Her ability links to Empathic mimicry. Is it the same ability? I don't think so, should it not be a separate ability, in which case we have to fix the redirect from empathy. --mc_hammark 03:40, 22 September 2009 (EDT)

  • I don't think her ability is empathy. See here for what I have created.--Catalyst · Talk · HL 07:35, 22 September 2009 (EDT)
    • I think her ability is straight up clairvoyance, and that the tattoos are of Samuel's doing. -Vampirate68 | Talk | Contribs | 16:34, 22 September 2009 (EDT)

Where did the name empathy come from? To me, it seems like the paint the future ability, except the canvas is someone's skin. Kimera757 19:22, 22 September 2009 (EDT)

It came from some interviews. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 19:32, 22 September 2009 (EDT)

I really think it's clairvoyance, because after Samuel made a tattoo on Edgar, it was clear that it wasn't her who made the tattoos move - they moved by themselves... Being a clairvoyant like Molly, for instants, she could think of the person, and manifest their face through the tattoos. It's just my opinion really... -- Meteoritu =D- 23:28 September 22.

Ok I just read the Stolen Fate graphic novel and it shows Lydia predicting stuff... So I thought she was a precog, but then I thought "how could she have known WHO had the compass? That's not precognition..." so now I'm thinking, either it's Precognition, either it's Clairvoyance, or - Precognition + Clairvoyance = Empathy... What do you guys think? Once again I hence the fact that her tattoos moving are not a side effect from her ability; that was Samuel's doing. Meteoritu =D-

No need for two sections. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 19:32, 22 September 2009 (EDT)

But in Stolen Fate, she saw baby Claire on fire, an event that happened in 1991. Ohhhhh, Lydia's power makes my brain hurt...--Gibbeynator 21:55, 27 September 2009 (EDT)

  • Who says that it was baby Claire? I took it to be Lydia and Edgar's future baby. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:50, 27 September 2009 (EDT)
    • The fire is pretty much what sold it for me as being baby Claire --Gibbeynator 22:54, 27 September 2009 (EDT)
  • Isn't the baby on fire supposed to be Amanda? She gave her up as a baby and she was having issues with her ability, which concerns fire. That's what I immediately thought of anyway.--PJDEP 23:25, 11 November 2009 (EST)
  • Also, at the end of Acceptance, when Noah appears on Lydia's back, Samuel says something like "Why are you showing me him?" and Lydia says "I show you what you need to see". That scene makes it seems like Lydia, either consciously or through her power, manipulates her tattoos, not Samuel.--PJDEP 23:30, 11 November 2009 (EST)

Her Daughter

I'm really glad it turned out that Amanda was born when Lydia was a teenager. When I found out she had a daughter I was thinking that perhaps Samuel was the father, having "forced" himself upon her. That would also give a reason as to why both Lydia and Edgar seem to hate Samuel. Josh KorolenkoUTChronicles

She don't is supposed to have the same name of his daughter? and his sister?

  • It's possible that Strazzulla is Carol's married name, and that Amanda took the name when Carol took her in. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:36, 18 October 2009 (EDT)

Lydia's caravan

Lydia does have her own caravan with a good picture of it, should we make a page for it? --Yoshi n1 17:42, 11 November 2009 (EST)

Can't we find a better picture for her?

I mean, the one we use now is pretty much just a shot of Dawn isn't it? Surely could we not use a screencap? There has to be a decent one by now.--- (Evil Maldini)--- November 30th 2009, 16:35 GMT.

  • I agree, the quality of this picture isn't that good and there has to be a better one.-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 11:36, 30 November 2009 (EST)
  • Perhaps this one?--- (Evil Maldini)--- November 30th 2009, 17:44 GMT.
    • I add it, we will see if they like it :)-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 13:14, 30 November 2009 (EST)
      • We should take that picture, it's much better.-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 13:19, 30 November 2009 (EST)
        • I like it. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 13:22, 30 November 2009 (EST)
          • I like it, but I think it would be much better if we can get the picture zoomed out slightly so that the entire outline of her head is in the shot. - Jenx222 | U / T / C 13:26, 30 November 2009 (EST)
            • Where's the picture from? (you made it yourself or from the web)-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 13:34, 30 November 2009 (EST)
              • Should we just change it? everybody seems to agree and its MUCH better-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 13:49, 30 November 2009 (EST)
                • I could zoom it out for you... --- (Evil Maldini)--- November 30th 2009, 18:56 GMT.
                  • If you wouldn't mind, it's just so we can see her entire head in the shot. If that's done then I'm sure it will be fine to use as the main image. - Jenx222 | U / T / C 13:58, 30 November 2009 (EST)
                    • Done. Here. (Evil Maldini)--- November 30th 2009, 19:05 GMT.
                      • It's better but it isn't the right size.-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 14:06, 30 November 2009 (EST)
                        • It looks the same, just a little stretched, lol, what's the link for the original image? - Jenx222 | U / T / C 14:07, 30 November 2009 (EST)
                          • Evilmaldini, just upload the original image with the original size and Jenx will fix it (atleast i think lol) -- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 14:10, 30 November 2009 (EST)
                            • Oh, for some reason I wasn't seeing the new image, just the old one stretched, lol, Looks better - Jenx222 | U / T / C 14:13, 30 November 2009 (EST)
  • Oh, and I'm not sure it matters, but if it does, that image is taken from the episode Ink. (Evil Maldini)--- November 30th 2009, 19:23 GMT.
    • It matters sort of, i will ad it to the describtion of the image now :)-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 14:25, 30 November 2009 (EST)
      • This is a good picture but we should really be able to see the outline of her entire head, we should leave it as it is for now - Jenx222 | U / T / C 14:49, 30 November 2009 (EST)

