For all users looking at this page and not understanding, the User:Cockney Heroes namespace, is a work of fan fiction which Gabriel Bishop, Irony, Laughing Devil Boy, Leckie and Radicell work on. Thanks :)

Good Idea

Idea

  • Hey guys, I've got an idea. Right now, every single episode is listed in full on the first page (transclusions are used). It's alright now, but as CH grows, it'll get clogged up. My idea is to make user:Cockney Heroes more of an "overview page" of the entire show. It'll mirror the Heroes page in Heroes Wiki. Inside it, there will be links to individual seasons -- the only one right now is Season One. The Season One page will then mirror the Season One page of the real Heroes Wiki. I've created an example here. Then, each episode page, for example, Nemesis, can be expanded to include a summary, a sidebar, an appearances section, etc. It'll make everything look and work nicer.     • We were planning to make the main page a summary (just haven't had time) but your idea could work as well. I was thinking making the season page into a summary page similar to yours, but instead of the links to individual episodes (that's kinda more for us to use) I was thinking of making volume pages. I think you raise some very good points, its nice to know we picked the right person to win! I don't think we will make any changes however until next week and we have discussed this. We will keep you informed at every stage if you are not on MSN.       • So it looks like my main page idea was adopted, cool. So are the individual episode pages going to stay as is, like a sort of template page? That's fine I guess. I cannot say if you will be introduced (not my department) I do however think you will be introduced in the first ep of volume 2.                 • Thanks Leckie. I myself need to find a "job" for CH soon! :D Some (very minor) things to consider in the meantime:
1. I'm not sure about the ability pages. They seem to have been copied from the Heroes universe pages, then we added our CH info to it. Not a big deal, but the Heroes info isn't really part of the CH universe, and it could get out of sync. If it were up to me, I'd use our ability pages solely for documenting their uses in the CH universe, and making a link, such as:
For notes on flight in the Heroes universe, see Flight.
2. Some of the self-links on the universal navbar don't work. Not a big deal at all, but could be fixed with separate episode pages.
3. Not sure if it was a trend of CH, but technically, the correct form of capitalizations for abilities, places, and the such, is simply capitalizing the first word if the title is not a proper noun. So "Etheric Projection" would, technically, be "Etheric projection". No capitalized P. However, since we're pretty consistent across all the pages, this is a very minor thing and isn't in absolute need of changing. -- Cockney HeroesRadicell 09:32, 8 May 2009 (EDT)

Well, for number 3 it is a trend, it kinda serarates us a bit more, as for 1 it is a good idea, I was also concerned with the constency (if you look at the character pages, we have done it for that). As for 2, what do you mean? I am in the process of upadating the autonav on each page. Check the autonav on a character page or the main page, do you still have a problem? Linking to the episode page is an idea, but for me personally I don't like it (as I feel like it is my domain lol, as I am the only one who adits those pages once the ep is put on there) however, if Leckie, GB or Irony agree with you I dont have a problem. In regards to a job, I was going to sugest you help fix up the pages with me and leckie and be the Idea man lol as you seem to have several very good ones :) I will discuss this with Irony and GB and direct their attention to this page.       • To upload an Image to Heroes Wiki ,click on this link http://heroeswiki.com/Special:Upload . You need to save the image to your documents and make sure that it is any of the permitted file types: png, gif, jpg, jpeg, ogg. Then you need to add a small summary about why you have uploaded it.                   • Danko, I have uploaded the file (Sorry I took so long). I think that the image is fine for use within CH. To change a file to jpg for use on HW, what you need to do is this; Open the file with Paint - Go to file and click save as - Under the Name of the file it says(Save as type) click this and it comes up with a list for you to convert the file to - Then click on Jpeg or Jpg and you are sorted - Then click the link to upload files on HW and use that! -- Cockney HeroesLeckie 16:10, 20 May 2009 (EDT)

Suggestion

Hi guys. I have a suggestion for you. Before I start, note that I am in no way forcing you to do anything, merely offering you my point of view on something. I don't know if all of you have noticed (Irony and LDB probably have), but there's a lot of edits to the Cockney Heroes namespace and it makes it hard to patrol a lot. Have you guys ever considered moving to another wiki? Wikia offers free wiki hosting, you guys could have the domain name cockneyheores.wikia.com or whatever you wish, and it would help tidy up this wiki a bit. Again, I'm not forcing you to do anything, but I just thought I'd make this suggestion and see what you think. Thanks guys. -- Tristan0709 talk 20:15, 30 May 2009 (EDT)

Outrageous trying to get rid of our best patrollers and users to HW, don't you dare leave us CH! Anyway most of these guys are patrollers so just they can patrol the CH material and others don't have to worry. Problem solved, dilemma over-- By Danko CH 04:59, 31 May 2009 (EDT)
