Idea for this page

I like the idea for this page, especially in light of Chuck Kim's recent EW interview about the upcoming five-month story arc we will see in the graphic novels. However, I would call the page "Company partnerships". -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:24, 15 April 2008 (EDT)

  • It does sound like a good idea; and I agree about "Company partnerships" as the theme's name. However, I still think it should be in the user's namespace until it's ready.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:27, 15 April 2008 (EDT)
    • Why not make it a stub? We have a ton of articles in the mainspace that are not complete. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:39, 15 April 2008 (EDT)
    • Please don't delete this page I made it. I know it is not finished but is there realy enythinh missing?Do we have eny more info then is on it already? yer we need some pics and stuff and probs a template --Rbfskywalker 17:14, 15 April 2008 (EDT)
      • Barring some surge of hatred from the community, I don't have any intention of deleting the page. And even in that case, I would just move it to the user namespace. It's a good idea for a page and is becoming increasingly more important to keep track of partnerships. I only wish I had thought of it first! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:02, 15 April 2008 (EDT)
  • Change name to list of company field partnerships?--Rbfskywalker 16:07, 16 April 2008 (EDT)

Enyone got eny pics of Mohinder and his partners? Thanks --Rbfskywalker 11:30, 16 April 2008 (EDT)

The two images of Noah and the Haitian are both after they ended their employment under the Company. Should we instead put in images of when they actually worked for the organization?--Paronine 18:09, 15 April 2008 (EDT) Good point, done :) --Rbfskywalker 18:22, 15 April 2008 (EDT)

I don't think this page really needs a section for each episode--that's really what the article about the Company is for. I think it'd be neat to see this page broken into sections that list each partnership, and then have a short narrative about each partnership. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:04, 15 April 2008 (EDT)

  • That makes even more sense. --DocM 21:05, 15 April 2008 (EDT)

Other partnerships

Other Company partnerships to consider adding: Noah Bennet and Candice Willmer, Kaito Nakamura and Victoria Pratt, Daniel Linderman and Arthur Petrelli, Noah Bennet and Eden McCain, Noah Bennet and Hana Gitelman, Hank and Lisa.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:47, 16 April 2008 (EDT)

  • I can se where uoi are comnig from:

I could go with as say part-time partners;
Noah Bennet and Eden McCain
But Icouldn't go for;
Hank and Lisa
sientists who pose as perents
Noah Bennet and Candice Willmer
Noah is not working for the company when they are together
Noah Bennet and Hana Gitelman
He is just training her
Daniel Linderman and Arthur Petrelli
Friends, in Vietnam, not in the Company working together
Kaito Nakamura and Victoria Pratt
Nefo no, he is just her boss. --Rbfskywalker 16:07, 16 April 2008 (EDT)

  • I don't know if Hank and Lisa were partners, but they were definitely paired together; there's no evidence Lisa is a scientist. Noah and Candice definitely did work together--they went to talk to Isaac together, and Candice is actually Noah's last partner. I agree that the other groups were not partnerships. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:33, 16 April 2008 (EDT)
    • Ivan and Noah were partners. It was kind of a threesome with Maarten, I guess. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:37, 16 April 2008 (EDT)
      • I think they where just training him--Rbfskywalker 03:11, 17 April 2008 (EDT)
        • Does training not count as a partnership? Who's to say that other partnerships weren't also "just training" partnerships? I would say that we should note the nature of the partnership in the description, but that it's not up to us to decide what constitutes a partnership and what doesn't. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:43, 17 April 2008 (EDT)
          • I think maybe we can infer from the storyline that being a trainee is not the same as being a partner. In Golden Handshake, P4, Claude returns to Primatech and is upset to find out that his "trainee" Noah is now his official partner. And as mentioned for this case, Team Building Exercise, Noah specifically mentions that it's his first bag-and-tag and he's there on a "training exercise [just] to take notes".--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:17, 14 June 2008 (EDT)
    • What about The Haitian and Elle Bishop? Were they not partners before he got sick and high-tailed it outta there again?--Tim Thomason 23:11, 16 April 2008 (EDT)
      • Let's see: the Haitian erased Elle's memory sometime around October 2006 (Elle's First Assignment), then the two pair up to go after Peter and Adam in March 2007 (Four Months Later...). Odd. But yes, they were definitely paired up on a mission. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:49, 16 April 2008 (EDT)
        • They both have powers though :S--Rbfskywalker 03:11, 17 April 2008 (EDT)
          • There's nothing that says that two people with powers can't be partners. It might not be the "usual" way of doing things at the Company, but if they're put together, I would think it doesn't matter who's evolved and who's not. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:43, 17 April 2008 (EDT)

