Talk:Sparrow Redhouse

Awesome name. Heroe(talk) 21:31, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

Yeah, I like it too. She (he?) is Native American I'd expect. --Mercury McKinnon 22:56, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
Further, the presence of a strong new female hero/character in following seasons has been hinted by creators in a couple of places. I wouldn't be surprised if Sparrow Redhouse will turn out to be that character and another hit with the fans. --Mercury McKinnon 23:08, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

Sparrow in GN

I hate to be the wet blanket here, but the information to from String Theory and in the infobox needs to be reworded to allow for the possibility that the "Sparrow" Hiro rescues isn't Sparrow Redhouse. Yes, she's an evolved human named Sparrow, which almost certainly puts her in a class of one, but again, obvious is not the same as confirmed. I think it's fine that the info goes here, but we need to not state what we don't know, no matter how obvious it is, as if it were fact.--Hardvice (talk) 14:06, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

Nope, you're not being a wet blanket. Certainty should never be presented where there is none, that is non-negotiable. --Mercury McKinnon 07:38, 25 April 2007 (EDT)*
    • There is no speculation that the Future Sparrow from String Theory is Sparrow Redhouse, and not another Sparrow. She is confirmed to be Sparrow Redhouse in CBR interview 1x21 by writers Aaron and Joe. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 05/12/2009 09:43 (EST)

Future Sparrow?

So wouldn't Sparrow in the GN actually be "Future Sparrow"? In the cases of other "future" characters, the prevailing practice in the Wiki was to separate the info (character infobox, episodic histories, etc.) It's probably acceptable to keep both in a single article in the meantime, but I'd like to make a few modifications to make the treatment more consistent with other "future" characters' articles. --Mercury McKinnon 21:49, 7 May 2007 (EDT)

  • That makes it really confusing. Sparrow has only been a name on a list, and we really don't know anything about a "Present Sparrow". As far as I can tell, she's only a future character up to this point. We have a picture of her in the future and the only history we know of her is from the future. We know nothing about her in the present other than her location. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:40, 7 May 2007 (EDT)

General Info

In the abilities section, shouldn't we just put unknown, because it's confirmed that she has one by the fact that she's on the list.

  • There are quite a few people from the list (and other places) for whom we don't know their ability. An empty section doesn't serve any purpose. That information is included in the infobox. It says "Known Ability: None" because we don't know her ability...yet she's categorized as an evolved human. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:51, 11 December 2007 (EST)
    • Why can't we just remove the "Known Ability" from her, and similar list characters sidebars? It may relieve the people not fully getting the "known ability" thing.--Tim Thomason 18:58, 11 December 2007 (EST)
      • What would you suggest instead? Her ability is unknown, hence "Known Ability: None". -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:30, 11 December 2007 (EST)
        • I was just wondering why we don't remove the option from the sidebar.--Tim Thomason 19:53, 11 December 2007 (EST)
          • That wouldn't be standard--every other character has something listed for their ability. Plus, there's nothing wrong with it--her ability is unknown, so she has no known ability. But I agree it's clunky, I just can't figure out how to fix it any better than that while still being non-speculative. But I feel there should definitely be something there since it's really the only way to identify that she has an ability but that it's unknown--that's where people look to find out about abilities, and an empty "Abilities" section is not a good idea. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:04, 11 December 2007 (EST)
            • Maybe just make the field "Abilities" and make it "Powername" "Unknown" or "None." - If it's hinted at that they have a power or it's stated but never shown, give it unknown.--Riddler 20:18, 11 December 2007 (EST)

Current Status

“Sparrow Redhouse, is she ever gonna appear? You guys said she would but she hasn't.” She was potentially going to make her appearance in episode 12, but that might be pushed off until later in the season. Keep your eyes peeled. [1] Maybe she won't die like the others...... - Cael 21:34, 30 September 2008 (EDT)

I hope not. I guess she was supposed to be the original Sue Landers, and look what happened to her... Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 22:38, 27 December 2008 (EST)

