At Burger Bonanza, Mr. Lamont calls Monica aside to discuss her application for the management training position. He tells her that, while her test scores were acceptable, the company considered her home life too unstable. He reminds her gently that she's lucky to have a job when so many others in post-Katrina New Orleans don't.
Later that night, he decides to close the restaurant early. He tells Monica to lock up the front while he locks the back. He returns from the back just in time to see Monica clobber a would-be robber with a spectacular spinning kick.
