Mark was born in Glasgow, UK, and lived there until he was 18 at which time he moved to America. Mark discovered his ability when he was 15 years old. After loosing his glasses, he unintentionally created an exact copy of them. This lead to his experimenting with his ability, mainly using it to create masses of money. When he was 17 he travelled to America on a school trip. While he was there, he was bag and tagged by The Company, who released him on the same day. He returned to Glasgow with his fellow classmates with no knowledge of his abduction. His trip had a lasting impact on him, and he decided to move to the US to learn more about his ability from a "Chandra Suresh". While here he used his ability to provide money to pay for shelter and food.
