don't think there is too much more that HAS to be explained other than the story line they are on right now. Some things don't really need answering, though an answer or two wouldn't hurt. I think that with a title like Brave New World, it could mean one of two things: A- "The show is ending, and the title is supposed to make us feel like the story will still continue on in the world of the show" or B- "The show is starting a new chapter with a major difference such as several major character deaths; the presence of evolved humans is announced to the world; or some major catastrophe happens and rocks the world (or a combination of all three. Vampirate68 | Talk | Contribs | 22:48, 19 December 2009 (EST)
        • Well, I guess we'll find out if there will be another season. If they have a new volume name announced in it, then it is basically confirmed, if not, we'll need to hope for the best! --mc_hammark 06:51, 20 December 2009 (EST)
          • David H. Lawrence XVII keeps writing in his Facebook that BNW is season finale, not the series finale. AltesUTC CH 06:53, 20 December 2009 (EST)
            • I think season and series are the same thing, just one is american the other is british, I think the thing he was talking about was that he had put in heroes season finale, instead of just heroes finale. Oh and just got caught out there, layout of keyboards, it would be quite easy to type herpes instead of heroes!:))) --mc_hammark 07:00, 20 December 2009 (EST)

                    • Not a case of British and American English, there have been series in the past that in their last season announced "series finale". Far from wantint to jinx it, but even if David wrote it as season finale, he could be unaware that it could be or that it is a series finale. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 12:51, 20 December 2009 (EST)
                      • Unless he's already been asked back, or if he knows that there is a volume 6 snippet! That would rather confirm it to him. --mc_hammark 14:00, 20 December 2009 (EST)
                        • But seeing as he is a Recurring/Minor actor, he may not know if this is the end of the show. He might not be deemed important enough to tell or they are trying to keep it a secret. Vampirate68 | Talk | Contribs 20:50, 20 December 2009 (EST)
                          • I'll clear up the confusion about the whole Season/Series thing. Season refers to the current airing of the show, for example: Redemption. Series refers to the entire thing overall, for example: from Pilot episode: Genesis, right up to the latest aired episode of the show. A Season finale is the final episode of the current airing, whereas a Series Finale refers to the last episode to ever be released under the show's name. Far-out fan theories

Personally, I'm not sure all these should be excluded as possibilities, so I thought we could have some place to list the far-out/seemingly baseless fan-theories about this episode, so I'm adding this thread to list them below.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:33, 6 January 2010 (EST)

  • The ghost one isn't a wild theory though, remember Mediumship? I'd call that a base for the theory. --mc_hammark 19:42, 9 January 2010 (EST)
    • Although I agree with you that it's probably not a wild theory, what you state is not really a basis that an announcement/confirmation to the world would come for it in this episode and there are at least two users who think it doesn't belong.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:32, 9 January 2010 (EST)
      • I see what you mean now. --mc_hammark 09:14, 10 January 2010 (EST)

Theories List

  • The existence of extraterrestrials (E.T.) will be announced to the world in this episode.
  • The existence of ghosts will be announced to the world in this episode.
  • The existence of animals with superpowers will be discovered, but not necessarily announced to the world.

Huh?

Tim Kring said in an interview Hiro will find Charlie in Volume Five finale. But Jayma Mays isn't there. AltesUTC CH 09:33, 25 January 2010 (EST)

  • Technically, he said they'd be reunited in the finale, which could mean anything. Masi Oka's also confirmed in an interview that the Hiro/Charlie storyline will be resolved in this episode. How this will happen without her being there is anyone's guess, mind...Swm 10:53, 25 January 2010 (EST)
    • Maybe Hiro gets reunited with an aged Charlie, allowing another actor to play her?--Referos 19:29, 25 January 2010 (EST)
      • Seems logical. However, they usually get the same actor/actress when they're doing time-travel stuff, and just use makeup to age them. But that's entirely possible. --Clairesxtwin48 20:06, 25 January 2010 (EST)
        • Eww, I really hope we won't see an old Charlie. If Arnold pulled an Arnold on her... AltesUTC CH 02:45, 26 January 2010 (EST)
          • Though it would give a real context to Arnold saying "Nobody deserves a fate like that." He'd know better then anyone. It's either going to be Referos' solution, or Jayma Mays just isn't credited (Didn't Tracy appear in The Art of Deception without being credited?) Swm 06:43, 26 January 2010 (EST)
            • I don't think she was credited, actually. That could very well be true.--Clairesxtwin48 17:48, 26 January 2010 (EST)
          • I hope we aren't gonna find out that Victoria Pratt was actually Charlie! :) AltesUTC CH 07:37, 27 January 2010 (EST)
            • Twisted! That would be disturbing beyond belief! And then I'd have another reason to be kinda ticked at amnesia!Peter...--Clairesxtwin48 07:43, 27 January 2010 (EST)
            • Tracy WAS credited in The Art of Deception. Not that that really matters. -- Tristan0709 talk 00:34, 28 January 2010 (EST)

