New Interview

Hey, all. I'm going to be interviewing the writers and directors of the Slow Burn webisodes. This includes Zach Craley, Oliver Grigsby, Jim Martin, Foz McDermott, Harrison Wilcox, Tanner Kling, and Chris Hanada. I'll be sending the questions after Part 10 is released. If you have a question you'd like me to include submit it below and I'll see if I can include it with all of the other questions. Most questions should be very general, since they will be answered by at least seven people. However, if you have a specific question, you may submit it, and I'll see what I can do about including it. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:40, 19 November 2009 (EST)

  • I sent out the questions last week and have been getting all the responses back late last week and early this week. Harrison no longer works for Heroes, so he's the only one who didn't respond. Chris and Tanner responded together. Responses were great--I can't wait to share it with everybody! I mixed and matched some of the responses and Frankensteined it all together. I just submitted it to Joe and Carri so they can run it through NBC's publicity department. I should get it back soon. As soon as I do, I'll post it here. Thanks for your help, everybody! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:34, 18 December 2009 (EST)
    • Another great interview, Ryan! Thanks for getting it done and posted! Just finished advertising it on IMDb and 9th Wonders; I assume you'll e-mail the rest a notification. It was interesting to get another perspective and learn how this series came together.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:47, 8 January 2010 (EST)
      • Thanks, as always, Miami. Yep, I emailed a bunch of different administrators of fan sites and blogs. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:22, 8 January 2010 (EST)

Questions

It was said that Caleb's power was to be revealed in the webisodes, but was cut due to time issues. What was his original ability to be before Spider mimicry?--Ratclaws 09:21, 19 November 2009 (EST)

I have some couple of questions about Amanda: What is going to happen to her after the webisode serial? Is she going to appear on the general show? If it is, it's going to be something different from Echo (who barely appeared), Santiago (who never appeared), Rachel (she wasn't that prodominant), Knox (who was killed off) or Eric (the poor guy after the webisodes was never seen again)? Is the character based on someone special? Why did you chose this ability? --Manwithnoname 06:04, 20 November 2009 (EST)

  • Just a heads up about your question MWNN, I'd take out the Eric bit... --mc_hammark 11:28, 29 November 2009 (EST)
    • i was surprised when eric appeared again, tough i doubt we will seen again soon--Manwithnoname 21:28, 5 December 2009 (EST)
      • He will have his own iStory starting next week. ~~IHHTalk 22:08, 5 December 2009 (EST)
        • that's good... but i was thinking about screen time --Manwithnoname 14:27, 8 December 2009 (EST)
          • keep watching. --mc_hammark 14:11, 19 December 2009 (EST)

First off, thank you for making a series of webisodes longer than 3 or 4 parts! Second, do these coincide with the series, like for a timeline page, what time period are we looking at? When is it taking place? ~~IHHTalk 15:28, 20 November 2009 (EST)

If each of you were to join the carnival, what would your act be and would it involve powers? And what clothes would you wear? --mc_hammark 10:08, 22 November 2009 (EST)

Where did you come up with the idea to use the characters you are using? Also, to branch on Mc hammark's question, which powers would they be? --Leckie -- Talk 15:18, 22 November 2009 (EST)

Caleb was introduced in the webisodes and was brought onto the show (for a minor part in an episode), as was Amanda. This means that the Slow Burn webisodes has no webisode-only characters. Are there, or were there, any plans to introduce a character who is strictly for the webisode series? Josh KorolenkoUTChronicles

I was wondering why you chose Amanda, a totally new and unfamiliar to fans character to center on in webisode series. I mean, why not Lydia or Edgar, who had appeared in two or three episodes before Slow Burn series, but Amanda, who debuted in a graphic novel? Was it because it's kinda easier to show Samuel's carnival from third-person perspective, or because you're keeping some other secrets about carnies for episodes to come? AltesUTC CH 11:18, 29 November 2009 (EST)

  • In terms of writing, there were an impressive array of tie-ins for Slow Burn with the webisode segments, the interactive story parts, and some of the graphic novels. How far in advance did you have to prepare? Were there any special preparations made to keep the story segments together? How did it work to have five writers work on this webisode series?
  • Were the sets for Carol Strazzulla's home (Amanda's room) and the Carnival shots all filmed on the Universal lot? If there were any redecorated shots that we might recognize, what were they?
  • Since most of the story appeared to be on the main set of the Carnival used in the episodes, how did that work out in terms of scheduling use of the set between the directors? Were the related episodes and webisodes for Heroes filmed at the same day? How long did this webisode series take to shoot?
  • Chris Hanada and Tanner Kling, directors/producers from Retrofit Films, are also involved in shooting a webisode series for The Vampire Diaries. Did you guys have to go back and forth between sets like they when filming the Heroes: Nowhere Man and Gossip Girl webisodes?

--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:40, 1 December 2009 (EST)

  • Will the Non-US people ever get to see webisodes? EVER?? --Isaac Mendez 08:10, 3 December 2009 (EST)