Other partnerships (II)

Ok, added Noah and Candice, though they could really use a better joint photo. Others to be added:
___The Haitian and Eden McCain (Image:Sylar haitian eden.jpg; after April 2006 - October 11, 2006)
___The Haitian and Elle Bishop (needs image; February 2007 - prior to March 19, 2007); Adam and Peter's escape was in February 2007, not March 2007

Eden took orders from Noah but I don't think Noah and Eden went on any missions together; so it's a similar situation to Noah and Hana...However, the Haitian is a different story so I listed him above. He becomes Eden's partner sometime after her capture in April 2006, and the partnership ends with her suicide on Oct. 11, 2006.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:17, 14 June 2008 (EDT)

This article really needs to be reworked, especially since the majority of the graphic novels from now until the start of Season Three will focus on different partnerships. I have some ideas for what the direction of the page should look like, but I wanted to solicit the ideas of others before I say anything. What does everybody else think this page needs? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:55, 28 May 2008 (EDT)

  • I am thinking of two additions:
  1. a horizontal TOC with links just to each partnership since the list is beginning to grow long.
  2. a template-style infobox for each partnership that would have entries for "image" (an image showing both partners), "timespan", "human", "evolved", and "ability".--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:51, 28 May 2008 (EDT)
    • Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking. I think we need to lose the histories, much of the whitespace, and the tons and tons of pictures. This should be a list page, so info should be minimal. A picture is fine, but we don't need every instance of the partnership sharing a frame. KISS. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:31, 28 May 2008 (EDT)
      • Actually, I would keep the histories ("mission listings" is what I would prefer to call them) and move them to an expandable table. Knowing who went on what mission is handy, imho. The table could even be moved to the bag and tag article for simplicity, but a link to the appropriate section should remain. However, I totally agree about removing the gallery for each partnership.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:38, 28 May 2008 (EDT)
        • No, I don't mind the list of missions. It's the narratives that bug me. Not every partnership has one--it's the three or four sentences that are right under the section headings. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:53, 28 May 2008 (EDT)
          • The narratives are sometimes helpful for partnerships whose timespan is not totally known, but I agree they're not necessary.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:07, 28 May 2008 (EDT)

Speaking of Bag and tags and missions and such, ChrisYu has this going (though not up to date right now), which is kinda similar to this over at Lostpedia. Employing something like those might work here and/or on Bag and tag. --SacValleyDweller (talk) 02:56, 29 May 2008 (EDT)

  • I really like that idea I must say, I think something like that (an updated version) would be great for this page, with maybe a link from the Bag and tag page to let people know that there is a list of bag and tags here. (Friskymuffin - (talk) 04:21, 29 May 2008 (EDT))
    • Yeah, I think that layout is better than what we have right now. Of course, the colors would be changed and there are a few other minor changes that would need to be made so it matches Heroes Wiki's style, but I think a simple box of information/stats and a picture would suffice. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:03, 29 May 2008 (EDT)

Thompson, Jr. and Penny Logan

I think this partnership should be removed or at least clarified. They were on assignment together, but Elle was also with them, and who knows whom else was on that assignment. Also, the timespan is missing for it at the top of the page.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:07, 28 May 2008 (EDT)

  • of course! and by the way... there is no "one of them" in that partnership either, i think each of them had their own partner --cookie 13:06, 3 June 2008 (EDT)

The page so far...

