Ted's marks
Name meaning
I've been asked this quite a bit, so I have it all rehearsed, lol. It breaks into The-Requiem-Bell-Is-Here. I went through an emo phase that still lingers, so I've kept it on. A requiem is a funereal mass and the church bell is one of the main instruments used. It's also a line from the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney World! (Albeit warped a little). Therequiembellishere 19:29, 29 December 2007 (EST)
* Out of curiosity, why do you keep removing the section in Ted Sprague about the mark? It's in the aired episode.--Hardvice <small>(talk)</small> 17:33, 10 November 2006 (EST)
* Go cut youself emo. Haha no. :P -- 20:35, 29 December 2007 (EST)
** Because it wasn't in the actually episode. It was in the preview for the next episode.
*** It really was in the episode. At least, it was in the one I recorded on my DVR and the one I got through iTunes. It's a quick scene, just before they cut back to Matt and show his mark, just before he punches his former partner.--Hardvice <small>(talk)</small> 17:38, 10 November 2006 (EST)

Character Histories
:)
* Hey, Heroe. For the character articles we shouldn't just take the episode synopsis word for word. The character history per episode should be more of a summary of the significant events versus a second by second account of what happened like the synopsis is. :) (Admin 11:51, 21 November 2006 (EST))
* Oh, okay. I just noticed that the character histories needed updates, but I'm not the best at writing summaries :-P I'll jsut leave it for someone else to do.

****Damn, that is a lot. I may need to get a second mouse. :P -- 23:20, 9 February 2008 (EST)
***** There's no rush especially on the older ones. Usually, though not always, mistakes with older edits are caught when people check out pages after more recent edits. Just make sure to examine each edit before patrolling it and to focus on more recent ones because that's where mistakes are more likely. (Admin 23:24, 9 February 2008 (EST))
****** Is there way to permanently hide patrolled edits on Recent Changes? It's a bit annoying that I constantly have to click "Hide patrolled edits" every time I go back to recent changes. -- 23:26, 9 February 2008 (EST)
******* I don't think so, no. Unless you bookmark the URL Ryan provided above and just use that to get to the recent changes each time. (Admin 23:28, 9 February 2008 (EST))
******* Yeah, that's a good suggestion since there's no option in preferences to do that. Another option is to copy the link once you got the recent changes how you like them, then paste the url into your userpage. A toolbar link that displays a custom "Patrol changes" link only for administrators and patrollers group members is probably possible, not sure.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:37, 9 February 2008 (EST)
******* I use Firefox, which is a tabbed browser. My first tab is almost always recent changes. I get the page to look how I want (hide my edits, hide edits made to theory pages, show only unpatrolled edits, whatever you want, though I usually look at everything). Then I start looking at each edit from the bottom up, and I do that by opening each edit in a new tab (Ctrl+click, though Shift+click works to open each edit in a new window if you don't have a tabbed browser). After I get to the top of the recent changes page, I click the date (it says "Show new changes starting from [DATE]) which will show me only the edits made after I originally opened the recent changes page. It's really quite nice, and doing so keeps whatever format changes you've made to RC (like hiding patrolled edits). Then I just repeat the patrolling process, starting at the bottom of the new RC page and head to the top. It sounds like a lot, but it's really pretty automatic once you get the hang of it. Let me know if you need me to explain more; I can do screencaps if you're not familiar with some of the options I mentioned. -- 08:32, 10 February 2008 (EST)
******** It looks like you're getting the hang of patrolling. Do you have any questions about any of the shortcuts, tricks, and tips? -- 22:38, 10 February 2008 (EST)

Talk page fix.
Hi, Heroe. I noticed you've taken out some of the "lesser" examples on a few of the powers pages. Before we start deleting any examples, we should discuss it. You might want to check out (and add to) the discussion about this at this link. The general concesus seems to be 10-12 powers for the examples, and somehow archiving the others. If you have an opinion, we'd love for you to voice it here before deleting any more examples. == Patrolling guidelines ==

Hey, Heroe. As we approach the start of a new season and what promises to be a very busy time on the wiki, I suggested some tips for patrolling here. Check them out when you get a chance. Thanks! -- 20:57, 19 September 2008 (EDT)
Hey, Heroe. I switched the status of Monty & Simon Petrelli's powers to "None" - we leave it as such until a character exhibits such powers. For instance, Micah was at "None" until he showed his powers. In contrast, Sylar was at "Unknown" - because we knew he had a power, we just didn't know what it was. Just wanted to explain. :) - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:30, 14 January 2007 (EST)

Part of the reason there are so many is that it's hard to edit them in any great detail because they are so active. I'm planning to lock them one at a time tomorrow night when things are slowest and scrub them clean (links, spelling, grammar, formatting ... the whole nine yards). I've tried editing them (even a section at a time) in greater detail than a quick spellcheck and gotten an edit conflict every time. I must say, I'm quite looking forward to giving them a thorough clean-up once and for all!--Hardvice <small>(talk)</small> 15:13, 10 February 2007 (EST)

Hello, I beleive you took my contribution down concerning sylar 's healing. In the first part of the season we see him get shot several times and then gets up and walks away. As far as his hunting down the Cheerleader, he has no way of know what her full abilities are until he opens her up. please add this back in.

