Spoilers Merge?

Do you folks mind if I merge the Spoilers page into the header of the Category:Spoilers page, and set Spoilers to redirect? I think this would help organize a little better. --Orne 10:14, 17 November 2006 (EST)

  • I think it'd be a good idea, go for it. --kcnovA23 18:51, 18 November 2006 (EST)

Upcoming Episode Spoilers

Collected this off of the intarwebs:

  • Jessalyn Gilsig will be playing the role of Claire's biological mother. Turns out she wasn't as dead as Mr. Bennet implied.
  • George Takei will be playing the "father of fan favorite character Hiro (Masi Oka)."

Spoilers Images

I took a bunch of caps from the previews which aired during the marathon. The quality isn't very good, but feel free to use them to illustrate the Spoilers articles.--Hardvice (talk) 05:07, 4 January 2007 (EST)

The spoiler tag at the top seems redundant... "Warning: Spoilers contains spoilers"

  • So is the warning on the side of a McDonalds coffee: "Warning—coffee may be hot." :) It is kind of superfluous, but sometimes people don't read the title of the article, so the red banner is a visual clue to those looking to avoid spoilers (especially if they're coming here from a random page). — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:51, 15 February 2007 (EST)
  • IMO, if someone is not wanting to see spoilers, they are going to be very careful, and walk lightly wherever they go on any Heroes sites. (if they're not very careful, it isn't our responsibility to overly worry about their carelessness). There's so much stuff out there, it would be very hard to avoid all spoilers anyway. If they overlook the warning, and pour hot coffee into their laps.....then as Gomer Pyle once said, "Fool me once, shame on you....fool me twice, shame on me!". --(HiroDynoSlayer-talk 10:06, 15 February 2007 (EST))

Latest CBR

  • Actually, not sure if there are any spoilers per se but they do clarify that Pan Green from the map and Pam Green are, in fact, the same. There's a few other interesting details that are wiki-worthy. Bkdelong 17:40, 19 February 2007 (EST)

Peter's Head being Cut Pics

Have you guys seen this pic? It was uploaded to 9th wonders yesterday, and shows Peter with what looks like a Sylar-attempted labotomy scar, as well as another pic of Sylar standing beside Peter with the scar. 1 Not sure what we should do with it, but wanted everyone here to see it if they haven't yet. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 17:07, 26 February 2007 (EST)

Sylar would get pushed out a window and die

  • Should this be "Sylar will get pushed out a window and die?" The link goes to the wrong article, so I'm not sure what it's supposed to say (will? could? ought to?), and it rather changes the nature of the spoiler.--Hardvice (talk) 17:22, 13 March 2007 (EDT)
    • Updated link and spoiler text. Better? --Xmuskrat 08:24, 14 March 2007 (EDT)

This Page Needs Help

Mostly, better formatting, especially consistent formatting for the sources, but maybe a trim of out-of-date spoilers would be nice, too. It's all just very wonky looking ATM.--Hardvice (talk) 17:33, 14 March 2007 (EDT)

  • I suggest we cut all spoilers out of this page, and simply keep each spoiler on its own page, such as Spoiler:Parasite ---- Ohmyn0.jpgOhmyn0talk.jpg 19:35, 14 March 2007 (EDT)
    • Agree. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:25, 14 March 2007 (EDT)
      • Then can we create Episode:121 pages for episodes that have not been named yet, but have a number? --Xmuskrat 21:35, 14 March 2007 (EDT)
        • And therein lies the problem: we still need a place for spoilers from unannounced episodes. Perhaps a general spoilers page would be better than the category page itself, but we need someplace centralized for spoilers from unannounced episodes or that aren't episode specific.--Hardvice (talk) 23:49, 14 March 2007 (EDT)
          • Right you are, I'd forgotten about spoilers for unnamed eps. Well, let's just standardize the danged thing. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:41, 15 March 2007 (EDT)
            • Works for me. I'd rather put these in the right place then the wrong place. What do you think about making the episode Episode:Episode 120 and and we can rename them once we get an official name? --Xmuskrat 12:43, 15 March 2007 (EDT)
              • Personally, I think it's a good idea ... but I know that idea was bandied about awhile ago, and I'm pretty sure it was rejected. I don't remember the details or the reasons, and I'm too lazy to search for the conversation (if it even existed). But yes, I think it's a good alternative until we know the title of the episode. (It still doesn't solve the problem of general non-episode-specific spoilers, though.) — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:54, 15 March 2007 (EDT)
                • IIRC, that was pretty much the reason: if we have to have a page for non-episode specific spoilers, we may as well use it for spoilers specific to unconfirmed episodes as well.--Hardvice (talk) 13:19, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

Spoiler Cleanup

OK, I've cleaned these all up a bit:

