Release Date?

Is there any pattern to the release dates for the Graphic Novels? Do we have a page on this wiki that lists the release dates?--AverageMan 13:45, 8 January 2007 (EST)

  • Release dates for graphic novels? No, not really. I thought they would be on each page like the Episodes. Let me put something in the Infobox template to allow a "release date" variable. --Orne 14:48, 8 January 2007 (EST)
    • Wikipedia has the following table. We could incorporate those dates into our templates. --Orne 15:00, 8 January 2007 (EST)
      • A "Release Date" variable is a great idea". They kind of follow a pattern that they're usually released after an episode airs. The pattern was thrown off a bit during the hiatus, but they've still come out every Monday night/Tuesday morning (I think around 3 am). - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:07, 8 January 2007 (EST)
        • Wow, I can't believe a used Wikipedia's Heroes information as a source! :) - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:18, 8 January 2007 (EST)

Easter Egg: SOMA

I was just reading about this odd easter egg that's been found in the graphic novels called "SOMA". Has anyone else mentioned this? As of yet, no one seems to know what it means, but it's clearly something we should be watching for... Aftermath Control Wireless 2--Yoshie 09:45, 9 January 2007 (EST)

  • According to what I've been reading, it's an easter egg related to the artist, Micah Gunnell. He's not only inserted it into all of the issues of "Heroes" that he's been commissioned to draw, but also every issue of "Shrugged". Curious! Also curiously, he shares his name with one of the cast. :)--Yoshie 09:58, 9 January 2007 (EST)
    • Here you go: Soma --Orne 10:23, 9 January 2007 (EST)

Next Four GNs

POSSIBLE SPOILER: I don't have an original source, but Jason Badower posted on his blog that "the next four comics are by the same artist and feature one character." Don't know more than that -- my guess is Candace. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:25, 1 March 2007 (EST)

How many

Do we know how many issues will there be ? I'm printing every issue and I want to make a "book" of them. But I need to know how much issue there will be until "season two GN"! Thanks. -- FrenchFlo (talk)        13:48, 30 May 2007 (EDT)

  • Wish I knew. They've been pretty good about doing one GN per week, even during the breaks. I think there was one or two weeks during the first hiatus that they missed, but they've have a pretty good track record since then. Hopefully we'll have one per week, if we're lucky! — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:53, 30 May 2007 (EDT)
    • So far they've only missed 1 week back in December.Citizen

Delineate S1/S2?

If NBC continues to release GNs in this fashion, this portal might soon get messy and unwieldy. Are there any thoughts of sorting these out into Season 1, Summer 1, Season 2 etc.? --SacValleyDweller 20:42, 15 September 2007 (EDT)

  • The graphic novels don't really fall into seasons so it wouldn't make as much sense to organize them by what season (or even between which seasons) the novel is released. I think the way it's done now will work nicely for quite some time. We have other portals much larger than this. If it did get too large we could just increase the number of graphic novels represented by each section and that would trim it down. (Admin 20:52, 15 September 2007 (EDT))
    • The Graphic Novel Collection that is coming out is including issues 1-34. I have no idea how they're classifying the in-between issues, 35-51. I think it's best, in the case of the graphic novels, to put them in one place as they are now. If somebody is interested in which season a particular issue "belongs", the release dates are all listed on the GN pages themselves. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:06, 16 September 2007 (EDT)

Graphic Novel Transcripts??

I know that they have transcribed all Season 1 and 2 epis, and the SwordSaint films....does anyone know of a website that has transcripts of the GNs? It would be great to have them in text format, to be able to do word/phrase searching. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 05/22/2008 12:36 (EST)

  • There's isn't one as far as I know, and we don't do that cause of copyrights.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:53, 22 May 2008 (EDT)
  • If you find one, let me know. Or, if you make a file of them, send it to me. The Season One transcript file you made for me a while back comes in very handy--I use it all the time! (Any chance you have a Season Two file?) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:23, 22 May 2008 (EDT)
    • For transcripts of the season 2 episodes, follow this link.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:46, 22 May 2008 (EDT)
      • Yeah, I know. HDS had put all the Season One transcripts on one page so that you could search just that one page instead of clicking through 23 pages and doing 23 searches. I'm hoping he has something similar for S2, as that would make my life 11 times more efficient. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:57, 22 May 2008 (EDT)
        • Couldn't you just copy and paste them into a word document yourself?--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:18, 23 May 2008 (EDT)
          • I did that, but it's bulky (hundreds of pages), it's a pain to open, and it's not very well formatted. HDS did a much nicer job, but I don't know how he did it. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:56, 23 May 2008 (EDT)
  • Yes, I'll email it next week(it's at the office computer). I just finished adding S2 & SS to it. Was hoping to find the GNs and add them, but no luck. I did transcribe "Monsters", (same looking format), but it just takes too long, and their are too many. However, if we could get "a team" of 8 interested folks or so to agree to transcribe 10 apiece, we'd have the entire GN archive transcribed in no time, and I'd be glad to do one per work after that, to keep it current, and email it back to the other transcribers. I also wonder, if we were to duly credit NBC, and all involved GN parties, if we couldn't post the transcriptions just like kilohoku does by adding a disclaimer tag like they do?--HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 05/24/2008 09:48 (EST)

Latest novel link

I added a link to the latest graphic novel on this page. I was just thinking that the novel changes so often that it might be a good idea, and it makes it a lot easier to find the newest novel since it eliminates an extra click. If we don't like it, it can easily be removed... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:21, 10 June 2008 (EDT)

  • I think that's a great idea, though we will still have to remember to update the subportals.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:23, 10 June 2008 (EDT)

The Kill Squad trilogy

Just a heads-up, Harrison Wilcox posted at 9thWonders to share that he wrote the next graphic novel, The Kill Squad. Michael Gaydos did the artwork, with colors by Chris Sotomayor. 'ROESian (same sort of info as here, fwiw)

Canon/Continuity Status

Is there anything that proves that the Graphic Novels are canon or in the same continuity as the show? I want to show a fool he is wrong when he says they aren't. --Snow Leapord 11:39, 12 October 2008 (EDT)

Early GN linked NBC images no longer work

Can we do something about many of the early GNs whose pages no longer exist on the NBC site, making many of the GN pages here go to broken links? Could we replace these with the images hosted elsewhere? NileQT87 00:44, 2 October 2009 (EDT)

  • Which ones? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:04, 2 October 2009 (EDT)
    • About 50%+ of the pages now go to broken links, while the .pdfs still remain active. Monsters works (with the exception of page 5--some have missing pages like that), but then the pages until Foresight (minus several issues that seem to still be up) don't work. After that, they all appear to work still. NileQT87 04:03, 3 October 2009 (EDT)

  • Heroes is canceled, but what about GN's?? Are they still going to do those? -User:Electrokinetic1035
    • We don't know. There is one more written and illustrated and was scheduled to be released last week. We're still waiting on it. I doubt we'll get any more than that one. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:11, 2 June 2010 (EDT)
      • Yeah, I was hoping they would finish up the Primetech series then that would be it.
