- Also in 1999, Peter's film, Extraordinary Visitor, received an Audience Award from Dances With Films. The same film was nominated for a Genie Award in 2000.

- Peter Barnett is the president of the Nova Pictures production company, which is co-producing the Destiny webisodes for Heroes with Moving Parts Inc..
- Besides his Hollywood career, Peter Barnett is a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a combat helicopter pilot and intelligence officer. He has received two Air Medals for Heroic Achievement. Peter served in Southwest Asia during the Gulf War and continues his service as a reserve mobilization officer.