What do you think is going to happen?

So guys, what do you think is going to happen in the finale? With the various plot twists the writers like to pull were likely to not get even half right, that said its still fun to think about it.Personally what I think is going to happen is that while Sylar is rescuing Emma (per Peter's and Angela's vision) Peter himself will be taking on Samuel in a terrakinetic duel via mimicking his power.More will be happening then that obviously, but that is atleast one event I am theorizing/hoping for in the future episode. The other thing is, is that if they end up upgrading Peter's ability, it will be in the end of this, as that is the only logical place for such a thing to occur. So what do you think will happen and be revealed for the next volume/season?-- Tbora 23:34, 27 January 2010 (EST)

  • I agree with you on all the points that you've set out. As I've been saying since Close To You, it's basically Kirby Plaza all over again, with different characters playing out the different roles. Emma is Season 1 Peter, manipulated by the Big Baddie and with a power she doesn't fully understand. Sylar is taking the role of Nathan (interesting, given how his body spent the first half of the season) by saving the hero who has been forced into the role of a catalyst for cataclysm. Peter is taking on the role of Niki/DL by taking down Samuel (who of course is filling Linderman's position). And yeah, I'm guessing that Peter's powers are going to get re-upped... somehow. I don't know precisely what, because I guarantee, they're going to keep a limit on it SOMEHOW. Maybe he can only absorb up to ten powers at a time or something, or maybe he can only absorb the powers of people he knows quite well, I don't know. Something. But I do hope they deal with that, because it's becoming quite irritating to the fans. Meanwhile, it would seem that, from the graphic novels, Tracy is turning into Professor X. My guess is that by the end of the volume, Peter will be leading the Carnival, and Tracy is going to be helping him by instructing the next generation of Heroes in how to use their powers safely and wisely. And if I had my way, Peter and Emma would be together/dating/something.---Clairesxtwin48 00:34, 28 January 2010 (EST)
  • Yeah, it's fun to speculate... if not sure Peter's ability needs an upgrade, though I think it is reasonable to assume his ability to mimic powers might be upgraded if he takes Samuel's ability due to Samuel's ability being enhanced by the presence of many other evolved humans. Another theory I posted above is that E.T. might be announced/discovered in the finale along with the revelation that powers exist being broadcast to the general public (the latter seems the case to me based on the promos). I'm thinking it might be a good setup for/homage to ex-Heroes producer Jesse Alexander's Day One, whose order has been reduced from a series order to a two-hour tv movie, which may later become a series--from what I understand about Day One, it deals with the aftermath of an E.T. attack. Here's how I see things possibly playing out:
  1. Lauren and Tracy go to rescue Noah and Claire, only to find a vengeful Amanda and Edgar, and battle it out, resulting in another big explosion scene with unknown survivors.
  2. Mohinder, Ando, and Hiro battle with Eli. They are unsuccessful in stopping him from revealing abilities to the world, but learn from him where Claire and Noah have been buried alive in a trailer... Mohinder digs them out with his super strength.
  3. Matt is home with Janice and his son when the news hits TV. He is summoned to work, and asked by the President to head a new specials division of the Dept. of Homeland Security.
  4. Peter and Sylar, having inadvertently switch bodies/appearances, team up to take down Samuel and save Emma.
  5. With Samuel dead and the Carnival mostly toasted, the rest of the carnies gather around Peter and Sylar, upset at them. Meanwhile, the combination of the three of them having Samuel's power astronomically increases the evolved human force, allowing E.T. to detect it... Sylar then utters something like "Well, I guess I got my redemption... and I learned another thing..." Peter asks what that was....
  6. The scene flashes to Claire that is exiting the trailer with Noah thanks to Mohinder, Hiro, and Ando... Claire is hugging Noah and says she has another problem... Noah says that whatever it is, they'll deal with it together--that she's not alone. That's kinda the problem, she says...
  7. Split screen Claire, Sylar, possibly an ash covered Tracy... in unison, they say, 'We're not alone', and the screen pans out from the crowd of Specials around Peter and Sylar, revealing flying saucers in the distance.
  8. Beginning of next volume (Aliens)... Ando insists to Hiro that they must go back to Japan, see if the aliens are there too, he wants to be with Kimiko--to ask her to marry him. Hiro grabs Ando's hand and they teleport, only to find themselves not at Yamagato. Hiro and Ando are in a dark room. A number of voices call out, 'Hiro Nakamura, Master of Space and Time, we've been expecting you...' Ando asks them to show themselves and the lights turn on... In front of them, they see a number of people that all look like Kimiko and Charlie! But the girls explain that they are not Hiro's sister and girlfriend--they are Aliens... To Be Continued...

