Genesis

Mohinder enters Chandra's apartment and finds a cassette tape bearing the identification 'Sylar'. In this episode, it is not played; but in a deleted scene, the tape is played, and contains a conversation between Chandra and Paul E. Sylar.

Another deleted scene shows a quick glimpse of Mohinder meeting Paul E. Sylar, wearing a dark trench-coat and top-hat.

Don't Look Back

Mohinder and Eden listen to an answering machine message conversation between Mr. Sylar and Chandra.

One Giant Leap

Mohinder and Eden find a notebook in Chandra's laptop with the following name and address:

SYLAR

1146 TRENTON PLACE APT 1B

QUEENS, NY 11011

They go to that address, and find a file about Sylar, a map similar to Chandra's map, and a picture of a Catholic Altar-boy, and a birth announcement for Paul E. Sylar.

Also, they find writings on the wall in red stating, "Forgive me.....(multiple times)...for I have sinned", a statement from the Catholic rite of confession.

Six Months Ago

Sylar identifies himself by the name Gabriel Sylar.

Notes

• It is unclear presently, whether "Paul E. Sylar", "Mr. Sylar", "Gabriel Sylar", "Gabriel Gray", or "Sylar" are all aliases for the same person.
• It is possible that Paul E. Sylar was simply an early story-arc that was later abandoned for the current Gabriel Gray arc on Sylar's origin.
• The deleted scene showing Paul E. Sylar, is not portrayed by Zachary Quinto.
• A notebook entry from the Unaired pilot is shown with the following name and address:
