Hiro, frustrated with Ando for wanting to cheat at gambling, says that using powers for personal gain is "the Dark Side". In Star Wars, the Dark Side of the Force is tapped by evil individuals, giving them power to profit, cheat, and destroy.

Better Halves

After learning that a future version of himself carries a sword, Hiro excitedly practices brandishing a sword in a style similar to Luke Skywalker's first foray with a lightsaber.

How to Stop an Exploding Man

Ando, attempting to rouse Hiro's courage, reminds him of his heroes from varied stories, including those from Star Wars.

Later, at Kirby Plaza, Sylar telekinetically chokes Peter in much the same way that Darth Vader would "grab" his subordinates.

  • In one of Hiro's blog entries, Hiro wonders if he's a Jedi or could use a Jedi mind trick on the Tokyo subway train conductor, making the train late.
  • In a blog entry from the Nevada desert, Hiro checks in, calling, "Uncle Owen? Aunt Beru?" Owen and Beru are the names of Luke Skywalker's aunt and uncle who lived in the desert.