--Well, that's one possible scenario, imho. I'm actually hoping, though, that I'm right about none of it so I can be pleasantly surprised. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:38, 28 January 2010 (EST)

  • I think all of that is pretty realistic, and definitely possible, the sole exception being the Aliens Volume you were going about. Its silly and pretty much fits in the far out theories section.Me personally what I think will happen next season is that people with abilities will be outed to the world (where as last season the gov. found out) and we will see a world similar to the alternate timeline of five years gone. The major difference being, is that instead of hunting them (Specials) down, they will be viewed as a small minority that is mistrusted by the general population, accepted by others, and looked upon with interest by other people.I think this would be a great openning for the next season and fits wonderfully with the episode title. From there I imagine it would follow the cast as it always does, but it will be with ever Normal knowing about them and what they can do.It would lead to some great future storylines and give momentum to the series that it desperately needs. In addition there is something actually pointing to this, in one of the promo vids it shows Claire jumping off of the Ferris Wheel in the Carnivel with the media surrounding it, the Camera's focused on her.-- Tbora 11:13, 28 January 2010 (EST)
    • Yeah, I guess it could be Claire instead of Eli that gives it up to the media, or Claire could just be revealing that Eli isn't the only Special... Regarding Aliens being too silly, I guess it's all in how you look at it, but I do hope you're right about that.--MiamiVolts (talk) 13:47, 28 January 2010 (EST)
  • Except for the aliens, I think a lot of that sounds probable. I'm not sure about the Sylar-and-Peter-switching bodies thing... though it WOULD be an interesting way to explore whether Peter's limited powers are a result of the fact that the formula sucks, or whether it's some kind of psychological block he's created for himself. After all, Sylar does NOT have the same inhibitions about how he uses his powers, so Sylar-in-Peter's-body wouldn't have the same power problem if it happens to be psychological. Either way, I kinda hope it doesn't happen, mainly because I want to see Sylar get redeemed and then be killed off as a hero at last. But I don't think they'd do that, because Sylar is SUCH a popular character. The specials-being-revealed-to-the-world thing I DO believe is probable. I'm just curious as to how. Maybe it will have something to do with news coverage of Samuel's little rampage in that town? --Clairesxtwin48 21:46, 28 January 2010 (EST)
    • Well, the ending has been something unexpected past few seasons, so I guess we'll see. As to how Specials are revealed, I'm leaning towards Samuel ordering Eli to take out some high-profile target where people are normally watching, since it would be hard for anyone to stop all of Eli's clones. Not sure what that target would be, though. Of course, Samuel could probably just carve his own face into a mountain, right?--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:22, 28 January 2010 (EST)
      • Can't be, last episode (The Wall), Samuel ordered Eli to stay behind and take out those who might interfere with his plans.Of that group only Sylar and Peter have been confirmed.Who else do you guys think is on Eli's Hitlist; if anybody? And with the new information revealed what do you guys think will end up happening? -- Tbora 23:26, 1 February 2010 (EST)
        • Exactly. Honestly, I think Samuel just meant Peter and Sylar, which earns Samuel one of Otto B's Dumb As Awards. How is CLONING going to stop PETER and SYLAR?? Answer: it's not. Although I have a sneaking suspicion that Matt is actually going to be the one to take down Eli. After all, the only storyline he's been involved in this year has been Sylar's, and I would think a mind power would be useful against a guy who clones himself... just force the disparate pieces of Eli's consciousness to join together in one body again. --Clairesxtwin48 23:37, 1 February 2010 (EST)

