Adrenaline

Meredith picks up a vial of adrenaline.

First mentioned: Blackout, Part 1

Adrenaline or epinephrine is a natural hormone found in many animals that accelerates physical performance in times of stress. It has medical uses, including treatment for cardiac arrest and severe allergic reactions. Adrenaline is linked to the special abilities of evolved humans, and Mohinder isolated his original version of the formula from a sample of Maya's adrenaline.

About

Graphic Novel:Blackout, Part 1

During a blackout at a New York City hospital, an adult patient experiences cardiac arrest. A doctor and nurse try to revive him with a shot of adrenaline.

The Second Coming

Mohinder watches Maya's ability activate and realizes that abilities are based in the adrenal glands. He takes a sample of her adrenaline.

Later, at a pier, he injects himself with it, giving him a monstrous ability.

Dual

Sylar injects Meredith with a large dose of adrenaline, causing her power to become uncontrollable. She begins to involuntarily release bursts of flame that become larger and more frequent as time passes. Eventually, her ability creates an explosion that sets the entire building on fire.

Graphic Novel:Rebellion, Part 2

Normally, Sparrow Redhouse cannot manipulate earth unless she is touching the ground. However, she believes that she is able to manipulate earth while falling through the air because of the adrenaline throbbing through her.
