Shalim Ortiz is the Puerto Rican singer and actor who portrays Alejandro Herrera.
About
Born in Puerto Rico, Shalim began his career in a television show called Los Angelitos, and then took on guest host jobs and modeling gigs. He eventually relocated to Miami where he joined the Thespian Society of Performing Arts. His acting career took off beginning with theater, including the lead role in the musical cabaret Rocio in Spite of It All. His film and television credits include Spin (for which he also sang the title song on the soundtrack), Lizzie McGuire, S-Club 7, Engaged and Guardian. He will appear in the upcoming films Art of Travel and Yuniol.

- Shalim's father is Elin Ortiz, a popular Puerto Rican entertainer. His mother is Charytin Goyco, a famous Dominican singer.
