If you are serious about getting into the USA television/film market, you might want to consider registering with [https://secure.imdb.com/freetrial IMDb Pro], [http://www.jurgita.com Jugita] and/or contacting a talent agent that can register you with the different casting agencies in Hollywood. For the Netherlands, a simple search turned up [http://www.jvtalentnetwork.com/talent/contactus.htm JV Entertainment] in LA (which works with European actors), and [http://www.kftv.com/company.asp?ck=9219&pn=6039 Thea Meulenberg Casting] in Amsterdam. From what I grasped from the interview, most of what Jason La Padura's casting agency does is search through their electronic database of registered actors for parts that are going to be needed on the show. An unsolicited letter may or may not work, but I thought I would point you to the more traditional methods as well. :) Good luck!--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 14:51, 13 August 2007 (EDT) |

Logo
- Is this logo the image in its original format, or did you create it as a TIFF or PNG before converting it to JPEG? (Admin 16:23, 5 July 2007 (EDT))
- I originally saved it as a jpg. I can convert it to png or some other format if you need....Speaking of the logo, I know there was a bit of talk about tweaking it a bit. You saw that I uploaded a few different versions, and I'm not opposed to changing it if needed. I wasn't quite sure how to do the border as you suggested. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 16:51, 5 July 2007 (EDT)
- Could you save it as a PNG? I want to use the original one for now. The border won't even really be noticible at 160x160. If someone wants to clean up the border later on I can always update it. (Admin 19:29, 5 July 2007 (EDT))
- Image:Logo by RGS.png -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 19:36, 5 July 2007 (EDT)
- Just thinking, I can resize it to 160x160 if you need, of course. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 19:36, 5 July 2007 (EDT)
- That's ok, I'll take care of it. I'll need to modify it a little bit anyway to give it the right amount of spacing at the top. (Admin 20:13, 5 July 2007 (EDT))

24
I am indeed Conspiracy Unit from the 24 wiki. 24 is no longer my favourite show; that honour is Heroes'. Were you a user over there? --Conspiracy Unit 21:27, 6 July 2007 (EDT)
- A little bit. I enjoy 24, but find it somewhat uneven. Still a fun ride. I use 24 Wiki mostly for the actor pages or if I miss an episode. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 21:31, 6 July 2007 (EDT)
hi-def
- The high definition pictures are very pretty. Just be careful not to replace too many with high definition versions since in many cases they're a whole lot larger and the extra detail doesn't substantially enhance the quality of the article it's included in. We should definitely use them in instances where they help reveal a detail that's not visible at a lower resolution, but for most images it will just eat up bandwidth and increase the page load time. (Admin 21:02, 9 July 2007 (EDT))
- Thanks. I'm resizing most of them to 450x350. I'm leaving the art ones as full size as possible. I've actually noticed that some of them are smaller file sizes. For instance, 127→126 KB, 95→93 KB, and 93→87 KB...Are there any in particular you feel are needlessly large? I'd be happy to fix any superfluous changes. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 21:10, 9 July 2007 (EDT)
- Nah, they look ok at the moment. I just want to make sure we don't start a trend of replacing all our images with high-def ones where they might look a little nicer, but otherwise don't significantly add to the quality of the article they're used in. The ones that are around the same size as before are probably high-def images taken from low-def sources, so they've been a waste the whole time and at least now we're getting something out of that extra size. :) (Admin 21:20, 9 July 2007 (EDT))
- Actually, I just uploaded the last of the ones I have. No worries ... until Season Two. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 21:47, 9 July 2007 (EDT)