This page looks good. I like the single pic, and I think the pared down information is spot on. Does the TOC automatically update? Very cool. I'm not digging the colors at all. I know it's more boring, but I'd rather see wikitables, or something more along the lines of the look of list of abilities. The style of the boxes, though nice, don't match our style at Heroes Wiki. That's just my gut feeling. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:39, 12 June 2008 (EDT)

  • I think I might be able to keep the colors as a background and format it like the list of abilities article. Would that be okay?--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:51, 12 June 2008 (EDT)
    • Personally I prefer the gray...but if you get it working, let me know, and I'd love to take a look. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:40, 13 June 2008 (EDT)
      • Ok, check again.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:30, 13 June 2008 (EDT)
        • To be honest, I really don't like the colors. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:15, 13 June 2008 (EDT)
          • I'm open to using other colors, but I'd like to keep the active teams being a different color. Do you have a suggestion other than all gray? Can you clarify what you want? Is it the colors themselves, or just that you don't like any color other than white/gray underneath the text? In that case we could limit the background to being just behind the images.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:23, 13 June 2008 (EDT)
            • Personally (and I keep saying that because I don't want to sound like a dictator) I'd rather keep the shades of gray, like the list of abilities. If we want to denote partnerships that are still together, I'd rather have some text to denote that, otherwise it seems like a really odd criteria to make such a drastic change as a color code.

Before we talk about how to denote partnerships' status, may I suggest a few other minor changes to the general layout? I'd rather see the dates on a new line than next to the names--it looks like that's when the people died, and it's not very clear what those dates are, especially when it says "unknown". Then, I think it would be logical to have a line that says something like "Status: Active" or "Status: Disbanded" or something...though I think it's kind of redundant since the dates tell us what we need. (Plus, updating statuses means a lot more maintenance, which will be a total bear when S2 starts up again.) And one last change I'd make: the lines that say "Human(s)" etc. should say "Human" if there's only one person, and "Humans" if there are two or more. The "(s)" is good for written forms, but not needed for templates like these since we have the ability to detect more than one person in the field.

Golly, I didn't mean to clog up the talk page with my ramblings! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:26, 13 June 2008 (EDT)

              • The color code is currently set automatically to active if "end" is not set or if it's set to "present". I can move the colors to the border so it's not too drastic a change, but I think a color code is okay to distinguish active/non-active partnerships, similar to how we fade deceased characters. You can also tell which are active/non-active from the dates but that doesn't help much for ease of use when scanning the ever-growing list. As you said, a separate line for status is redundant and doesn't serve any purpose. The other changes you recommend I agree with.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:25, 14 June 2008 (EDT)
                • Ooh, the colors look great now! I don't mind something subtle like it is now, but having the entire field one color was overkill. Nice changes! I'm going to add what the colors mean because it's not clear to the casual reader. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:51, 14 June 2008 (EDT)

Missions vs. targets

Ok, cool. Glad you like the changes. Regarding using the term "mission" vs. "target", I wonder if target is appropriate for when agents are assigned to guard or protect someone. For instance, would it be correct to say that once Bob learned that Maury Parkman was likely out to get him, Mohinder and Niki were assigned to protect him? I'm not sure we can confirm that; but if we could, I think it'd be a little out of place to say Miscellaneous target: protect Bob Bishop... might we just remove the "target" and "mission" words altogether?--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:22, 14 June 2008 (EDT)

  • For now, I've changed it to be "Other missions:" instead of "Miscellaneous target:".--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:45, 14 June 2008 (EDT)
    • Perfect. It just sounded weird to say that West Rosen was a mission when he was really a target. I think "Other missions" works perfectly for miscellany. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:06, 14 June 2008 (EDT)

Thompson, Penny, and Elle

Of course, for this unique partnership, we could always use this image! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:41, 13 June 2008 (EDT)

  • Heh. Nice image merge, there, but I think it would be better to stick with actual images.--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:45, 13 June 2008 (EDT)

