Into Asylum
Nathan and Claire fly down to Pátzcuaro, and stay at the Puerta al Cielo Motel. All their money is only enough for one night of stay at the motel, and so Nathan seeks to earn money by entering a drinking contest with some college kids at the local cantina. Hess, Rahul, and Bernie soon lose out, and Nathan competes with Sligo. When Nathan can no longer take it, Claire opts to take his place. She uses her healing ability to keep her liver tissue from damaging and she does not get drunk. When Sligo finally collapses, Claire takes the money and Nathan flies them back to the motel room. Inside, Nathan promises to fix up his screw-ups, but the next morning Nathan says that he didn't mean it; he was drunk. Claire angrily leaves the room. However, later, Nathan has bought Claire a necklace, and the two of them walk away on the streets of Pátzcuaro.