Also, peter now has acces to multiple abilites, as such he has all abilities that Sylar has when they met in Texas. Plus all abilities that he has come into contact with.

thanks, Jtempkin

We didn't actually see him use the healing, thus we can't confirm that he has healing. <span style="color:green;">Heroe</span> 21:11, 26 February 2007 (EST)

How do I get screencaps? I'm trying to get a picture of the tuning fork. <span style="color:green;">Heroe</span> 23:22, 8 March 2007 (EST)
*Good morning, Heroe! There are a couple good ways to get screencaps.
*# If you have TiVo and can burn the show onto a DVD, then you can grab screencaps from the DVD -- but I'm assuming you probably don't have that, otherwise you wouldn't have asked. :) I'm in the same boat, so I use a few different methods.
*# One of the best ways to get screencaps is to use the screencap site -- its not exhaustive, but it's pretty darn good. What's nice is usually the caps are 624x352, which makes it really easy to crop the caps to 450x350. (Incidentally, there are 2 good shots of the tuning fork, here and , but essentially, they're the same as this one, which we already have uploaded.)
*# Another way to get screencaps is to request them from the screencaps page -- it takes a little longer because you have to wait for somebody like Hardvice to grab them, but those requests always get fulfilled -- especially during the hiatus.
*# Lastly, you can go to NBC.com, watch the video, and grab a cap that way (pressing the "PrintScreen" button on your keyboard will copy the whole screen to your clipboard, and then you can paste it into an image editor. However, I don't suggest this method, since the quality of the NBC.com videos are very poor. I would only use this method as a placeholder...and be sure to mark the image to be reuploaded.
*Hope that helps! :) &mdash; <font color=#0147FA>RyanGibsonStewart</font> (<font color=#0147FA>talk</font>) 07:43, 9 March 2007 (EST)

  • I made you a patroller. You've done a good job in the past of keeping an eye on edits. Keep up the good work. :) (Admin 22:19, 9 February 2008 (EST))
  • Yay! :D So, how do I mark an edit as patrolled? I read about little ! next to edits on recent changes, but I can't click them. --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 22:24, 9 February 2008 (EST)
    • You might need to refresh, or even log out and log back in. All edits from today have been taken care of, so you might want to click "Hide patrolled edits". -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:26, 9 February 2008 (EST)
      • Congrats and welcome aboard the patrollers group. :) Currently, there are still a large portion of my edits unpatrolled. If you don't see any, click the 30 day option and to hide patrolled edits. Then, click on the link for the diff (or the article itself if no diff). Click [mark this article as patrolled] if it's okay; or edit it and then mark it or vice versa.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:14, 9 February 2008 (EST)
        • Damn, that is a lot. I may need to get a second mouse. :P --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 23:20, 9 February 2008 (EST)
          • There's no rush especially on the older ones. Usually, though not always, mistakes with older edits are caught when people check out pages after more recent edits. Just make sure to examine each edit before patrolling it and to focus on more recent ones because that's where mistakes are more likely. (Admin 23:24, 9 February 2008 (EST))
            • Is there way to permanently hide patrolled edits on Recent Changes? It's a bit annoying that I constantly have to click "Hide patrolled edits" every time I go back to recent changes. --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 23:26, 9 February 2008 (EST)
              • I don't think so, no. Unless you bookmark the URL Ryan provided above and just use that to get to the recent changes each time. (Admin 23:28, 9 February 2008 (EST))
              • Yeah, that's a good suggestion since there's no option in preferences to do that.
              • I use Firefox, which is a tabbed browser. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:32, 10 February 2008 (EST)
                • It looks like you're getting the hang of patrolling. Do you have any questions about any of the shortcuts, tricks, and tips? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:38, 10 February 2008 (EST)

Talk page fix.

Patrolling guidelines

Hey, Heroe. As we approach the start of a new season and what promises to be a very busy time on the wiki, I suggested some tips for patrolling here. Check them out when you get a chance. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:57, 19 September 2008 (EDT)

When you revert, you need to say why

Especially if you are reverting on a theory page, where users may speculate. It is not appropriate to remove text just because you don't like the theory on a theory page. If you don't leave a comment as to why it just means editing wars.--Bradtem 22:09, 24 September 2008 (EDT)

  • All I did was fix capitalization errors and put something of mine that someone removed back. --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 11:48, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

Existential crisis

May you recover quickly. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:16, 2 December 2008 (EST)

  • I also hope you recover quickly. When you return, you may want to contribute to Talk:Deveaux Society; do you still consider it a potential spoiler?--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:19, 13 December 2008 (EST)

Welcome back!

Hey there! Haven't seen you around in awhile... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:58, 11 February 2009 (EST)

  • Yeah. To be honest, I was disappointed with Villains so I stopped watching for a while. But the newest episode was pretty good, so I think I'll go back to being a regular editor. --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 21:00, 11 February 2009 (EST)