  1. There's a new Spoiler:Upcoming episodes article for general spoilers or spoilers for untitled episodes.
  2. There's a new subcategory for archived spoilers. Should make finding "current" spoilers easier.
  3. There are three new templates:
    • Template:Spoiler will add a "Spoilers" section to an article which has a corresponding spoiler article/
    • Template:Spoilermain will add a link to the main article from the spoiler article, and assign Category:Spoilers
    • Template:Archivedspoiler will add an archive message, a link to the main article, and assign Category:Archived spoilers
This means you can just switch spoilermain to archivedspoiler and the article will automatically be archived. The message and the category will both change.
  4. Unresolved: what to do with old spoilers not related to an episode (Spoiler:Zach and Spoiler:Candace, for example). If we decide these are worth archiving, then we'll need to adjust template:archivedspoiler (it's specific to episodes ATM) and add it to those articles.--Hardvice (talk) 04:07, 16 March 2007 (EDT)
  • First, thank you, Hardvice. That makes everything so much nicer and much more organized. Well done. Second, just for clarification, Template:Spoiler belongs on the main page (for instance, on .07% right now). Template:Spoilermain belongs on the actual spoiler page, and Template:Archivedspoiler replaces the spoilermain template after the spoiler has aired. (I reviewed that more for my benefit than anything else.) Third, there's no harm in putting non-episode spoilers in the archives. I'd prefer to get away from having spoilers for individual articles, so maybe we could farm those spoilers out to episodes. For insance, can't most of the Candace spoilers be moved to Spoiler:Company Man or Spoiler:Parasite? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:29, 16 March 2007 (EDT)

"Random Page"

Often, when I click "random page" a spoiler page comes up. Is it possible to make them not come up? (If not, that's what we have that big red bar for...) ---- Ohmyn0.jpgOhmyn0talk.jpg 16:51, 17 March 2007 (EDT)

  • Not that I know of... But I guess that's part of the risk you take when ask for a random page. :) — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:02, 17 March 2007 (EDT)

Promo Videos

Do we have a special place for linking to promo videos from NBC? It seems like they comprise what would be pretty popular spoiler material, since they actually show bits what has already been filmed. For example, the promo vid before Parasite clearly showed the image of Simone's body laying dead behind the fake Simone. The current one shows a future Claire talking to HRG. Where do these things go in Heroeswiki?--E rowe 11:29, 21 March 2007 (EDT)

  • There's a section for preview clips at Template:Videosplain. I would also say it's appropriate to link to it from the spoiler page. For instance, if you have a promo video for .07%, then you can put it under the Published Spoilers section on the spoiler page. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:32, 21 March 2007 (EDT)

Wizard World Q&A Session

I did some querying, but didn't find any write-ups or discussion about last week's Wizard World Q&A session. (If I am reinventing this discussion, point me to the proper place.) Anyway, in the second Q&A clip, which had Tim Kring present, as well as a host of writers, producers, etc from the show, a question was asked about Peter's absorbtion of Sylar's powers, and how/when that worked. Heroes' writer Joe Pokaski said that Peter just being in the presence of Sylar, gives Peter all of Sylar's powers. He even clarified to say that their final cliff-hanger meeting in Parasite gave Peter all of Sylar's powers to date, including specifically Zane Taylor's melting power.

This would mean that Peter now (as of Parasite) has:

  • Cryokinesis (from Sylar)
  • Enhanced Hearing (from Sylar)
  • Enhanced Memory (from Sylar)
  • Intuitive Aptitude (from Sylar)
  • Liquification (from Sylar)
  • Mental Manipulation (from the Haitian)
  • Persuasion (from Eden)

I looked but couldn't find a page we have of spoiler info we have that is given out in interviews, writer Q&As, etc... Is there such a page, if not, should we create one? --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 03/26/2007 17:35 (EST)

  • That's pretty much what all of the spoilers pages are, but in this case, since it relates to no particular episode, it would go on Spoiler:Upcoming episodes, which is the catch-all page. You could also make a Spoiler:Peter Petrelli page (like the now-defunct Spoiler:Candace Willmer article). But spoilers are generally sorted by subject, not by source.--Hardvice (talk) 17:40, 26 March 2007 (EDT)
    • I just posted it there. Have I left off any powered people that Peter has been in the presence of?

Season 3 Spoilers

I'm sure we can all agree Season 2 ended and Season 3 will begin with the Sylar alley scene. So should we create a Season 3 Spoilers section, and if so, does anyone have any initial contributions? --TRECORD-- Talk/Contrib 17:55, 7 January 2008 (EST)

  • Actually, you can call them Volume 3 spoilers. The movement of Volume 3 to fall is probably not going to be confirmed until February.--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:11, 7 January 2008 (EST)
  • What? Volume 2 and Volume 3 break at the scene where Sylar regains his power. We have no idea whether or not Season Two will continue. Miami is right, nothing is confirmed yet, and will not be until probably February. Until then, any Volume 3 spoilers should be be put on the Season Two spoilers page. I don't mind a separate section for "Volume Three spoilers" though. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:54, 7 January 2008 (EST)

Past tense is a spoiler

I don't like those "was" in the first line of characters like Jason e.g.; otherwise we are so spoiler sensitive! Who has read all iStories and webisodes? And now I see Rebel already redirected to Micah, poor British readers... --Juba 15:40, 25 March 2009 (EDT)