Confused
hey there, I saw that there's been a bit of an overhaul of the Candice article - splitting it and such. Is this going to be a site-wide thing, experiment, or...? Thanks for your help. -- Lost Soul 07:06, 19 July 2007 (EDT)
- The general consensus is to take main characters (and any "long" articles) and split their Season One histories off, kind of the way we did for Candice, FBI, and the Company. So, yes, site-wide, but not for every article. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 08:17, 19 July 2007 (EDT)
- Oh, OK. I would help, but I don't think I'd be able to do the summary. I'll see how I feel. Thanks! -- Lost Soul 10:08, 19 July 2007 (EDT)
- You're more than welcome to help out, of course. If you make any mistakes, we can always fix them up. But if you feel more comfortable, you can edit summaries that others write. We're pretty laid back. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 10:15, 19 July 2007 (EDT)

Something Else
Peter's Exposed Powers
Hello mate,
Trying to add to Peter's exposed powers, but its formatted bit differently, and I'm an infant to editing wikis. Maybe something you can add?
Just a theory that Peter may have been exposed to the Haitian's powers on the rooftop in 'unexpected'. This may not be the case however if the Haitian knew of and blocked Peter's ability to mimic powers at that point in time, whilst leaving his flight power untouched.
I dunno, you think its something to be added to that section?
Stu
- Hey, Stu. I believe the Haitian's power (which we're calling mental manipulation) is already on Peter's page. Check out Peter#Powers Exposed, and it's listed 5th. In the future, if you want to make changes to the powers which have been exposed to Peter, they're on a template: template:peterexposed, which sounds dirty, but isn't. :) Let me know if you need any more help. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 18:56, 21 July 2007 (EDT)
Interview
- I noticed for the last round of interviews you posted on 9thwonders.com. Did you get a chance to for this round? It might help generate some more good questions. (Admin 10:16, 23 July 2007 (EDT))
- I actually posted on 9thwonders after the interview was completed last time ... Good idea, though--I'll go over there right now and let 'em all know. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 15:27, 23 July 2007 (EDT)
Dehydration
I believe we can use the picture of the dead handcuffed guy as an example picture of Dehydration. His face is showing the results of Dehydration. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 07/24/2007 08:22 (EST)
- Could be, but before we speculate, let's wait to see the power actually be used. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 08:29, 24 July 2007 (EDT)
Nice work
Saw some visitors coming in from here. Nice work. :) (Admin 12:22, 24 July 2007 (EDT))
- Cool! Wasn't expecting that nice little blurb, just the info about Hector Bustamante, and maybe a link to our Season Two spoilers. I'm increasingly impressed with CBR. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 14:43, 24 July 2007 (EDT)
- Very nice work indeed... according to the statistics, it's the first time in a few weeks traffic was up more on Wednesday.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:35, 26 July 2007 (EDT)
- Oh good, I'm glad...It's nice to get some new blood, isn't it? Plus, CBR has served us very well over the past year, I'm glad to give them a little back. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 01:03, 26 July 2007 (EDT)
- Wow...the recent changes don't have much action today, either, so all that traffic seems to be a bunch of page views. Season Two spoilers is at 20,898 hits as of five minutes ago. Pretty impressive! -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 01:06, 26 July 2007 (EDT)
- According to the stats, there were 389,000+ hits, so looks like they saw more than just the spoiler page... that's good news, I hope. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:25, 26 July 2007 (EDT)
- The stats on Wednesday probably are inflated. Someone at Fark tried to directly link to an image here (which gets blocked) so it probably registered a lot of hits that were in fact denied. Tuesday's stats are realistic; many of them came from CBR. Not quite as many visitors from CBR on Wednesday. (Admin 01:46, 26 July 2007 (EDT))
- Any way of telling how many hits that image got on Tuesday and Wednesday so we can get a rough idea of the count without it?--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:11, 26 July 2007 (EDT)
- It skews the "visits" count more than the hits count, but as for the hits count subtract 8-10k and that should be make it closer to reality. So still a pretty active day. (Admin 02:24, 26 July 2007 (EDT))
- Yeah, and if it's only 8-10k for that image then it is still the first time in a few weeks that the hits were up more on Wednesday.--MiamiVolts (talk) 10:49, 26 July 2007 (EDT)