Shout Out

Did anyone else catch the mention of Sparrow in the latest gn Scenic Route? --Elemental Manipulator [ U | T | C ] - When in doubt, ask BTE 05:44, 7 April 2009 (EDT)

Now that we have an example of Sparrow actually doing something in the present day, shouldn't there be a separate page for her in the explosion future? - Josh (talk/contribs) 19:58, 17 April 2009 (EDT)

I think I figured out Sparrow's power. She has invisibility. That's why we've never seen her on the show, despite the producers repeatedly saying that we will. --Gibbeynator 20:43, 22 April 2009 (EDT)

That makes sense -Vampirate68 19:36, 5 May 2009 (EDT)

  • So Claude was protecting Sparrow? It would be easy to hide an invisible girl. -- Altes 12:25, 6 May 2009 (EDT)
  • Way too far fetched, we won't know until she appears on the show. you could say she has the ability to shape shift into a tree or something haha --Lolwut 12:09, 9 May 2009 (EDT)

I'm just going on the record saying that I figured out Sparrow's power long before now. Ryuutakeshi. 1:26 PM on May 12, 2009

After waiting for what, three years? She's finally here! Yipee! Rock moving! TomJs35713 7:14 PM May 12, 2009 (EDT

  • Like, Terra from Teen Titans rock moving? --Gibbeynator 10:26, 13 May 2009 (EDT)

As much as I am excited for Sparrow's long-delayed reveal, I'm kind of dreading what they are planning to do with her. There has been too many cool female heroes who were introduced and prominently featured in the graphic novels that barely or never make it to the actual series. Not to rain on the parade, but I'm just worried they are going to pull another Hana/Donna/Cruz & Karina/Logan Family on us, especially considering how much special effects work would be involved in earth manipulation...But also, yay finally!--Hakkun 12:36, 15 May 2009 (EDT)

  • I felt her power was kind of a let down. I was expecting something AMAZING after having to wait so long to see her. I thought that it would be some god-like power (not saying that controlling earth isn't sweet). -Vampirate68 15:20, 17 May 2009 (EDT)
    • Unrealistic expectations aside, it's not good for storytelling purposes for a hero to have "god-like power". Just look at Peter in the first two seasons. Wanderer32 17:00, 17 May 2009 (EDT)
      • I found her power to be perfectly fitting. I was very satisfied by the graphic novel, the story, and the character. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:13, 17 May 2009 (EDT)
        • I guess it wasn't that I wanted a god-like power but rather I was think she would have something to do with heat or fire, not earth. It was my own theories that let me down. -Vampirate68 20:54, 18 May 2009 (EDT)
        • At least it was an ability we had'nt seen before, i would have lol'ed if her ability was acidic blood XD so dangerous --Lolwut 15:16, 19 May 2009 (EDT)

Sparrow is absolutetly amazing , she is one of my favourites plus she has an awsome power , finally an earth character plus we had too many fire / heat characters, plus she is native american which makes things better because the show currently lacks diversity besides hiro and mohinder, the show need more females; i really hope she becomes part of the show. also i was complaining when they killed donna, connie, bianca and felicia and i hope monica is alive!--Zoga78 18:24, 19 May 2009 (EDT)

  • I think her power will be the reaon of why she wont make it to the show , such a cool power looks really dificult and expenssive for television--Cj31094 17:16, 27 May 2009 (EDT)
    • And they can't change it now, Jesse Murphy's ability was originally supposed to be some earthquake stomp kind of thing, but it was changed because it would be to expensive because of the money they'd have to use on the set. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 19:47, 27 May 2009 (EDT)

Kat Purgal

"Sparrow Redhouse's likeness is taken from that of actress Kat Purgal, who is also Zach Craley's girlfriend."

If Sparrow ever makes it, Kat should just portray her. -- Mike the Man-child!

Kelly Rowland looks like Sparrow, too. Though I doubt she would portray her. -- Altes 08:51, 11 June 2009 (EDT)
