Saving the World

"Downloading"

Upon rereading the novel and our summaries, I think we need to be careful about using the word "downloading" to describe what Elle does with the information on the mainframe. Though perhaps technically correct (in some cases of the word), "download" usually has a technological connotation: We download files from the internet, from our email, from a computer to a disk, etc. Matt's brain may act as a computer, but it's still a human brain, not an actual computer. Elle uses the goggles to display the information so that Matt can visually record things in his brain. It's more of a photographic memory than it is wires and plugging in....Food for thought... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:29, 23 January 2008 (EST)