Lizard
- Hey, just curious as to where you found the confirmation for Lizards? Thanks, -- Lost Soul 13:05, 28 July 2007 (EDT)
- NBC Universal Media Village--it lists the airdate as September 24 which is surely a mistake...though NBC has been known to get certain facts incorrect from time to time. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 13:09, 28 July 2007 (EDT)
IR pics
No problem...I hate the way images are so hard to find and keep up with. I just saw what appeared from the IR page, where it kinda stopped without the finale IR pics, and the lead-up pics to the finale, and thought..."hey...those should be there". Wasn't aware of the 8-12 limit on powers page. This wiki is getting really big, and hard to keep up with alot of what's going on. Can't wait until next season gets rolling....did you see the new video clip? I'm sure their are more characters than what I could list, but the scenes change so fast, and the quality so poor that is is tough to be more certain. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 08/1/2007 17:22 (EST)
- It is hard to keep up with images sometimes, especially if you're not aware of the examples pages. Use template:examples to guide yourself through those pages. Another good way to search for pictures is using template:imagenav to browse by character or episode.
I'm really psyched for the new season--I've seen about four versions of that clip, each one slightly better quality than the last. I'm hoping NBC publicizes that clip, just as they did with the ComicCon panel. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 17:29, 1 August 2007 (EDT)
Pages I'd like to see, "Paul. E Sylar"
OK, spent some time researching and going through picture archives and transcripts, and gathered all I could find on this ?alias?. I just made a page for Paul E. Sylar, with all the relevant info I could think of. See what you think about it, and alter and adjust it as you see fit. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 08/2/2007 12:15 (EST)
- I don't think it's accurate to link "Paul E. Sylar" with the other Sylar events that have taken place. Since it was never aired it sounds like they abandoned it so it's not related to the Sylar events we've seen. There's a Trivia entry on the Sylar page noting it and that's as much as we can say about it. (Admin 12:21, 2 August 2007 (EDT))
- Actually, I didnt realize it until just now but we did have an article for Paul E. Sylar at one point in the past, but it was nominated for deletion back then, too. See the talk page for the explanation. (Admin 12:29, 2 August 2007 (EDT))
- Right. Had it ever actually aired, there might be some justification to having an article, or at least a more prominent reference to the guy. But it's never aired, and any article would be purely speculative....and out of place. I believe there's a mention of it at Sylar#Trivia (which I still find a bit odd to have it on the Sylar page, since we have no idea if Paul (who doesn't exist in the world of Heroes) has anything to do with Gabriel Gray (who took his moniker from a watch). I mean, unless Paul E. Sylar (again, who doesn't exist in any canon source) made the watch or also took his name from the watch, then the two have nothing to do with each other--and if they do, it's only peripherally. I appreciate the effort to take care of my to do list, but that one is a relic from a long time ago, when it was really more of a note to myself to add some trivia somewhere. I'll remove it so it's not so confusing. Thanks, though. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 17:56, 2 August 2007 (EDT)

"Peter's smorgasbord of powers used to escape Sylar's rampage"
It's been bugging me for a while how in the "Examples of empathic mimicry" page, in Peter's smorgasbord of powers used to escape Sylar's rampage, the picture of the telekinesis is actually Peter throwing Isaac from Unexpected, not Peter throwing Sylar in .07%? I just checked, and there's a picture that the actual throw of Sylar in the Category:Images from .07% page. Could that be fixed, please? I don't know the coding to do it myself. --Spellingbee 23:11, 2 August 2007 (EDT)

