When Elle turned six years old, her powers manifested for the first time. Though she accidentally burned her grandmother's home to the ground, Helen Bishop attempted to conceal her granddaughter's power. By the time she turned eight, Elle's powers had become too dangerous for her grandmother to handle, and Mr. Bishop was notified. Shortly afterwards, Elle was taken into the custody of the Company.
Elle spent most of the next eight years of her life undergoing extensive testing, in order to determine the nature of her abilities and how best to control them. This prolonged experimentation had adverse effects on Elle's mental stability (see psychological profile). [Sentence Omitted: Classified]

After sufficient maturation and a series of preparatory missions conducted under supervision, Elle was given agent status and tasked with conducting surveillance upon fellow Agent Noah Bennet's daughter Claire. This first mission and a string of subsequent missions she participated in were, under the stringent regulation of her father, largely considered failures. Nevertheless Elle's considerable power and relaxed moral values have earned her a reputation as an agent of value for 'heavy' jobs, and thus Elle remains one of the Company's premier agents.
The subject has also exhibited a predilection towards obsessive attachment towards certain other individuals - most notably her father, but a number of captives held at Hartsdale have been the focus of this deadly attention as well, most of whom have been killed. During the subject's recent trip to Primatech Paper in Odessa, TX, she developed another such attachment towards one of the prisoners there, Wesley Barclay (see case file B0314). Following an incident which almost resulted in the loss of B0314 and an even more highly valued subject, she was ordered to return to Hartsdale immediately.