For more info on the image: Image_talk:Dawn_oliveri_lydia_season_4.jpg i like the new image too, but it ain't a promo. -- Futurepeter ( U - T - C) 14:16, 1 December 2009 (EST)

  • Until we do that should suffice. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 14:21, 1 December 2009 (EST)
    • I scoured the web for the screenshots and could only find up to Shadowboxing. There might be some decent ones from Brother's Keeper or The Fifth Stage when they surface, but from the ones I could find that was the only one which showed her clearly without Samuel's shoulder or something like that in it. I agree it isn't perfect, but at least it says "Lydia" and not "a random shot of Dawn Olivieri". I'm sure a promo will be along soon.--Evil Maldini 14:34, 1 December 2009 (EST)

Fortune teller in iStory

So Lydia is a fortune teller, and uses her empathy to tell others their destiny. Now let's go back to Stolen Fate. The previous fortune teller said she tells her visitors what they want to hear. She said that Lydia's power polluted her crystal. And her phrase "that wasn't my power, girl, it was yours" makes me think she and Lydia have the same ability - empathy. Green.gif AltesUTC CH 04:28, 17 December 2009 (EST)

  • Think the first fortune teller's ability was Shape shifting or illusion. In Stolen Fate we can clearly see that she first looks like a zombie or a very old and ugly woman, and later she turns out to be just a normal woman. This clear change indicates some sort of appeareance alteration ability. The fact of lying to others pretending to read fortunes has nothing to do with her possesing that ability, Edgar was a knive thrower because it was his natural human talent, not his evolved human ability. I'm glad Lydia is the new fortune teller ;)--Ritamiller 11:46, 17 December 2009 (EST)

Lydia's death

Lydia is another line of the endless main/reoccurring female evolved humans who die needlessly to advance the story. Just like Eden, Niki, Elle, Daphne to name a few. Does anyone notice a very annoying trend? --User:Blood69 08:09, 31 December 2009 (AEST)

  • Well it sure isn't good for the storyline, Lydia, Eden, Elle and Daphne where great (not a big fan of Niki).-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 16:11, 30 January 2010 (EST)
    • I loved all the women who needlessly (in my opinion) died. I don't think it's right that all these women keep dying once the audience begins to delve deeper into who they are and develop a genuine like for them. How many men have died? The ratio of men dying to women has to be at least 1:4 --Skullman1392 16:59, 30 January 2010 (EST)
      • I would not call Lydia's death needless, though I share your disdain for it when it does occur (I'd accept all your list except Eden). Lydia was a geinuine threat to Samuel- the other carnies were beginning to listen to her and not to him, and he was in danger of losing his family. By setting her up as he did, he removes a leadership challenge and gets all the carnies back on side by blaming Noah. Better dead in a certain sense then simply written out and never heard from again- Charlie (until this season, notably), Claude, West, Yaeko, Caitlin, Maya...Swm 10:53, 5 February 2010 (EST)
        • Yeah that's true, her death was one that I can totally see why it happened. But a lot of the others were really unnecessary. And the one thing that makes me the most mad is characters who are writen out with absolutely no closure. It drives me nuts. --Skullman1392 20:08, 5 February 2010 (EST)

What the hell happened to the image? This one is so out of focus and just, well... terrible, that it makes my damn eyes bleed. Why did we change?--PJDEP - Need further explanation? 01:04, 11 February 2010 (EST) Yeah, that's ... not the best.

The Wall

Does anyone want to do her character update for The Wall?--Boycool42 16:12, 21 February 2010 (EST)

Marx bros. reference?

Thought about this Lydia after watching Groucho Marx sing about another woman named Lydia. Trivia worthy? --SacValleyDweller (talk) 01:46, 19 April 2010 (EDT)