- Is that good or bad? I notice they did include a link to the interview here at the top (though it's not too clear) and it says that the interview came from here, though I would have preferred if they had left the other links within the interview to articles here intact. (Admin 01:22, 7 August 2007 (EDT))
- Earlier this afternoon I asked them to make the link to our site clearer (the comment hasn't been approved yet, so it's not visible). I agree, I have mixed feelings--it's cool they put so much there, but it'd be nice to have our site linked a bit more. Oh well. There's always HeroesARG and Heroes 360 Clues. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 01:28, 7 August 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah, it would be more courteous to make it clear the interview is from here or even to just link to the interview here. That's why we always link to outside interviews rather than copying them (not to mention that it'd probably be a copyright violation to do so). Hopefully they'll make the change. :) (Admin 01:33, 7 August 2007 (EDT))

- Ryan, are you even a Sarmy member? If not we kindly ask you to leave our page alone. We've seen you've edited the about section (removed its founders), and that's what bothers us the most. It's okay for us to edit/improve the words but don't change it too drastic. And yes we have two myspaces (a group and a page). These links are related to the subject and equally important to us. The Sarmy --Starrynight (talk) 16:19, 7 August 2007 (EDT)
- Starrynight, please keep in mind that that Sarmy article is not your page and like any other page here is subject to existing policies and standards and will be edited by anyone, not just members of your group. Please read the disclaimer on every submission here specifically "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, then don't submit it here." (Admin 10:29, 7 August 2007 (EDT))
- I am not a Sarmy member, but that does not exclude me from editing a page. If it is on this website, it is open to edits by all people, not just people who belong to the group--otherwise that would be a very elitist position for us to take on who edits and who does not. I removed the founders because the page should focus on reporting the group's purpose, and does not need a detailed history of every person involved in its inception. I changed some of the headings so they were more standard and fit with the look of the rest of the pages on the wiki. I trimmed the external links because there were eight of them, which is more than almost any other article. If the second MySpace page is crucial, then by all means add it back in--I just believe it to be a bit excessive.
- Thank you for your respons and for editing the layout. We don't claim the page as our own. Our purpose? Informing (future) members by providing a 'history' as accurate as possible. Otherwise we wouldn't mention three founders. Who says we have only three slogans? We're glad you like our modified heroes wiki logo. We'll leave the page as it is. Kind regards. The Sarmy --Starrynight (talk) 17:48, 7 August 2007 (EDT)

- I'm curious, did you have a previous dialogue with his assistant in order to get some information for the article originally, or did the assistant just email you out of the blue? (Admin 00:43, 11 August 2007 (EDT))