Charlie?

Did anybody notice in the new countdown preview that Hiro and Ando were talking to an old redhead? Chaaarlie? --William Strauss 02:27, 29 January 2010 (EST)

  • God, it's so cruel and unfair... After all they've been through... :'( AltesUTC CH 05:41, 29 January 2010 (EST)
    • Although in a sense, Hiro has still succeded in rescusing her, right? Thanks to him she's been able to live a full life, instead of being killed by Sylar. It's cruel and tragic for Hiro, certainly, because he can't be with her, but it does have its upsides. Swm 12:02, 29 January 2010 (EST)
    • This is true. It's horribly sad, but unless Hiro dies or loses his abilities again, odds are decent that he'll find a way next season to get back and bring her forward to the present. Of course, I don't know how that would fit in with Jayma Mays' work on Glee, so who can really say, beyond that I think the aged!Charlie theory is proving correct.--Clairesxtwin48 17:48, 29 January 2010 (EST)

Peter and Emma

Okay, so how do we think it'll REALLY end up playing out? Is Sylar (or, if the rumor-mongering is to be given credence, Peter-as-Sylar) going to save Emma, or is she another brilliant new character about to be killed off tragically? What's the general take on Pemma? I refuse to believe that they would set up the relationship so well, and have these two actors with so much chemistry, and then leave it strictly platonic. Perhaps something to be explored next volume? One way or another, it's all coming to a conclusion in this episode, and I for one am on the edge of my seat.--Clairesxtwin48 23:31, 29 January 2010 (EST)

  • I'd be annoyed if Emma died, not least because they've already killed off one new female character this Volume with Lydia, and I think the odds of Lauren surviving are quite long (not least because she's already been shot, seemingly has no powers, and is Noah's love interest- Samuel of course, hating Noah). Though in many respects this season seems to have been about love, with Claire/Gretchen, Hiro/Charlie, and seemingly Peter/Emma, so I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up together. How would Peter end up being Sylar? Borrow his shape-shifting again and impersonate him? Swm 05:41, 30 January 2010 (EST)
    • Well, the reigning theory is that when Peter and Sylar break out of Matt's prison, they're going to wind up in the wrong bodies, which is disturbing, to say the least. But that's off-topic. I agree with you, though. They've already killed off/written out a lot of people this season. Killing Emma as well would be superfluous and would defeat the purpose of Peter's entire character arc this season. Besides, they're just too cute together! --Clairesxtwin48 18:27, 30 January 2010 (EST)
      • That would be...interesting. In a certain sense it's repeating the identity issue with Sylar, which may get overused. On the other hand, it would be an excellent way to both tone Sylar down (one ability at a time) and give the fans what they claim to want, which is a multiple-powered Peter (despite it not being a good idea). I agree with you on the rest. Swm 06:39, 31 January 2010 (EST)
        • And that way peter could shapeshift back into his own form, Sylar taking shapeshifing from his own body, then both can look like themselves. Actually, I hope that happens. --mc_hammark 06:55, 31 January 2010 (EST)
        • Meh, I'm not crazy about the whole idea. I prefer to hope that Sylar gets his redemption by saving Emma himself, then gets killed somehow. (How, I don't know. Maybe somebody will get lucky and find his kill spot). Then we can have Peter and Emma leading the Carnival together and it'll all be wonderful and Hallmark and... oh who am I kidding? This is Heroes! --Clairesxtwin48 10:48, 31 January 2010 (EST)
