Anthony Hemingway is a director for Heroes.
About
Hemingway has worked as a director on a number of television series like The Wire, CSI: New York, ER, Battlestar Galactica and True Blood, among others.
Before becoming a director he worked extensively as an assistant director in television and film. For The Wire he served as the first assistant director on several episodes in the first season<ref name="The Wire season 1 crew">Template:Cite web</ref> and throughout the second and third season.<ref name="The Wire season 2 crew">Template:Cite web</ref><ref name="The Wire season 3 crew">Template:Cite web</ref> He returned in 2006 as a director for the seventh episode of the fourth season "Unto Others".<ref name = "E44">Template:Cite episode</ref><ref name = "EG44">Template:Cite web</ref><ref name="The Wire season 4 crew">Template:Cite web</ref> Show runner David Simon said that Hemingway's directing debut proved what they already new "that it was time." The experience led to directing work on several other series for Hemingway.<ref name="Jim King David Simon interview 3">Template:Cite web Page 5</ref>
He often works with people he has collaborated with in the past. Hemingway began working in the industry on Tom Fontana's HBO prison drama Oz as an assistant director. He later worked with Fontana on The Jury. He was the first assistant director on the film Freedomland in 2006 which was written by The Wire writer Richard Price and featured several cast members from that show alongside Samuel L. Jackson. He first worked with Jackson as assistant director on the 2002 film Changing Lanes. He first worked with director/producer Joe Chappelle on the 2000 film Takedown and has since collaborated with him on The Wire and CSI: NY.
On Heroes Hemingway is again directing The Wire star Jamie Hector, this time guest starring as Knox.