Badower blurbs
Thanks for finishing up those Badower art pages, Bob. I got behind on them during the last week of the season, and then they just loomed and I never got them finished. Thanks for filling in all the missing comments, they look great. Incidentally, did you see Jason's pics of me he posted during his Visit to America journal? His friend Simbo was soaked, and is wearing a Heroes Wiki tshirt. We had a great lunch in the City. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 17:02, 12 August 2007 (EDT)
- Woo! Nice action shot of the Heroes Wiki t-shirt. Glad it came in handy. :) I have a ton of them from my aborted trip to Comic-Con so I'll be sending a few out soon to people who've already requested them. (Admin 17:06, 12 August 2007 (EDT))
- No prob. Yeah, I saw the picture, and I take it Simbo is the guy who made "the face" as Jason calls it. Very cool. Hope it was a good trip.--Bob 17:33, 12 August 2007 (EDT)
- I grew up 15 minutes from the George Washington Bridge, so I stayed with my parents--it's a trip we make about once a month. Yes, it was tons of fun, and the rain was torrential. No kidding, Jason was soaked up to the top of his thighs. Poor Simbo was only wearing a tank top, so we gave him the Heroes Wiki shirt to wear. The three of them and my wife and I had a great time--we're all such big geeks, and our sides were seriously splitting from laughing so much. Incidentally, Jas gave me a poster-size print of the last page of The Death of Hana Gitelman, Part 2, and 4 smaller prints of original drawings he did of Peter, Sylar, Noah, and Claire. They rock. I would've scanned them, but he said he's going to post images of them on his blog, so I'm just waiting for him. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 20:29, 12 August 2007 (EDT)
Question interview
Hi Ryan,
I was afraid to ask you this because I don't want you to think I am spamming you or anything. But I read the interview you had with Jason La Padura the other day .. you had some great questions there, about castings and stuff like that, not really the boring standard questions other reporters ask. But Jason seemed very nice. But I was searching the web to see if there are any open casting calls for the upcoming Heroes show Heroes: Origins but I didn't find any information. But then I remembered Jason was involved with castings thinking he would know more.
Having said that my question to you was. Did you and Jason stayed in contact after the interview? Because I was wondering if he mentioned something about upcoming casting calls for Origins and possible locations.. something like that anyway. I've been thinking about auditioning for the show. But I didn't really know where to look. And then I went to check the latest fan-added powers here on Heroeswiki and somehow winded up at the interview-page. I figured maybe you know more.
Let me know, whatever you want to do if you don't feel like answering me ;) it's okay
Yoeri.. DarthYotho 13:25, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
- I'm glad you enjoyed the interview. Jason's a great guy and was very gracious to answer some questions for me. We've kept in touch very peripherally since the interview. He is still casting for Heroes, and will be casting for Origins at a later date. I don't feel comfortable giving out his email address, but you can contact his office at the mailing address that's listed on the web: La Padura/Hart Casting, 4705 Laurel Canyon Blvd., Ste. 301, Valley Village, CA 91607. Since Keri Owens is the main lead for Heroes casting, I would put your correspondence to her attention. Good luck, and let us know how it goes! -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 13:42, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
- Hi again, Thank you for responding so quickly, and for anwsering my question. Some people discredit a message like I sended to you. I really appreciate it ! I totaly understand that you simply can't give e-mails to a stranger. I've been in situations like that when people ask me how I do special effects on Youtube, you can't just lay stuff like that around. I appreciate you giving me the addres, but the thing I've been strugling with for castings is that I'm from another country (The Netherlands). And first I always thought it was weird for a outsider to even talk about auditioning for an international show. But I am just so passionate about doing it and trying out, you know. And thank you for trying to put my correspondence to Keri Owens attention, if I read that part right, it means a lot. If there is anything you know about the whole process on how they cast, even the littlest things on how they work could help me. You can contact me (if you have the time) at my e-mail, it's yoerilumios@hotmail.com -- DarthYotho 14:06, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
- Quick clarification. When I said "I would put your correspondence to her attention", I meant "if I were you". In other words, I'm not contacting La Padura/Hart Casting for you. You'll have to send them your resume and headshot yourself. I just want to make sure I'm not miscommunicating with you. Good luck in your attempts to get on the show! -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 14:13, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
- I knew I mis read that part, no biggies ;) I was just about to edit it, but I saw you already commented ;). But do you know if La Padura/Hart Casting also reply to international auditioners and allow videocastings. You know things like that.
- I would imagine they would respond to international auditioners, though I can't be positive. It doesn't hurt to try, though, right? -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 14:22, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
- Okay, but where'd you get the address ? Do they have a website with e-mail. Because sending a letter takes a lot of time doesn't it. They must have a e-mail for business. or is that the e-mail you said you wouldn't give ? -- DarthYotho 14:32, 13 August 2007 (EDT)

Jason's info is here (if you subscribe), but I don't think it lists his e-mail and he doesn't have a website as far as I know. If you are serious about getting into the USA television/film market, you might want to consider registering with IMDb Pro, Jugita and/or contacting a talent agent that can register you with the different casting agencies in Hollywood. For the Netherlands, a simple search turned up JV Entertainment in LA (which works with European actors), and Thea Meulenberg Casting in Amsterdam. From what I grasped from the interview, most of what Jason La Padura's casting agency does is search through their electronic database of registered actors for parts that are going to be needed on the show. An unsolicited letter may or may not work, but I thought I would point you to the more traditional methods as well. :) Good luck!--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:51, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