Noah and Candice

Take your pick. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:14, 14 June 2008 (EDT)

  • Thanks, I just swapped in the closeup version.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:45, 14 June 2008 (EDT)
  • Regarding the mission with Isaac, didn't Candice tell Bennet before they left to see him that it looked like Isaac had gotten himself into some trouble that they needed to clean up? That's why I listed it as "protect Isaac Mendez". I don't think Candice and Bennet came there to "encourage him to paint".--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:13, 14 June 2008 (EDT)
    • Before they leave, Candice says, "Your painter friend from New York tried to reach you. I chatted with him for you. Apparently, he's got himself a dead girlfriend. Nice guy." At Isaac's apartment, Isaac implores Bennet, "Take me with you." Bennet: "That's not our assignment." Isaac: I don't know what to do." Bennet: "Of course you do. You keep painting." I don't think they do much protecting--Candice does some teasing and Bennet promises a crew will "clean up this mess", but Bennet tells him to paint, which he does. Is there something I'm overlooking? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:21, 14 June 2008 (EDT)
      • Huh. I guess I was looking at it the wrong way. I was thinking the purpose for them going there was to get him out of the jam he had gotten himself in so he could continue to paint for the Company, and that them leaving him there was the Company's idea of cost-reduction...anyways, nice grabs with the images.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:39, 14 June 2008 (EDT)

New look

I like it, but can we have in in chronological order again?, its not letting by sgin for some reason, skywalkerrbf

  • I wouldn't mind that... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:25, 15 June 2008 (EDT)
    • I agree, I think putting it in chronological order makes it much easier to follow. -- Friskymuffin - (talk) 09:33, 15 June 2008 (EDT)

New pitures

for Mohinder Suresh and Niki Sanders, The Haitian and Eden McCain? I duno if there are eny but htere are then i think we might need them. skywalkerrbf

Why does the article have a chart and then the partnerships again with the same info?--Citizen 12:14, 24 June 2008 (EDT)

  • The table is a dynamic TOC with links to the boxes below. It doesn't have all of the info, just the names and beginning/ending dates. The other info. such as missions goes in the boxes below. I can trim out the dates from the TOC if we don't want them, but I think they're nice to have.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:21, 24 June 2008 (EDT)

More partnerships?

Wouldn't Agent 1 and Agent 2, as well as Hank and Lisa deserve mentioning, if the Newburry agents do? Pierre 18:17, 6 August 2008 (EDT)

  • Yeah, Agents 1 and 2 should be added. Hank and Lisa were really more like Primatech staff than partners.--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:41, 6 August 2008 (EDT)

Season 3

HRG and Elle (Villains), Meredith and Thompson Sr. (Villains) and HRG and Meredith! -- FlamingTomDude

No green

None of these partnerships actually exist anymore, mostly because the Company does not exist anymore. There's no green box on the page for existing partnerships, only blue for ones who don't. So is there much point in having the message at the top about what means what? Or should it be kept just in case? Super-Hiro

I don't read the iStory, but I've read on Lauren's notes that her partner was Mulligan. It should be added? --TanderixUTCR 15:13 (Italy) 02 February 2010

Sort of partnerships in season 4

Note that there were some "one of us, one of them" going on in season 4. Unofficaly of course. Peter and Noah, Tracy and Noah even Claire and Noah (they worked together to stop the Carnival) and maybe Edgar and Noah since they worked together against the Carnival at the end. Note though, that Noah brought Peter on as the "one of them" to help him deal with the whole compass thing (and in a way the Carnival too) and at the end, the two sort of partnered up again to finish the job of dealing with Samuel. They were even standing together after the fight too.--WarGrowlmon18 23:50, 24 June 2010 (EDT)

Renautas partnerships

I think Renautus's partnerships should be in a separate article (they were not all evo and non-evo). I recall Noah Bennet and Caspar, Harris and Matt Parkman, and Francis Culp and Taylor Kravid so far...--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:04, 24 November 2015 (EST)
